3 1 Intrductin The Nine ICT-driven Cmpetence Centres are distributed centres specialized in a key aspect f IT/ CPS dmain and enabling technlgies, which will ffer lcal SMEs access t technlgy, t experimentatins and t cmpetencies services. Due t this specializatin, each CC will have different demands and impacts depending n their regin and industrial areas. The ecsystem f CCs represents a structured netwrk f services in terms f technlgy and frmatin, that wuld be accessed by SMEs and industrial partners at reginal/lcal level but that will als benefit frm the glbal Pan-Eurpean netwrking dimensin f Internet-based CPS/IOT technlgies. The CCs netwrk will imprve the value prpsitin and the impact f ICT innvatrs t Manufacturing Industry and n the ther side it will preserve the lcal apprach required by Manufacturing SMEs Assciatins and Reginal Develpment Agencies. CCs will als accelerate the cmmunicatin between all actrs in research, innvatin and industries dmain, encuraging an interactive tw-way knwledge exchange and imprving the spreading and adptin f innvatin. 1.1 CC1 FHG FOKUS Mre than tw years ag Fraunhfer FOKUS established the IIT Center. The IIT Center is lcated in Berlin, Germany, which is currently attracting a lt f ICT Start-ups and Entrepreneurs. Services f the IIT Center range frm knwledge transfer t strategy develpment, t implementatin and testing f systems and prducts. The main fcus f the technlgy-specific services f the IIT Center are fcusing n IIT cnnectivity and cmmunicatin, based n ur 30 years f expertise as ne f the biggest ICT applied research institutes having in-depth knw-hw with regards t market verview; standards and technlgies. The IIT Center is equipped with a multitude f lcal and wide area cmmunicatin technlgies that intercnnect a brad range f devices and cyber-physical systems, as fund in Industry 4.0, autmtive, smart cities, smart energy and ehealth. Furthermre, we maintain hands-n expertise thrugh ur wn IIT infrastructures and testbeds ranging frm 5G netwrks, Lw Pwer Wide Area Netwrks t deterministic Ethernet (TSN), where ur clients are prvided with live demnstratins, are supprted in develpment and integratin and supprted in testing and hardening their prducts. 1.2 CC2 Institute Mines Telecm CC2 IMT/ TeraLab has been in peratin fr 4 years and supprted ver 50 prjects in AI/Big Data Research, Innvatin and Educatin. 4 The institute s research activities are rganized int five main disciplinary themes: digital technlgies, energy, materials, natural resurces and the envirnment and ecnmics, enterprise and sciety. The psitining f TeraLab and fellw I Spaces shuld play a majr rle in the building f said trusted Data marketplaces at the crss rads f Big Data Technlgy, Cybersecurity initiatives and the verticals MFD4.0 being ne f the first t capitalize n such advances. TeraLab pens new pprtunities t researchers by prviding an ptimal envirnment in which big data prject teams can dedicate themselves entirely t the business f prcessing and analyzing, stimulating the prductin f new research which has the ptential t frm the basis f innvatins with majr scientific implicatins. The platfrm prvides data scientists with a whle catalg f tls and services devted t statistical prcessing, data analysis and display, and mre. 1.3 CC3 Frtiss As a research and transfer institute fr sftware-intensive systems, frtiss fcusses n applicatin-driven research fr engineering pen, cperative and trustwrthy CPS. In clse cllabratin with industrial partners, frtiss cnducts R&D prjects in varius applicatin dmains, including rbtics and industrial autmatin, and business IT and clud systems. In its rle f a MIDIH cmpetence centre, frtiss prvides expertise in a range f fields, particularly fcusing n adaptive autmatin architectures and mdel-based sftware engineering fr industrial autmatin and their relatinship with manufacturing peratins management. Cllabratin with IT startups, SMEs and entrepreneurs typically takes the frm f jint prject wrk t develp specific sftware slutins fr autmatin tasks. In this regard, the frtiss cmpetence centre ffers access t knwledge and access t technlgy services as fllws: - Access t Knwledge: frtiss rganizes wrkshps and infrmatin events related t mdel-based develpment f pen-surce autmatin sftware based n the IEC standard and the applicatin f ther Industrie 4.0 technlgies, such as OPC UA based n established pen surce SDKs specifically (free services as resurces allw). Training curses and cnsulting n individual challenges are als ffered fr specific needs (premium services). - Access t Technlgy: frtiss ffers its expertise in sftware technlgies fr industrial autmatin in small-t-medium scale cntracted develpment r cnsultancy prjects. The frtiss future factry, an adaptable prductin plant cmpsed f varius custmized Fest Didactic MPS statins, is made available fr testing and demnstratin purpses. Prmtin f the IEC standard and its 4diac implementatin in a brad range f autmatin-related fields: Perfrm cmplementary and crss-dmain shwcases t supprt the creatin f a landscape f uses fr sftware develpment in autmatin and cntrl systems applicatins. 5 1.4 CC4 VTT The VTT Cmpetence Center lcates at city f Oulu Finland in facilities f VTT Technical Research Centre f Finland. VTT cllabrates with SMEs and manufacturing cmpanies and prvides a full demnstratin and training platfrm (frm devices t clud services using 5G test netwrk) fr the cllabratin. The VTT Cmpetence Center ffer the fllwing services: Access t Technlgy: Supprts SMEs and manufacturing cmpanies in their digitalizatin plans (Industry 4.0) by prviding demnstratin platfrm Training platfrm fr the cmpanies fr experimentatin f real-time data streaming and analytics capabilities Cnsulting services fr develpment f custmers I4.0 systems Access t Experiments: live demnstratins where applicatins frm rbtics and machine cntrl labratries are in actin. Access t Cmpetences: VTT will rganizes events/wrkshps, labratry turs, seminar and wrkshp presentatins, white papers, news. 1.5 CC5 TUKE The Cmpetence Centre at the Technical University f Ksice (TUKE) prvide supprt fr active ICT based R&D cllabratin f "academia" with SMEs r mid-caps cmpanies (Mid-Cap). Frm IT Start-ups and Web Entrepreneurs pint f view TUKE supprt and prvides several types f services: The pre-incubatin prcess (abut 6 mnths fr participants wh are selected, by an expert cmmissin, frm the registered applicants thrugh a public interview) is prvided at the Startup Center and includes, amng thers: cnsultancy and training services, publicity, supprt fr business mdel and its implementatin plan develpment, prmting idea t public and ptential investrs The active incubatin prcess (recmmended fr each successful pre-incubatr graduate) is prvided in the TUKE Incubatr and lasts fr 1 t 3 years and includes, amng thers: - cnslidated business prgramme with active caching and training, supprt fr a business plan implementatin, assistance in btaining apprpriate investment supprt and premises. 7 1.7 CC7 LTU LTU is ne f the five majr technlgy Universities in Sweden. Lulea University f Technlgy is experiencing strng grwth with wrld-leading cmpetence in several areas f research. Our research is cnducted in clse cperatin with cmpanies such as Bsch, Ericssn, Scania, LKAB, SKF and leading internatinal universities. The LTU field f cmpetencies in the Industry 4.0 are: Autmatin and digitalisatin system architecture Arrwhead Framewrk FAR-EDGE: edge architecture Prductive4.0: supply chain and prduct life cycle management IT Interperability e.g. Prtcl interperability Semantics interperability System f Systems, SS, engineering IT and SS security IT autmatin/digitalisatin engineering e.g. Smart Service Cntracts, PlantDescriptin, Cnfiguratin LTU has led the develpment f the Arrwhead Framewrk and Its main tasks are the develpment and transfer f knwledge cncerning Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) t manufacturing stakehlders. In this cntext, we envisin t cllabrate with IT Startups, Web Entrepreneurs and SMEs in these cntexts: Access t Knwledge: cllabrate t c-rganize ad-hc events, training r wrkshp based n specific technlgies; Understanding cmpany status versus Industry4.0, understanding cmpany market value prpsitin, understanding cmpany plans fr new market value prpsitin Access t technlgy: cllabrate in innvatin cnsultancy prjects when the specific cmpetence r technlgies is needed; prvide supprt n experiments 1.8 CC8 IML Fraunhfer IML is said t be first address fr all questins with respect t hlistic lgistics, the emplyees wrk n all fields f internal and external lgistics. At the Institute, funded in 1981, there are at the mment 260 emplyees as well as 250 pst-graduates and students, supprted by clleagues in wrkshps, labratries and service areas. 8 The research and innvatin lcatin n lgistics in Drtmund already cvers a significant part f the innvatin chain frm basic research, t applied research with industry partners, technlgy develpment and different innvatin trajectries t bring ideas t market. Within the Digital Prduct Factry cmpanies are specifically supprted with a taylr made prcess in develping digital prducts r hybrid services fr Industrie 4.0 r Lgistics 4.0. Beside this prcess cmpanies benefit frm the digital ecsystem and the cmmunity which was created threw ut the decade. Finally, participating cmpanies can use the c-wrking space which is lcated in direct neighburhd and wrk in an agile way and innvative envirnment. In rder t supprt cmpanies t be successful with the digital transfrmatin Digital.Hub Lgistics develped a nvel supprting cncept fr start-ins. Offering wrking places in the individual cwrking space, access t the labs and dem centres f the Fraunhfer institutes and TU Drtmund University and t testbeds f the Prt f Duisburg, it includes the necessary infrastructure n the ne hand. On the ther hand, the hub ffers a variety f innvatin cmpnents that cntribute t the success f the prject be it reliable cncepts f the innvatin management r new frmats f the start-up scene. 1.9 CC9 PSCN PSNC (Pznan Supercmputing and Netwrking Centre) is affiliated t the Institute f Birganic Chemistry f the Plish Academy f Sciences. PSNC is the majr Plish academic HPC centre and bradband netwrk services prvider (NREN fr Pland) as well as applicatin and services develper and prvider. Apart frm HPC Centre and Netwrk Security Centre, PSNC runs an R&D Centre f Future Internet, e-infrastructure, Digital Cntent and Prtals, wrking e.g. n: middleware, tls and methds fr HPC and distributed cmputing, resurce management, scheduling, large scale applicatins, user management and accunting, infrastructure security mechanisms and plicies, grid and clud management tls, HPC and distributed strage architectures, mbile applicatins, Internet f Things, perating in IaaS, SaaS and PaaS mdes. PSNC has a cnsiderable expertise in clud HPC simulatins fr manufacturing cmpanies (Lubawa is an example) as well as in cnstructin f IT systems, especially IT middleware and security.
