Students will be adding color to these pen and ink drawings with colored pencil, water-soluble colored pencils or traditional watercolor paints. Oil Pastels-George Bruce The flexibility of Oil Pastels combined with other mediums such as watercolor, acrylic inks, modeling paste, black Gesso: all on interesting materials, ie., Yupo and Arches Oil Paper tend to create very exciting paintings. Mixed media with a concentration on oil pastels, is the basis of this workshop. Use your creative talents, along with other mediums to create either non-objective or objective paintings. This workshop will concentrate on design and composition along with special techniques for blending, scraping, and using solvents to create interesting creative works of art. We hope to push your creative talents out of the box and end up with some exciting works. The workshop will begin with an intensive critique of 2 pieces of art from each student. The goal is to work these pieces to completion, and to start an additional piece from your own photo. At the end of the class the work will be re-evaluated in an additional critique. 12 REGISTRATION & PAYMENT Full payment is due at the time of registration prior to the first class. No class registrations may be accepted without payment. In person registrations: credit card, cash, or check. Mail registrations: check only. Phone registrations: credit card only. IN PERSON OR BY PHONE: Visit or call the Art League Monday through Friday 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Saturday 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM tel MISSED CLASSES: Classes are never prorated. Refunds are never issued for missed classes. Classes are sold as a full Session. Missed classes may be made up in other classes and times taught by the same teacher at the discretion of the instructor. Students whose schedules will cause them to miss a significant number of classes in a session, may buy single classes at $20 each on the day of the class if the class is not full and the instructor approves. REFUND POLICY & CANCELLATIONS: A student wishing to cancel a class must inform DPAL 5 business days (or more) before the start of the first class to receive a refund. There is a $5 processing fee on all refunds. Classes with insufficient enrollment will be canceled. A refund check for the amount paid will be issued and mailed to the purchaser. DPAL reserves the right to change dates, cancel, postpone, split or combine classes. TRANSFERRING CLASSES: We are unable to transfer students from one class to another. Students may cancel a class (as long as there are 5 business days before the class is due to start) and request a refund check, then pay for the new class. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: Class fees can be waived upon presentation of evidence of financial need. The DPAL offers a $5 discount on class fees to Senior Citizens (62 years and over).
