ABCs of Beginning Quilting # Jump start your quilting skills in only four sessions! You will learn to rotary cut and machine piece a block. Then you will add borders and pin baste the top, batting and backing together. Finally you will machine quilt the piece and bind the edges. Block of the Month # A Perfect Day Join us as we meet each month for a lecture and demonstration of each block and border. All sewing will be done at home, but every question will be answered and all problems solved in our class time together. Completely beginner friendly, yet stunning for all skill levels. 7 Sewing cont. 43. Zippers, Zippers, Zippers! # Don t fear the zipper! We will conquer them by making a sample and then a zippered pouch with neat zip ends and a lining. After that one is finished, we will discuss how to make any size. Practice now and make gifts for friends and family. Try pencil cases, make-up bags, tech cord bags, etc. Everyone can use a zip pouch to control all the stuff we carry. You will gain confidence to add zippers to other projects. Kim Corliss One 3-hour session. $25.00 Thursday, Feb Girl s Peek-a-boo Insertion T-bonnet ## This heirloom-inspired design T-bonnet is pure perfection! The delicate bonnet is created with a Swiss edging joined together at the scallops to create a precious peek-a-boo band. The inner lining peeks through the insertion, while entredeux and gathered lace edge the bonnet border to give the design just enough girly frill. Ribbons attach at corners and embellish the bonnet as ties. The pattern includes newborn to 24 months. This is a perfect small project to learn or perfect some basic heirloom sewing techniques. We will break all the rules to create two coordinating bags using Joan Hawley s Becca Bag pattern and her unique One Zip technique - cut a basic zipper apart, take off the pull, and then stitch one side of the zipper tape. We ll put the zipper ends back together to finish this cute bag. Techniques used: covering buttons, making yo-yos, creating fabric flowers and leaves. Monday, Mar Knit Tunic ## Learn to work with knit fabrics while making a stylish tunic. Students will be working with both a sewing machine and a serger. Beginner sewing students should consult instructor before registering. Class Policy Fabrics used in our classes must be purchased at Jackman s. Please support us. Total class fee is required at time of enrollment, which must be at least 7 days in advance. No refunds will be given unless Jackman s cancels the class. If you cancel at least 10 days in advance, you will be given store credit, which may be used for another class or merchandise. You will be called only if a class is cancelled, so mark your calendar, and come prepared to learn and have fun! A Discount Card and a supply list will be given to you upon enrollment.
