In this club you will learn to play some simple tunes on open strings and some basic playing techniques. Build-a-Bear Workshop 4-6 Tuesday 4 5pm 5HSA HSA Hand stitch a cuddly stuffed teddy bear. Chess All Years Friday 1- Art Room JEB All Year s This club is for children in all year groups who are novices or experienced chess players. Children learn and develop from playing against each other and there is the opportunity for newcomers to learn the basic moves and strategies. Each year we enter the UK Land Chess Challenge which is initially run in school and then extends to the national competition. Clay Artistic Y6 Tuesday 4 5pm DT Room To develop your clay skills and make a variety of stoneware items. MJF Cool Recorders All Friday PSP FG/HD All Year Music 10.50am For those who have mastered the basic and are starting to read music.

2 Creating Comic Strip 4-6 Thursday 4 5pm DT Rm JCR s If you would like to combine your drawing and creative writing talents then come and take part. Make your own comic strips for others to enjoy. Cricket Y3 Monday 1 All boys are invited to practise their bowling and batting. Cricket Y4 Thursday 1 All boys are invited to practise their bowling and batting. Double Bass All Tuesday 1 Miss Murray All Year s Learn to play the Double Bass on one of the school instruments with a group of friends. You will have lot of fun trying to reach the strings to begin with! Eaglet Team All Monday 4-5pm 5PSP PSP All Year Invitation The Eaglet is produced annually and records the events and work from the year. All the work in the magazine is produced by the pupils and this year we are going to trial a team of budding journalists to be responsible for organising and writing the whole school events and year group events. Fabric Toys All Wednesday 4 5pm DT BS Room Come and learn how to make toys using scrap pieces of fabric. We will start with a stretchy horse. Fashion Design 4-6 Thursday 4 5pm 5PSP PSP Come along and design outfits. Work individually or as a team. You need to bring a scrapbook, colouring pencils, scissors and glue. Girls Football All Wednesday pm MC Sign up at Girls football is an opportunity for young and budding female footballers to come along and have some fun playing the beautiful game. Guitar Group Guitar players Monday 1- CFH Mr Smith All Year Please see Mrs A chance for budding young guitarist to come along and compose their own music. This group is for those who have some experience on guitar and are keen to rehearse and perform in a small group. Reperoire is mainly important.

3 Gym 4-6 Monday 4 5pm Gym JEL/CO s This club is for boys and girls in Years 4-6. The children will work towards a Gym Display in February. They will have the opportunity to work in pairs and small groups on the floor and on small apparatus. The children will be encouraged to find their own music to perform to and to choreograph a short routine thinking about how they interpret the music through their movements. Improvers Thursday 4.00 Swim HD/AV All Year Invitation Swimming 5.00pm Pool This is by invitation and is for those children in the bottom group swimming. Water confidence and stroke improvement will be worked on with Mrs Draycott and Miss Vaughan. Improvers Ukulele Ukulele player 5 & 6 Tuesday Art Rm JEB Music This group is for those who have already learnt a few basic chords and are seeking to develop their skills further. Junior Orchestra All Years Monday 1- CF EMH/AJ All Year Invitation only This group is open to all players of orchestral instruments. This includes selected recorder players and percussionists recommended by their teachers. String players should have had at least a term of lessons. The ability to read simple music is required. We recommend that all suitable instrumentalists join this group in order to gain important ensemble skills and to complement their individual study with sociable music making. You need to have been playing your instrument for 1 or 2 terms at least to join this club. You need to have been playing your instrument for 1 or 2 terms at least to join this club. Knitting All Tuesday 1 Y3 Area Learn to knit and make bobble hats for smoothies! No experience needed. CO s Language Invitation Thursday 4 5pm ICT Rm MVP MFL extension activities. Maths: Art & 5&6 Friday 4 5pm 6KW KW Puzzles It involves making mathematical patterns and shapes, for example using pyramids, spirals, tessellations or circles.

4 It is open to anyone in Yr 5 & 6 who has an interest in shapes, colours and mathematical patterns. Netball Training All Tuesday 4 5pm HCG/HS/JEL/CC Sign up at This club is open to all girls. They will recap on skills covered in their lessons as well as game play. Girls will need short white socks and trainers as well as their usual games kit. Netball League 6 Wednesday 4 5pm HCG/HS Invitation BMS teams play in a netball league against other schools in the area. Percussion All Thursday CF Mrs Fisher All Year s 10.50pm Tap out a funky beat or rhythm on any number of percussions instruments. This is a fun club but quite loud! Reading 5 Friday 1 Fun activities based around stories, poems, plays etc 5MVP MVP Rugby 7 s 5 & 6 Wednesday TWB Training Invitation 1pm Week 1 - Y6 & Week 2 Y5 A selection of boys training after Wednesday Games in preparation for the BMS 7 s tournament. Gum shield needed. Ski All Wednesday 4-7pm+ MK AS All Year Ask for a letter at JS Reception Open to beginners and those with experience at a cost per session. The children will require warm, waterproof clothing. Gloves and a long sleeved top are essential and a hat or helmet may prove useful. A brilliant test of fitness, agility and concentration, the aim is to stack a pyramid of cups and then dismantle them in the quickest time possible. Play on your own to beat your own best time or against an opponent. Supercool All Years Friday CF Miss Bentley All Year Invitation only Recorders 10.55pm For more advanced recorder players, who can already read music and play a range of notes. Enjoy playing a variety of new tunes in a group. The session is run on a competitive swimming basis and the children usually swim lengths to work on their stamina and the finer points of speed swimming. Tennis 3, 4 & 5 Monday & JW Wb Pre-arranged Wednesday 8.15am Children are coached by Jonny Wolfe from Riverside Tennis. Children learn the importance of movement and fair play. All children need to bring breakfast for afterwards. Yahtzee All Monday 4 5pm 3CT CT A fast paced mathematical dice game for any age.
