2 Layering days Layering days are days that you book a time slot and we help you layer your quilt with 505 spray. The cost is 5 a quilt and all you need to do is book your slot, making sure you arrive 10 mins early with your quilt, wadding and backing and 505 spray (if you don't have wadding and 505 spray you can buy it on the day). Please also make sure that your quilt top and backing has been ironed, and that your backing and wadding is at least 4 larger all round than the top. 3 Wicked week Monday 13th May - Friday 17th May 160 or Monday 20st May - Friday 24th May of each pre-cut included in the price 2 days of jelly roll, 1 day charm pack and 2 days layer cake All we can say is that it is amazing. We know this as all the people that attended last year have already re-booked and didn't hesitate to come back. So because the first week is almost full, we have managed to arrange a second week as we know so many people want to do it. So please don't leave it too long to book as there really will not be a third week, we just can't fit another week in. Workshops Friday 18th January 10am - 4pm 35 Sashiko cushion with Sarah Soward Enjoy hand sewing while making this stunning form of quilting...you will be able use stencils that will allow you to design your own cushion. Friday 25th January 10am - 4pm 35 Jelly roll bag with Sarah Soward This bag is a total must have now we are trying to not use carrier bags. From your jelly roll you will be able to make 3 bags, the bags are big enough to take a board, cutter, ruler if you would like to use them for workshops. Pauline s Patchwork Ltd 3

4 Saturday 2nd February 10am - 4pm 45 CoCo dress or top with Lynsey Welch Wednesday 6th February or Thursday 7th February 9:30am - 12:30pm or 1pm to 4 pm FREE Carry all bag with Sarah Soward Yes, this workshop is free. All we ask you to do is pay a 10 deposit, of which you will be given back a voucher worth 10 to spend in the shop, when you attend the workshop. If you do not turn up you lose your money/voucher! In an age where we are trying to use less plastic, and we need to carry a bag with us, the make your own fold up bag is an ideal companion for your handbag. Saturday 9th February or Wednesday 5th June 11am - 3pm 17 Binding fun day with Sarah Soward This is going to be a fun day for you to try out different types of binding, so that your masterpiece will have that special finish. 4

5 Friday 22nd February 10am - 4pm 35 Machine fun day with Sarah Soward Scared of your machine? not sure how to use some of the feet? Then this is for you! I will cover machine appliqué and quilting along with the pre-programmed stitches on your machine. Saturday 23rd February or Saturday 5th October 10am - 4pm 40 Free motion machine day with Sarah Soward So you have the basics and you want to improve on your machine skills. We will be working very hard on our free motion skills, as well as out machine appliqué. It will be like doodling with your sewing machine. Saturday 2nd March 10am - 4pm 80 Style arc waterfall cardigan with Sarah Soward Come along and make this waterfall front jacket, the style arc pattern and the fabric required is included in the workshop. 6 weeks before the class you will have a choice of colours ready for the day... after this date a refund will be unavailable as your fabric will be purchased. There will be a selection of different sizes made up on the day so that you can make sure your correct size before we start. Saturday 9th March 10am - 4pm 40 Tumbling triangles with Terry Summerfield Using 5 squares to make half square triangles. The end result is circles on a background. This workshop needs some preparation, but well worth it for the effect. Great way to use a couple of charm packs, or any left over 5 squares, or even cut up a layer cake. Pauline s Patchwork Ltd 5

6 Saturday 16th March 10am - 4pm 35 Sewing machine apron with Angela Church This apron sits under your machine and has pockets to store your sewing tools, plus a big detachable bag for your rubbish. Fun to make and very useful. Saturday 23rd March or Saturday 14th September 9.30am pm or 1pm - 4pm 25 Machine ruler session with Sarah Soward Get to grips with quilting with rulers on your sewing machine... get to have a session playing with machine rulers, a machine ruler foot is included in this workshop and a 10% discount will be given to on any machine ruler purchased on the day. (Discount is on valid on day of workshop) Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th April 10am - 4pm 55 Geese go round with Caroline Munby A foundation paper piecing and curved piecing challenge to create this fabulous modern circular design. Options to finish this as a 19 circular cushion with or without a zipper or a 20 square cushion with an envelope back. Equally striking whether made in coordinated bright fabrics or calming neutrals. Saturday 27th and Saturday 28th April 10am - 4pm 60 Jelly roll weekend with Sarah Soward Anyone that is a jelly roll quilt lover and fancies a challenge, then this is the weekend for you. This is not suitable for beginner and there is a lot of rotary cutting involved before the workshop, however I can assure you, that you will not be disappointed. 6

7 Friday 31th May 11am - 3pm 17 Postcards with Sarah Soward Create postcards, labels or gift tags. All you need is a little imagination and I will give you plenty of ideas. A great way to create small works of art using up the fabric scraps, embellishments and threads you have in your stash. Machine needed. Saturday 1st June 10am - 4pm 40 Layercake quilt with Pauline Bolt A chance to make a choice of 2 different layer cakes. An easy or a more challenging one. Either is stunning. Rotary cutting and machine piecing skills are required. Friday 7th June 9.30am pm or 1pm - 4pm 20 Sewing machine cover with Angela Church I have made this easy cover, not only to keep your machine covered, when not in use, but also compliments the machine apron. Saturday 15th June 10am - 4pm 40 Lucy Boston Cushion with Terry Summerfield English paper piecing and on trend. This is the patchwork of the crosses block, involves fussy cutting. Can be a cushion or the start of a quilt. Good way to use some scraps. Pauline s Patchwork Ltd 7

8 Saturday 22nd June 10am - 4pm 45 Stevie dress with Lynsey Welch Saturday 6th July 10am - 4pm 50 Machine embroidery Robin with Angela Knapp On this course you will be creating this Robin picture above. The aim is to show you the techniques that Angela uses. These will include, choosing an image and suitable fabric, breaking an image back to a simple pattern and stitching details, both on the Robin and background fabric. Included in the price is a kit that includes fabric, wadding and the robin design. Thursday 11th and Friday 12th July 10am - 4pm 55 Or Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th July Bargello heart or beat with Sarah Soward There are 2 to choose from; Bargello beat - this is a single size quilt suitable for beginners as long as you can use a rotary cutter. Bargello heart is only for people that have done Bargello with me before. 8

9 Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th July 10am - 4pm Or Thursday 18th and Friday 19th July 60 Jelly roll star quilt with Sarah Soward Create a stunning star quilt using your favourite jelly roll and a background to show it off. With some serious cutting and machine piecing, you will not be disappointed. Thursday 25th July 9.30am pm or 1pm - 4pm Rotary cutting session with Sarah Soward 25 This technique day will get you all the skills you require to use your rotary cutter safely and accurately. Learn how to square blocks, cut strips, angles and much more. Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th July 10am - 4pm 55 Bargello new with Sarah Soward We have all got to know I love Bargello. Here the latest Bargello for you to have a go at. This is for all those Bargello lovers out there...mmm x. Not suitable for beginners or anyone who has not done Bargello with Sarah before. Saturday 3rd August 10am - 4pm 40 Bag with side ties with Angela Church This is one of my favourite bags to make, with side ties, it make it expandable, and useful for all occasions. 10 Saturday 10th August 10am - 4pm 45 Kielo dress with Lynsey Welch Saturday 24th August 10am - 4pm 40 Slow stitching with Terry Summerfield We all like a lazy day, this involves hand stitching, so great to do with friends and have a chat with coffee and cake, or come and make some new friends. This involves fussy cut paper piecing, big stitch quilting and Kantha. This can be a cushion or the start of a quilt. Friday 30th August 11am - 3pm 17 Appliqué fun day with Sarah Soward Spend a day doing just appliqué techniques decide the ones you like and the ones you really dislike 10

11 Saturday 7th September 10am - 4pm 55 Birds with Gillian Travis I have recently made a series of Striped quilts featuring birds, the first one being inspired by Polish folk costume and the carved wooden guinea fowl that I photographed in the shops in Warsaw. I made a second, inspired by the storks that I saw in Krakow, and then made another quilt, based on the birds in Devon. The technique can be used to make a quilt using any photograph as a starting point and include a variety of images that could be appliquéd over the top. It need not be a bird. Sunday 8th September 10am - 4pm 55 Fish with Gillian Travis This workshop was inspired by a trip to Portugal and features canned fish. 12 Saturday 19th October 10am - 4pm 40 Back to Baltimore Basics with Caroline Munby Create a traditional Baltimore style cushion or wall hanging using a lovely, calm and simple hand needle turned appliqué technique. Great for using up your favourite scrap fabrics. This can be either hand quilted or machine quilted to finish. Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th Oct 10am - 4pm 50 Jelly roll Christmas trees with Sarah Soward Let Sarah show you how to make a Christmas Tree using a Jelly Roll and background fabric. This quilt will look good on any wall or sofa. Saturday 2nd November and 10am - 4pm 60 Sunday 3rd November Binding Star Quilt with Terry Summerfield We all have a binding tool, do we use them for binding? This quilt uses the binding tool to make a starry quilt, using a jelly roll and a background fabric. This looks great in a batik or grunge fabrics, but would work well with a patterned jelly roll. Thursday 7th November or Flowers with Sarah Soward With a little bit of fabric a sewing machine and some imagination, make a bunch of fabric flowers, to go in your favourite vase. Saturday 9th November 10am - 4pm 40 Pool side tote with Angela Church This is a very large bag, that can be used for lots of things like being by the beach or pool, carrying quilts, or quilt projects. 12

13 Saturday 16th November 10am - 4pm 45 York pinafore with Lynsey Welch Saturday 23rd November or 10am - 4pm 40 Sunday 24th November Christmas days with Sarah Soward & Pauline Bolt In this workshop you will be making a selection of decorations from fabric, some by hand and some by machine. 14 Monthly workshops These workshops run over several months so you are able to make the blocks each month ready for new blocks the following month. Starting in February Monday 9.30am pm 60 Block Fun with Sarah Soward 4th February 4th March 1st April None May 3rd June 1st July 5th August 9th September If you are an absolute beginner and fancy doing a bit of patchwork then this is the class for you. You get to make different blocks and piece them together by hand or machine. Learn to quilt the blocks then make and put on the binding. Thursday 9.30am pm 60 Sew a row with Sarah Soward 7th March 4th April none May 6th June 4th July 8th August 12th September 10th October Using a rotary cutter and sewing machine make rows of blocks then join them together to make a stunning quilt. Not suitable for beginners. Thursday 1pm - 4pm 95 Sashiko quilt with Sarah Soward 7th March 4th April None May 6th June 4th July 8th August 12th September 10th October Make this fabulous Sashiko quilt all stitched by hand. Included in the workshop is all the plastic stencils and a marking pencil required to make this quilt. All you will need is the fabric and the time. 14

15 Friday 9.30am pm 60 Children s quilt with Sarah Soward 8th March 5th April 3rd May None June 5th July 9th August 13th September None October 8th November This is chance to make a different children's quilt that we have made before, with a dog, cat, lion, cow and much more. These amazing patchy animals will make everyone smile. Must be able to use a rotary cutter and a sewing machine. Friday 1pm - 4pm 60 Monsters quilt with Sarah Soward 8th March 5th April 3rd May None June 5th July 9th August 13th September None October 8th November This is a great quilt for any small child, boy or girl or that little monster you have. Use all your crazy fabrics for these wonderful little monsters. Must be able to use a rotary cutter and a sewing machine. Wednesday 10am - 2pm 130 Oh dear Sarah Jayne with Sarah Soward 6th March 3rd April 1st May None June 3rd July 7th August 11th September 9th October 6th November 4th December 15th January th February th March 2020 Based on the famous Dear Jane quilt, make your own version of the quilt over this long workshop. We will be making some of the original blocks from the Dear Jane quilt as well as updating some, and also putting our own mark on this old favourite. 16 Wednesday 9.30am pm 70 A different view with Sarah Soward 20th March 17th April 29th May None June 24th July 28th August 25th September None October 20th November Make an array of machine piece blocks from pineapple to log cabin, flying geese to churn dash and even a trip around the world. Definitely not suitable for beginners. Tuesday 9.30am pm OR 1pm - 4pm coverlet with Sarah Soward 16th April 28th May None June 9th July 6th August 10th September 8th October 5th November 3rd December 7th January th February th March 2020 The Susan Brisco book The reproduction of the 1718 coverlet is included in the workshop. Each month we will be working through the blocks of this fabulous quilt. Included is paper piecing, needle turn appliqué and machine or handed pieced blocks. This is not a quilt as you go quilt. Fortnightly classes We run fortnightly classes on the following times: Monday 9.30am pm or 1pm - 4pm Tuesday 9.30am pm or 1pm - 4pm Wednesday 9.30am pm or 1pm - 4pm Thursday 9.30am pm or 1pm - 4pm Friday 9.30am pm or 1pm - 4pm These classes are suitable for all levels and will cover a selection of items for you to do at your own pace. 16

17 Booking Due to the popularity of our classes and workshops, we ask you for a 10 non-refundable/ non-transferable deposit to secure your place on each class or workshop. Provisional bookings must be paid within 5 days. Full payment must be made 6 weeks prior to the class or workshop commencing. FAIL- URE TO PAY WILL RESULT IN THE LOSS OF YOUR PLACE. We can accept the full payment for class or workshop by credit or debit card. Sewing machine hire Sewing machines are available for hire at a charge of 5 per day. If you need to hire a machine please request one when you book the workshop as a only limited number of machines are available. Thread is not provided. Cancellation If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. If you cancel 2 weeks or less before the class or workshop then no money will be refunded. If your cancellation is before the 2 weeks then a refund will be given less the 10 deposit. Please note Children aged 13 and over are able to attend any classes or workshops. Children aged 8 to 12 may attend children's workshops provided they are accompanied by an adult. It is helpful if you bring your manual, a spare needle and the relevant feet, to any workshops where a sewing machine is required. If you book and pay for a class or workshop but do not attend, then you lose the rights to the pattern for that class or workshop. This does not apply if you miss one due to holiday or illness. Tea, coffee and afternoon cakes are supplied on all workshops. For lunch there are a range of cafés and eating places within easy reach. There is also a Waitrose supermarket nearby.
