This patented prcess enables micrn-scale precisin patterning f ptical thin film dichric catings -- which selectively transmit r reflect light accrding t its wavelength -- n a single substrate. With this prcess, we create multipatterned arrays f ptical filters fr use in varius prducts, including micrmechanical and ptical waveguide-based devices and dense wavelength divisin multiplexers. The prcess als can be applied t multipart bnded filter applicatins cmmn t the manufacture f digital data prjectrs, LCD display panels and CCD camera detectrs. In fact, many ptical catings can be patterned, including dielectric multiplelayer reflectrs, bandpass filters, dichric edge filters and bradband anti-reflectin catings. Raw Materials We select nly tp-grade materials fr machining int the ptical cmpnent yu need fr yur applicatin. Glasses and ceramics include Brsilicate glass, fused quartz, Zerdur and ULE. Machining & Finishing Our full-size machine shp creates metal cmpnents and assemblies with equipment such as CNC mills and lathes and ther machine shp tls. Our shaping and finishing capabilities -- duble-side grinding, cutting and plishing equipment fr plan, cncave and cnvex ptics -- apply t materials up t 200 mm in diameter r 220 mm in length. Reticles Our etch-and-fill reticles can be fabricated with line widths frm mm t 0.5 mm. Etchings are available with black, white r red fill. The middle pht in the clumn at right is a clse-up f a mm line-width etching. In additin t etch & fill, reticles can be cnstructed f dielectric and metal vacuum depsited materials. Assembly Our in-huse machining capabilities allw us t prvide a wide range f assembly services, including ptical cementing, thin film and surface munting, thin film bnding, sldering and wiring. Cating & Micrlithgraphy Our patented ptical cating technlgy cmbines ptical thin film depsitin techniques with micrlithgraphic prcedures t prvide a variety f precise, cst-effective, ptical thin film catings. 5 Specular Reflectance Standards We ffer three specular reflectance standards fr use as references when measuring the reflectin f surfaces with high r lw specular reflectivity. The superir catings n the substrates are envirnmentally stable; they are able t withstand high temperatures and mechanical stresses. Reflectivity values fr the standards are built int ur sftware t prvide a reference fr any specular measurement. With the STAN-SSH High-reflectivity Specular Reflectance Standard (abve), yu receive a certificate f calibratin in paper and electrnic frmats. We ffer a STAN-SSH High-reflectivity Specular Reflectance Standard designed as a standard reference when measuring the ptical substrates, ptical catings, machined metals and semicnductr materials. (A NIST versin f the STAN-SSH is als available.) The STAN-SSL Lw-reflectivity Specular Reflectance Standard can be used as a reference when measuring samples such as thin film catings, anti-reflective catings, blcking filters and substrates. STAN-SSH: $499 STAN-SSH-NIST: $999 STAN-SSL: $499 Cllimatin Testers Use Shear-plate Cllimatin Testers t examine the cllimatin f laser light, and as tls fr measuring the wavefrnt curvature and divergence/cnvergence magnitude f ptical cmpnents such as large-radius ptics. Each tester cnsists f a wedged, high-quality ptical flat hused in a heavy-duty andized aluminum frame. Each tester is available in apertures ranging frm 10 mm t 200 mm in diameter, and is useable frm nm. The testers are remarkably easy t use: When a planar wavefrnt is incident at an angle f 45, tw reflected wavefrnts result. The lateral separatin f these wavefrnts is referred t as shear. Fringes -- parallel patterns f light and dark areas -- will be seen in the verlapping regin f the tw images. Cllimating the laser beam is a matter f adjusting the cllimating system until the fringe pattern is parallel t the shadw f the cllimatin tester's reference wire. Optical Flats Each Optical Flat is a finely plished ptical reference surface that can be used t visually inspect the flatness f ptical cmpnents such as mirrrs, filters, prisms and windws. We ffer single-sided ptical flats in either fused silica r Zerdur, each f which can be enhanced with an aluminum cating t increase cntrast and imprve the visual reference. 6 Absrbing Glass Filters Schtt Glass Filters Schtt glass filters absrb light energy in certain regins f the spectrum. These filters fit easily int ur light surces, cuvette hlders and in-line filter hlders. Please check fr availability. Schtt Standard Filters High-pass Filters High-pass Filters are transmissive apprximately 50% at the nminal cutff wavelength, >99% at wavelengths 50 nm higher than the cutff, and less than 0.1% at 50 nm lwer than the cutff.
