11 SPOTLIGHT ON EVENTS Here at SCOR we have a long history with our Line Dance program (beginning in the 1980 s). The dancers would go out and perform at local centers and went by the name, SCOR Liners. Over the years the group has had many instructors and/or facilitators. Today s leader of the pack is Barbara Carlson. She keeps the troops in step and gets all the events organized. But she can t do it alone. When Barbara is not able to attend the class, she has wonderful dancers that jump in and teach some new moves. They are Patti Ferguson, Hermine Goff, Suzie Bell and Mary Theodoras. We thank all of you for your dedication to the program and teaching challenging steps with patience and laughter each week. Every year the Line Dancers put on a workshop the first Saturday in November. It is open to all line dancers from all over the central Ohio. This year s theme is 50 s Sock Hop Dance. It will be at SCOR on Saturday, November 3 from 9:30-2:30 with doors opening at 9:00. There is Line Dance! an $8.00 charge (plus a food item for the Reynoldsburg Helping Hands) collected at the door. The fees provide coffee, snacks, lunch and all the dances you can handle. Any leftover monies will go to a local charity. If you are a line dance teacher, please bring 25 copies of your dance/dances to share with the other participants. If you are interested in attending the workshop, member Sue Markel at markelsue@yahoo.com by October 29th. Looking forward to some fun new steps for the dancers and some generous donations for our local charities. Great work! 11
