If your serger intimidates you, this is the class for you. The primary reason one buys a serger is to make garments look polished more professional. Sergers eliminate that homemade look. Plus sergers are better than sewing machines for knit fabric. Come to class with questions & leave with confidence and enthusiasm. Topics include: how to thread and operate your serger, needles, tension adjustment, seam finishes, when to use a sewing machine and when to use a serger, thread choices, curves, corners and patterns. Serger Fun Do you use your serger for seam finishes but nothing else? Are you ready to step up to the next level and explore the decorative stitches a serger can do? A serger is capable of a variety of decorative edge finishes for the OUTSIDE of the garment. It s also capable of handling threads & yarns too thick, or too fuzzy, for a sewing machine. Come to class to play and leave with confidence and enthusiasm to embellish the OUTSIDE of your next garment or home accessory item. This class is for the intermediate seamstress who already knows how to thread her serger. Topics include: manipulating tension, decorative thread choices, flatlock stitch, chain stitch, rolled hem, serger chain braid and coverstitch. Does your serger need repair? Contact Cindy for advice-sew_handy@yahoo.com One Day Workshop November 2 ADULT CLASSES Instructor: Cindy Baker Saturday, Noon - 4 pm Cost: $60/$85 (member/non-member) *Bring to each class: Bring serger, instruction manual, extra machine needles, extension cord and sewing basket.

8 ADULT CLASSES The Figure in Clay The figure is one of the most revered subjects in art history.
