3 Year-at-a-Glance: Club Schedule For Quail Creek Fine Arts Painting Club members there is something happening throughout the entire calendar year, but the bulk of our programs occur during the October through April time period. Here is an overview that will help you use this online catalog. Updates to the catalog occur on a regular basis. Fall 2016: We kick off the year with the Come and Try It workshop series. These appear on Pg. 5 in the catalog, followed by Fall offerings in date order. Classes usually last several weeks or more. Workshops and Seminars are shorter in duration. The Plein Air Group schedule for the year is located on Pg. 12. Winter/Spring 2017: After a holiday break, the Come and Try It workshops repeat and classes, workshops and seminars begin again. The Winter/Spring section of the catalog begins on Pg. 15. We slow down in the summer when many members are away, but offer a few informal workshops and classes that will be announced via our newsletter or website as they are scheduled. The catalog concludes with general club information. The painting club: providing creative opportunities for Quail Creek residents. 4 Open Studio All clubs in the CATC Building are required to have a trained monitor on duty whenever members are present. The QCFAPC shares the Fine Arts Studio with two other clubs. See the schedule below. Clubs must make time available for open studio during which members can work on their own projects. Given the limited number of hours the painting club has exclusive use of the studio, our large membership, and the full schedule of classes, the club has chosen a unique approach to ensure members have plenty of choices for open studio time. During all of the hours the club has the room, two tables are set aside for open studio use. This means even when classes, workshops and seminars are occurring, members can use these two designated tables for their own purposes. Open studio is not a way to take a free class, audit a class, or do any activity that takes away from the needs of students and teachers. Teachers serve as monitors for classes and have the right to ask anyone to leave the open studio tables, or to move as needed to another table. Open studio means you come and go as you please. Use it. Enjoy it. Don t be afraid to come in when classes are underway, just be respectful of your fellow painters. The painting club relies on volunteers like Ric for everything we do. Fine Arts Room Schedule Only the times shown in green are designated for exclusive use by our club. The time shown as unscheduled means all three clubs can use the room, but monitors for each club have to be present. Since most painters prefer not to work when the gourd club equipment is in use, we do not provide a monitor for unscheduled time. There are some evening hours not currently in use. If members have an interest in having the room open on Monday or Friday evening, please contact the president. Procedures: Aluminum foil shall be used to line the studio easels drip shelf. These shall be installed by each member as they begin to paint and shall be removed at the end of the session. Any wet paint shall be wiped off the easels if possible. For instance, at the end of a class all members shall have responsibility for cleaning the studio and returning it to its original configuration and condition.
