Gabrielle will be walking you through taking your measurements, drawing out your pattern, sewing with knits and all through to the construction of your skirt. You will experience a number of very important bag making skills that are necessary to move on to larger projects. These useful pouches can hold just about anything from notions, toiletries, sunscreen to anything that needs to be carried. Great for gifts--make 3 coordinating bags and nest them together or make them for gift giving. We'll complete one pouch in class. 2 Amy Butler Gumdrop Pillow Amy s Gumdrop pillow comes in an 18 or 24 size and looks great in your favorite fabric or in multiple fabrics for a scrappier look. It can be used as a footstool, seating, or floor pillow. Use it to add a statement piece into your décor. This is a great piece to send off to college...in college colors! Does the idea of learning on your own sound a little daunting and time consuming? Then this is the class for you! We will begin with the basics and each week add a few new skill to your sewing repertoire as different projects are completed. Learn how to measure and cut fabric, make and apply piping, sew mitered and boxed corners, add zippers and hems. We will also be doing simple appliqué and teach you how to read a pattern. There are a TON of skills wrapped into this course! Price: $195 includes textbook and patterns. Materials & supplies will be discussed prior to each class and are not included. While having a reputation for being a little complex, Lisa will break down the steps for you to make this a very manageable project. We all love those one-of-a-kind boutique wearables. Well this is your chance to make a typical jean jacket look like you bought it at a boutique on your summer travels. Abby will teach you all the skills and will be there to direct you as you add an hand embroidered pattern onto your jacket. 3 Introduction to Hand Embroidery There are many modern projects being done with embroidery right now and there are a variety of pattern designs available which combine to make embroidery a great project for anyone! It is a relaxing, creative outlet as well as being portable which makes it perfect for the summer! It can be a project on it s own or used to embellish something such as clothing, bags, home dec, etc. In this class you will learn everything you need to know to complete an embroidery project. This class will meet in our living room here at Stitched Studio and will be taught by Abby, a master embroiderer...perfect set up for stress free stitchin. Price: $48 (includes muslin and hoop) + pattern and floss Thursdays, Sept 18 and 25 6:00-8:00pm The Shore Bag In this bag class you will learn how to add pockets, install magnetic closures, use interlinings and make a ergonomic curved shoulder strap. You can choose to give your bag a slouchy appearance or a more structured appearance by your interlining selection. Lisa will help you with all these techniques and decisions. This bag has expandable sides for a roomy piece and the opportunity to customize with your favorite fabrics. Gabrielle will teach you how to make a perfectly fitted legging pattern based on measurements or bring your favorite pair of leggings and she will show you how to make a pattern to recreate them. You will leave with a one of a kind pair of leggings. Beginning Quilting Quilting is all the rage right now. And not just your grandma s quilting (although alive and well) there is a fresh, new vibe on the quilting scene. We will teach you the steps from fabric selection, piecing, sandwiching, machine quilting to binding. This is a 4 session class and a lot to cover so there may be homework. Fun homework though! And you can have free studio time to complete the homework if you desire. We want to walk you through every step in the process including fabric selection so please come in or call ahead to schedule some one on one time with one of our staff before your first class. 4 Playing with Precuts Don t let a busy schedule crush your creativity. Using pre-cuts takes away the intimidation of choosing several different prints that go together and allows you to cut to the quilting chase. Your quilts can be completed quickly, maintain a modern flair and still be attractive. This class will introduce you to the precut lingo and get you started on the selected pattern. Prerequisite: Ready, Set, Quilt or equivalent skills This class is not intended to replace your beginning quilting class however it is a fabulous next step. 5 By Sew Kind of Wonderful Jenny Pedigo & Helen Robinson Curve It Up Double Block of the Month This new Block of the Month program developed by Jenny Pedigo from Sew Kind of Wonderful is a new take on a traditional sampler quilt. She has taken traditional blocks and curved them up. This program is great for new quilters wanting to expand their skills by experiencing many traditional blocks but it is also great for those that want to try something new by way of using curves. A specialty ruler is used to create gentle curves that are easy to sew. Why Double Block of the month? Well because a year is a LONG time! New year s resolutions?? Enough said. We want you to complete this quilt so we sped up the program and we are doing two blocks each month. We could have called it the Block of the Every Other Week Program but it didn t have the same ring. Below is how we are running this particular program. Please read all the details below and if it sounds good pay your registration fee and come in to see your colorway choices or call us with your choice. 1. Select a session (Tuesday@6:00pm OR Wednesday@10:00am) for your Double Block of the Month. Demo and pick up will take place the third Tuesday and third Wednesday of the month beginning on Sept 16th and 17th and proceed forward each month. 2. Choose a colorway: The Heather Bailey The Micheal Miller The Anna Maria Horner 3. Pay Registration Fee of $30.00 (non-refundable) which includes pattern book (which includes patterns for all 12 blocks) and first month s two kits. If you have not already you will also need to purchase the Sew Kind of Wonderful Quick Curve Ruler (retail $22.00) 4. Your kits will the contain the fabric necessary for the month s two blocks. Fabrics may differ depending on availability. 5. Bring your completed blocks to the next month s session and get the following month s two blocks free! 6. We will demo the blocks of the month. In addition, we will share all of the latest and greatest fabrics, pattern, books, and samples each month! 7. Successfully attend all 6 meetings and complete all blocks according to Program rules, and your total cost for the 12 blocks including pattern will be $30! A Few Conditions: You ll get 1 free kit each month in your selected colorway. If you d like to make multiple blocks in either or both colorways, you must pay for any additions. Sessions will be held each month on the 3rd Tuesday of the month both at 10:00am and 6:00pm (see dates and exceptions below). To receive your free kits, you must personally attend your assigned session. No exceptions. The doors will open at 9:45. You will have 15 minutes to show your completed blocks and take a seat in the classroom. If your blocks are COMPLETED, you will get your next month s blocks for free. The sessions will start promptly. If you arrive late you may still attend the session, but you will have to purchase the next month s two blocks for $10. If your block is not completed, or you can t attend for any reason (health, vacation, emergencies) you can buy that month s kits for $10 any time after your scheduled meeting. You must stay for the entire demo to receive your blocks, or pay $10 if you leave early. Sessions usually last 1 1 ¼ hours. We will not be sewing together during the sessions, but we ll demonstrate how to complete each block. The minimum age for participating in the $10 Double Block of the Month Program is 18. While we love your adorable children this is not an event that is conducive to waiting children. Out of respect for the teacher and other participants we ask that you leave them at home for your session. After the 6:00 session is completed, enjoy this special shopping time alone without your spouse or children! The store is open just for you! This is a wonderfully fun event and we look forward to having you join us, but we would also like you to review these conditions before you make a commitment to the program as we won t be making any exceptions.

Each budding designer will learn sewing & designing skills while creating cool & stylish projects on our monthly classes. Open to children ages 9-15 *must be 9 at time of class Stitched Kids will meet weekly for one hour on a 4 week ongoing cycle. Tuition is $70 a month. Sewing Machines & Tools Provided Students purchase their own fabric and notions for each project. There will be four students per class and as long as there are openings you can join at any time. We will prorate if joining midmonth. Projects could include: sewing bag, PJ bottoms, shorts, shirts, skirts, purses, wallets, aprons, pillows and so much more! We will end each semester with a Stitched Kids Fashion Show. I like to talk to each of you prior to placing your child into class. it really helps me to get a better idea of the perfect fit. I want your child to have the best and most creative experience in the studio! Being a quiet activity that travels well adds to its appeal. Abby will teach your child this fine art so they can decorate clothing, pillows, wall hangings, etc. She will teach them how to transfer a pattern or use their own, how to hoop their fabric and how to do the most popular stitches necessary to stitch out their design.
