1 February, March, April 2016 Class Schedule As I prepare this Class Schedule for publication, it is snowing! Finally! After a January that had hardly any snow - I thought we were going to go the rest of the winter without see any more of the white stuff. I know, many of you think I am crazy, but I do like to see a little bit of the snow during the winter months. It just works well to cover up some of the winter ugly. We have been busy working on projects to share with you and we hope that you will join us for a class soon. We have included some repeats of popular classes and added some new projects. Check out all of the information that is included. We have some information on Special Events, Seminars and Retreats that we will be hosting later this year. Please reserve the dates on your calendar so that you won t miss any of these great events. If you are not sure about a class, please give us a call for more information. NEW Block of the Month - Amish with a Twist III I have on my "Bucket List" - Make an Amish Quilt! This will be it! Who is ready to join me? The yardage is all cut and ready to go. This will be a BOM that you pick up (or arrange for mailing) the Monthly Pattern and sew at your own pace at home. The colors are beautiful. The fabrics are prepared so that you can make either of the 2 quilts. If you would like to make the quilt with appliques shown in the lower right, you will have the OPTION to purchase the appliques LASER CUT for an additional charge. You can begin once you have paid the Kit/Pattern Fee. If you would like to pay in 3 equal installments, that is also a possibility. Don't delay! Feb am - 1 pm Or 6-9:00 pm Donelle is a Nationally certified teacher for the Sew Steady / Westalee Free Motion Quilting Techniques. Known as Free Motion on Training Wheels, this technique is very easy and you will be amazed at how easy it is to do all types of free motion quilting. There are over 300 templates available. We will begin with the basic starter kit and you will be doing free motion quilting in straight lines, flowers, clam shells, and much more within the 3 hour time period. We will start from the very beginning and work through completing a table mat or wall hanging. You will experience rotary cutting, piecing, half-square triangles, borders, corner-stones, machine outline quilting and creating a binding by turning the back fabric to the front and creating mitered corners.

We will be making the wristlet with the decorative accent strip. Make one and you will want to make more. With the inter-lining, this bag is very much like a VB bag. You are going to love it! So easy and great for gifts OPPOSITES ATTRACT Cost: $ Supplies Friday, Feb am - 3 pm Have you ever purchased a jelly roll (2 ½ strip grouping) not knowing what you wanted to do with it, but wanting it to look like more than just a bunch of strips put together haphazardly? This quilt could be just what you re looking for. Its hexagonal shapes are much easier than they look, with no y-seams in the construction. Uses the 60º triangle for easy cutting. For intermediate quilters SUNSET TABLE TOPPER Cost: $ Supplies Monday, Feb am - 1 pm Or 6-9:00 pm Imagine a tropical sunset running across your table. Or choose the colors of your room and blend them together in this modern version of a table topper. This is a quick, fun project using half square triangles. Great project for advanced beginners SHAMROCK TABLE MAT - Mystery Project Cost: $ Supplies Tuesday, March 1 10 am - 1 pm Or 6-9:00 pm Bring 6-2 x 40 (width of fabric) strips of a variety of green fabrics or if using fabric from Fat Quarters, you will need 12-2 x 20 strips. You will also need 1 1/4 yd. of a background fabric (white, cream and can be a fabric with a small print). The rest of the supplies will be on the class handout. This will be a great class and lots of fun as we make a table mat for use in March! Invite a friend! Great for advanced beginners TIDDLYWINKS RUNNER Cost: $ Supplies Friday, March 4 10 am - 3 pm This table runner adds a nice touch of color and pattern to your table. Use colors of your décor or colors to fit the different seasons and make many. It is ideal for smaller tables. The different Quick and Easy tools make this project look professional. We will be experiencing all of the Quick Easy Mitered Border & Mitered Binding Tools by SEW BIZ. If you do not have the tools, you can use ours! Many of you already have the book for this project - Runners Etc. Join us as we make this beautiful piece of furniture that will be a great addition to your décor. Use 1, 2 or many colors of fabric to create these one of a kind beauties. 5 683. T-SHIRT QUILT RETREAT Cost: $ Supplies Friday, March am - 6 pm & Saturday, March 19 9 am - 3 pm We will start with at least 12 T-shirts and you can build your quilt from there. Learn the secrets of stabilizing your fabric, building a block, sashing, corners etc. Select 12+ shirts and bring them to class. Have a theme and a color scheme or work from your fabric stash. Once you get started, you won t want to stop. This will get you started in time to finish a quilt for graduation! 684. Beefed Up DIVA WALLET Cost: $ Supplies Mon. March am - 1 pm OR 6-9:00 pm If you loved the Diva Wallet, you will really love the new, improved version. Using the same pattern, but adding, subtracting and tweaking the construction details gives a sturdier and more attractive finished look. This is Spring Break for many of you that are teachers and this is a great way to celebrate some time off. We will be moving things back out of the way to make room for a number of you but you need to get registered early so that you don t miss the fun. I am looking forward to sewing with you. WELCOME SPRING BENCH PILLOW Cost: $ Supplies Friday, March am - 3 pm Give ol man winter the boot and welcome spring with this bright and cheery bench pillow by Kimberbell. Applique in the embroidery hoop (including SVG files for electronic cutting) and dimensional flowers combine for a fresh and fun project. For all embroidery machine owners.

6 Page DUFFLE BAG Cost: $ Supplies Saturday, March 26 9 am - 3 pm Quilt your own fabric and make one of these beautiful Duffle Bags that you will use on many occasions. Make one for yourself or for a relative. Several sizes & styles from which to choose. We will have many tips & hints to make this project even easier. Select from our beautiful fabrics to have a unique and one-of-a-kind creation. In order to complete this project in class, you will need to complete some homework prior to coming to class, so don t wait until the last minute Community Service Event - Sewing for Tuesday, March am - 4 pm Come for the day or just a few hours. We have the supplies! We just need you to come and help do the sewing. For complete information on this project, please go here. Take time to watch the video on that page so that you will know how the sewing is done for the project. This project is to support Jade Metz who is originally from Marion! She is, with lots of sewing help from women like you, impacting Uganda! The women there are learning to sew and make the sanitary pads. Some of them are even becoming entrepreneurs by working together to sew and sell these items to others. It is super exciting to be part of this! Won t you join us in this effort? 690. We will be inserting a zipper, doing channel quilting and adding a lining. These are very useful and easy to make Manage Your Sewing Machine Cost: $25.00 Includes Supplies Saturday, April 2 10 am - 1 pm Do you have a sewing machine that you don t know how to use? Don t know a presser foot from a foot pedal? Confused as to how to thread it? Need some help? Bring it to class with all of the manuals, accessories, etc. and we will help you tame that tiger! We are serious! Any make or model - I am up to the challenge! 692. 7 Page IT S BACK! Basic Computer Class for Owners of Embroidery Machines Cost: $15.00 Thursday, April 7 6-9:00 pm Don t let this be you! We have been asked to offer this class again. If you need help understanding your way around your computer, this class is for you. We will help you understand how to navigate your PC so that you can save your embroidery designs and KNOW where you put them. We will also help you understand how to organize your files. Things that you will learn: how to make & find files, how to transfer your embroidery designs from one place to another, and much more. Don t say I don t know how to do that again! Come to class and we will help you learn how to manage your computer. NOTE: For this class, it is mandatory that you have an EXTER- NAL MOUSE EDGE TO EDGE QUILTING ON THE EMBROIDERY MACHINE Cost: $12.00 Sat., April 9 10am - 1 pm Let Linda teach you the technique of Edge to Edge Quilting. You will get a lot of use from learning this technique. There are many quilting patterns that are available for use with this technique and after you learn the basics, you will be able to do any of the options. This is one of those techniques that look complicate, but isn t. Linda has worked out the bugs and you will be confident when you leave the class! Remember, it is done in the embroidery hoop! 695.
