1 Quail Creek fine Arts Painting Club December 2017 Our last meeting of the year! Monday December 4, 1:00pm Please join us at the last meeting of 2017 for refreshments and a chance to visit with fellow artists. We will not have a speaker at this meeting. Please bring your latest art creations for Show & Tell. We all want to see what you have been working on Reminder: You can pay your membership dues with a check, $25.00 for individuals and $35.00 for family membership. Please complete the short membership applications, so that we can make sure we have current phone and information. Applications are available at the studio or at our website.

2 November 5-6 th the QCFAPC had a great show for the annual Fall Festival. 13 artists participated and 43 pieces of art sold. Goodbye to Susan Moberg, who did a great job of chairing this show and then left us to move to Showlow, AZ. We ll miss her. Susan at Fall Festival! In Honor of esteemed colleague Jim Asbell, who passed away on October 29 th, the Club held a fundraising event to support the American Cancer Society, in conjunction with the Fall Festival. A BIG THANK YOU to all artists who donated art for the charity event and artists who donated their time to make this event happen in a very short time-frame. The event was very successful and raised over $1400. Molly Hyde at the fund raising event.

5 The Fall/Winter Catalog is out! Get ready to register for classes that start in January. Visit the catalog at: Please look at the catalog for classes, activities and the exciting workshop presented by Joye Moon. Joye Moon's Watercolor Workshop will deal with exploring traditional and experimental watercolor techniques that can be incorporated into your individual style of painting. Leave your preconceived ideas of abstract painting at home but do bring along an open mind and the willingness to experiment and have fun! Joye will demonstrate every aspect of each project, breaking it down into segments so everyone can understand what the techniques are before actually painting on your own. Joye prides herself in giving personal attention to each student and helping you grow as an artist from where you are at in your artistic journey. There will be an informative yet gentle critique at the end of each day so we can all learn from one another. Joye will present a 2 day workshop dealing with watercolor techniques she has developed over her many years of painting. This workshop will be dedicated to one painting using a unique way to design and abstract a flower. You will paint a traditional flower/cactus but will complete the painting using different substances such as salt, gauze, watercolor pencils and spraying paint. A major focus will be in design and creativity. You are sure to leave this workshop with newly found techniques as well as a renewed creative enthusiasm for painting. 7 ARTIST OF THE MONTH! Peggy Kimes watercolor classes when I came to Quail Creek. I've explored many mediums such as acrylics, pastels, drawing, mixed media & ceramics. I'm attracted to art in all forms such as books, movies, museums etc. Taking art classes has been a good way to learn new mediums and techniques. I love when the kid in me takes over; having fun wit I started taking watercolor classes when I came to Quail Creek. I've explored many mediums such as acrylics, pastels, drawing, mixed media & ceramics.
