Learn basic wheel-throwing techniques to build functional pieces like cups, bowls, and vases. Practice handbuilding techniques like slab, coil, and pinch to make functional and sculptural pieces. This class covers basic building and finishing skills. 7 PRINTMAKING STUDIO PRINTMAKING STUDIO: MONOTYPE PRINTING Explore the painterly process of monotype printing. A great way to explore color, composition, and imagery, this printing process allows you to experiment with both additive and subtractive methods of ink application. Appropriate for true beginners and experienced printmakers alike, the instructor will take you through each process step-by-step. No prior experience in printmaking is needed to take this course. Registration fee includes printing plates, ink, some paper, and use of all studio tools. #AC019 DATES: 02/06/17 03/13/17 (M) TIME: 05:30PM-09:00PM FEE: $ PRINTMAKING STUDIO: DRY POINT ETCHING Scratch the surfaces of several plate materials while learning the finer points of dry point etching techniques. Dry point etching involves using a pointed tool to score small indentations into the surface of a printing plate. Appropriate for true beginners and experienced printmakers alike, the instructor will discuss proper ink modification, press usage, print registration, and green plate clean-up processes. No prior experience in printmaking is needed to take this course.
