I think we have a great line-up of new classes to offer you this winter session. I hope that you will be able to work some of them into your busy schedule. If you enjoy machine embroidery or would like to try your hand at it, we have two great classes for you. We are so excited to have Margaret Moorehead teaching for us Feb. 15th an 16th. Margaret is a certified Jenny Haskins teacher. She recently spent about a month in Australia studying with Jenny. If you can t take the hands on embroidery class at least sign up for her wonderful trunk show. Then on March 19th we will be presenting an all day hands on class on Embroidery Tips and Techniques. With this class you will be able to take your embroidery skills to a higher level. Don t miss it. Please sign up as soon as possible for these two classes. Each month we will make a new project that will help you learn more and more about your machine and all the wonderful accessory feet that are available. March 27th 1:30-3:30 p.m. or 6:00-8:00 SUMMER WINE QUILT USING THE MEGA HOOP $20.00* NEW CLASS SERIES Class Requirement: Summer Wine Quilt Book and Bernina Sewing/Embroidery machine that uses the Mega Hoop with auto split feature. This class meets every other month. In class you will receive your instructions for hooping, alignment and stitching (these processes will vary by block). We will also review the class supplies needed for the quilt. You will complete your stitching at home. The blocks have been redesigned to use a combination of the Mega/Large Hoops which helps reduce much of the rehooping and alignment work. March 29th 12:30-3:00 p.m. BERNINA BEGINNING SOFTWARE TRAINING This is a beginner class for the Editor Plus or Designer Plus Software. 3 MEGA HOOP MADE SIMPLE $20.00 Do you have the mega hoop but haven t used it or maybe you just need a refresher class? In this class you will learn how to use the hoop and align designs while you make a lovely table runner. Taught by Bonnie Dicarlo. Sat. Feb :30 3:00 p.m. CREATIVE VISION GRAND DREAM HOOP $20.00 In this class you will learn how to use the Grand Dream Hoop. This exciting hoop is the largest hoop on the market. Fri. March 14th 10:00-1:00 p.m. PERFECT FREE MOTION STITCH- ING/STIPPLING/QUILTING USING YOUR BERNINA BSR FOOT $20.00 Get comfortable with free motion stitching as you create the PERFECT STITCH using Bernina s BSR foot. Even non-quilters will love the BSR for a decorative touch to your project. This will be a hands on machine class using class samples. We will also discuss threads, needles and stabilizers that can vary by type of project using the BSR. Class taught by Bonnie Dicarlo. Sat. Feb. 2nd 10:00-12:30 p.m. SUPER LARGE DESIGNS WITH NEW HOOP IT ALL BRACKET AND HOOP $20.00 Class requirement: New Bracket & Hoop it All Hoop plus Embroidery Software. Create Super Large designs without re-hooping by using the new Hoop It All Bracket which can be used with the large Hoop It All Hoops. This bracket makes your machine think it is working with the mega hoop. You will learn how to use the embroidery software to combine, split, align and stitch your super large designs without re-hooping. Class taught by Bonnie DiCarlo. Class fee $20.00 Sat. April 5th 10:00-1:30 p.m. JENNY HASKINS EMBROIDERY TECHNIQUE SECRETS $ This is a class that uses a design that has been specially re-digitized to be able to incorporate all the techniques into this one design. A purchased linen table runner is used as the blank to show case the many ways that set Jenny s embroidery designs out from the crowd. Using coordinating threads and fabrics, the student is guided step-by-step on how to achieve new and wonderful techniques that you can use in so many ways, as well as having a decorative table runner when the class is completed. Techniques learned will be: Embroidered Twin needle shadow work, Embroidered Cutworkthe easy way, Sheer Reverse Embroidered Appliqué, Embroidered Shadow Appliqué, and Layered embroidered Appliqué. Class taught by Margaret Moorehead, Certified Jenny Haskins Instructor. Lunch provided each day. 4 BASIC HEIRLOOM SEWING $20 In this class you will learn the basics of heirloom sewing joining laces, entredeux, roll and whip fabric, pintucks, puffing and more. If you have never done heirloom sewing, you will need to take this class prior to the Heirloom Dress Class. Taught by Paula Wed. Feb. 6th 10:00 12:30 p.m. CHRISTENING GOWN OR HEIR- LOOM DRESS $55.00 In this class you will construct a Christening Gown or Heirloom Dress from start to finish. You will make a fancy joke and fancy band with lace and pintucks. When you sign up for class, set up an appointment with Paula to help you design and plan your dress. Wed. Feb. 20th, 27th and Mar. 5th 10:00-2:00 BEGINNING SMOCKING $45.00 In this 3-week class you will learn the basic smocking stitches on a sampler and then you will smock a basic bishop dress or baby daygown. You must know basic sewing skills to finish the construction of the dress. Taught by Paula. Mon. Feb. 18, 25, Mar. 3rd 10:00-12:30 p.m. MARY-DE JUMPER $25.00 Learn to make this adorable smocked jumper or sun-dress. This is a classic Children s Corner pattern that I have made for the past 20 years. It is a perfect garment to showcase your geometric or picture smocking. You must have the smocking done before class, and know some basic sewing skills. Taught by Paula Tues. Feb. 19th 10:00-3:00 p.m. SERGER ROBE $25.00 This is a ladies wrap robe pattern by Kwik Sew. It has patch pockets, turned up cuffs, single layer collar and belt. All outside edges are finished with a serger. This is a great class to get acquainted with your serger and some of the decorative finishes it will do. Taught by Paula Fri. Feb. 8th 10:00-3:00 p.m. EMBROIDERY T-N-T $25.00 Embroidery Tips-n-Techniques. Are you looking to ignite your imagination? Join us for a day filled with Embroidery T-n-T. Whether you are experienced or new to machine embroidery the Tips-n-Techniques featured during our embroidery extravaganza will blow you away. You ll take home a CD with the designs needed to create the featured projects, instructions for the projects and video clips of select techniques. Don t miss this unique opportunity to explore machine embroidery like never before! This is a hands on embroidery class. Bernina Artista Embroidery Machines will be provided. Lunch also included. March 19th 9:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. SERGER T-SHIRT $20.00 Make a basic T-shirt all on the serger using a basic t-shirt patter or the T-shirt pattern that is in the My-Label Fitting Software if you own that. Taught by Paula. Mon. Mar. 10th 10:00-1:00 p.m. SEW-FUN DAY FREE Get away from it all and come use our spacious classroom to finish up projects, visit with friends and just have fun. You may use our class-room machines if you wish. Please let us know ahead of time if you are coming. Tues. Jan. 29, Feb. 26 and Mar. 25th 10:00-4:00 CLASS POLICY It is necessary to pre-register for all classes. Students are urged to register as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Payment is due upon registration. You may come in or pay over the phone with a credit card. You must cancel at least one week before class to receive a refund. No exceptions. If we must cancel a class you will be contacted and given a full refund. Please ask for a supply list when registering. Class fee is for instruction only. All classes require a kit fee or pattern purchase. If you wish to use one of our class room machines, please let us know when you register for class.

5 PIECE & PLENTY MYSTERY QUILT Take a quilting journey with us as we start our very first mystery quilt class. This quilt is spectacular! You will learn so many techniques through 15 months of classes. Don t let this overwhelm you. We are starting with the first semester. This will consist of 5 months Jan May one class a month. Give it a try. After 5 months you will have 5 beautiful blocks finished. Stop there or continue with the second semester and then the third semester. Fabric kits will be available for purchase at each class. All I can say about the finished quilt is that is a traditional style quilt. We will share a special recipe in every class and at the end of the 15 months have a pot luck lunch. Sound like fun? Sign up as soon as possible. March 15th 10:00 1:00 p.m. LET S MAKE WAVES QUILT BLOCKS Take this technique class and learn a new exciting way to make blocks using The Wave Edge Ruler. This technique of sewing wavy curves from strips of fabric similar to a log cabin design to create blocks will take your sewing skills to the next level. Taught by Amy Johnson Class fee is $25.00 Wed. Jan 30th 10:00-1:00 p.m. BE ATTITUDES MACHINE AP- PLIQUE This beginner class will show you the techniques for machine appliqué. Learn to adhere pieces for raw edge appliqué and then secure with a blanket stitch. Must own the book Be Attitudes by Nancy Halvorsen. Taught by Amy Johnson. Class fee $20.00 Sat. Feb. 9th 1:00-4:00 p.m. FOUNDATION PAPER PIECING $20 Learn the numeric construction process to paper piecing in this 3 hour class. This method of block making is very accurate and you will love the results you get every time. With practice, paper piecing could end up being your favorite method of piecing for your quilts. Taught by Amy Johnson Sat. Feb. 2nd 1:30-4:30 p.m. T-SHIRT QUILT BLOCKS $25.00 Every one has a collection of t-shirts from vacations, rock concerts, sports or hobbies they can t bear to throw away. Learn to stabilize and cut out t-shirts into blocks and add sashing to make a one of a kind of quilt. This is a technique class. Taught by Amy Johnson Wed. March 12th 1:00-4:00 p.m. SASSY SKIRTS $25 IT S A WRAP PURSE PROJECT Wrap, wind, and sew fabric strips around cotton clothesline, coil, shape, and secure into a fantastic purse. Anyone from a beginner to a seasoned sewer or quilter will enjoy this project. Taught by Amy Johnson. Class fee $35.00 Sat. March 22 10:00-4:00 SWING BAG $20 Reversible Shoulder Bag an instant classic with a Forties Flair. This roomy shoulder bag is the perfect day trip or run-around town tote. Pattern by Amy Butler. Taught by Paula Wed. March 26th 10:00 am 1:00 p.m. Even if you don t have much sewing experience you can make one of these cute skirts. We will be using the Sassy Skirts book by Cindy Taylor Oates. It has 12 different skirt patterns and you can make yours with an elastic waist or side zipper. Great chance to learn how to put in an invisible zipper. Taught by Paula Tues. Mar. 18th 10:00 3:00 p.m. FRENCHY BAG $35 In this class you will make the French Bag by Amy Butler. This shoulder bag is a great vintage glamour bag and it is very cute!
