1 Course Information: Description: Instruction Level: 5 Course Art 5 th grade Students will explore the elements and principles of art using a variety of art techniques and methods. We will be learning about past and present trends in art history, as well as art criticism and aesthetics. Each student will learn how to work independently and together as a group. They will be introduced to various properties of art mediums with an emphasis on art production. Content Standard A - Art Production is the creation of art, communicating in a visual language. This process involves making decisions about selecting subject matter, tools, media and techniques to solve problems, apply design concepts, interpret what you see and express what you feel. Explore the elements and principles of design. Learn about concepts in art. Develop skills and techniques to produce quality art. Work independently and collaboratively to produce works of art.
