1 Bev Remillard Bev Remillard Alicia Pkwy #E168 Laguna Hills, CA A little about me Loving romance and all it entails has naturally led me toward pretty, tasteful and romantic fabrics. I'm inspired to design patterns and quilts with the same charm and grace as the fabric designer. I love colors of all hues and floral prints are my favorite but once in a while I brake out of my box and play with brights and batiks. Making quilts and designing patterns is such a passion that over the past 18 years I have been able to produce quilts of varying ability and challenges to give me a sense of joy. Like most quilters, I m usually working on about 5-10 projects which teaches me as well.i truly enjoy teaching and watching other quilters explore color, patterns and design and consider myself blessed to see their finished beauty. 2 Lectures Simple Lady Quilting This lecture/group participation is NEW and focuses on the joys of classic style in a modern world. We discuss the project quilters as I like to call them..todays quilters who are trying to fit it all in, which can be challenging. I share quick techniques and practical projects to melt the fun of quilting and the importance of tradition. I teach finding an inspiration and learning an observations using the most modern techniques while sharing the legacy we all love. My designs and love of quilting are displayed with my trunk show for all levels of quilters. This lecture will inform and inspire even a seasoned quilters as well as create a spark in new/beginner quilters. The fee for this lecture is $ expenses Color Style This lecture focuses on the pleasures and challenges of choosing the right fabrics, colors, patterns, etc for the quilt you d like to make. I ve been very blessed with an eye for color and I take chances with the combinations of patterns and I use a simple method I developed called Reading the Color Color is a big struggle for a lot of quilters and they need a formula - the complements that I have received have encouraged me to share with others how I go about making the choices I do. This lecture is part information and part fun I include the guild group in the discussion. Always a favorite with a colorful workshop to bring it home.. The fee for this lecture is $ expenses New Lectures for 2017 Designing Style This lecture is NEW and so exciting I enjoy teaching others how to discover their own style of quilt design. After many classes and workshops in my earlier days I finally discovered I wanted to start designing my own quilts and before I knew it I had developed a recognizable style. I have developed a lecture and workshop to encourage other quilters to jump out the nest and begin a process of discovery on the own. I love seeing the development and quilter within us all! The workshop is fun and challenging I give them a project, but they will add their own style to finished quilt. The fee for this lecture is $ expenses I try to keep my all lectures light hearted with plenty of free discussion. I enjoy interacting with the group and love the feed back they often share. 3 Workshops I love to teach workshops and spend the day quilting with you!! My workshops are all day classes generally 6 hours. I can provide kits for most workshops and prefer a minimum of 5 participants and can max at 25. Please ask for a volunteer to be an administrator and helper. 9 Patch Fun Makes a great topper or Baby quilt 1. One day workshop relate to Simple Lady or Color Style The following projects work best with 2 or 3 choices taught simultaneously. The group likes having a choice and also they like being able to see other options. This workshop is helpful in driving home the inclusion of younger, inexperienced & new quilters. Ask your members to invite a friend who has just begun quilting or has been quilting for 1-3 years. Time will not allow for teaching beginning basics during this workshop, so it is important that students have sewing machine and rotary cutting knowledge! Kits are available. 4 One day workshop related to Color, Design or Simple Lady From the following designs, please choose one for the group. In these workshops, I relate color choices beyond the norm and show the process of design techniques. We also explore how to use patterns in the quilt, to cover double duty design fun! 5 Two- day workshop related to Color or Design Style In these workshop, choose one Design for the class, I show the group how to create and design a quilt without all the technical work. I also show them how to adapt a pattern - I like to give them an opportunity to develop their own style using the components of a project and some of the basics of quilt design. The project has many variables and choices so they can follow their heart. This workshop is best for beginner plus to advanced students. Kits available. 6 Teacher for hire. (949) As much as I love visiting guilds and quilting groups, I love teaching the most. I have found that sometimes a guild or group is interested in a workshop without a lecture, enter Bev I m an experienced teacher with many years of experience and have often taught bring your own project classes. We all love to sew and quilt, that is our bond so if you find the need for an experienced teacher for a workshop or event, please keep me in mind. I have many patterns to choose from and often make kits for your members. I love meeting new quilters and can t think of a better way to spend the day or weekend.
