(MENS COVER) What you will need Ÿ COMPRESSED BATTING Ÿ FLEECE (LINING) Ÿ TEAR AWAY STABILIZER Ÿ HOOK AND LOOP TAPE Ÿ EMBROIDERY THREADS Ÿ MAGIC TAPE 1 2 Let s Begin Sleeve Back We start with making the back first. Ÿ The same method is used for the mens cover as well. Ÿ Hoop up some stabilizer and stitch out the die line. Ÿ Remove the hoop from the machine and turn upside down. Ÿ Cut a piece of compressed batting and fleece large enough to cover the die line. Ÿ Stick the compressed batting down and then the fleece, with the right side showing outwards.

Ÿ Cut a piece of stripe fabric and stick it down over the die line on the top side of the hoop. out the tack down stitch. 5 Ÿ Remove the hoop from the machine Ÿ Trim the fabric across the top of the part of the stitch out. This is the flap part of the design. Ÿ Trim both the fleece, compressed batting and stripe fabric. Ÿ The area to be cut back is shown in red in the photo. 6 Ÿ Stitch out the satin stitch edging. Ÿ Remove the stitch out from the hoop and remove all excess stabilizer and trim any excess compressed batting down to the stitch line. Ÿ Leave about a half inch of fabric around the rest of the stitch out.

3 1 Sleeve Front Ÿ Hoop up some stabilizer. Ÿ Stitch out the die line. 2 Ÿ Cut and stick a piece of stripe fabric over the entire die line area. 3 Ÿ Stitch out the tack down stitch. 4 INNER LINES Ÿ Cut two pieces of lace edging. Stick them down over the two inner lines with the shaped edge facing outwards.

4 5 Ÿ Stick down the remaining piece of hook and loop tape (hook piece). Ÿ This piece should be stuck down over the lace edging if it exceeds over the die line for the hook and loop tape. 6 it down. Ÿ The machine will do a double run over the hook and loop tape. 7 Ÿ Cut a strip of polka dot fabric longer than the length of the stitch out and about two inches wider the middle strip. Aprox.: 9 1/2"x4" Ÿ Fold the fabric in on its length by 3/4" on either side. This will be then 9 1/2"x2 1/2" Ÿ Stick this strip down over the center part. Ÿ Refer to the images 7 and 8. TRIM OFF EXCESS FABRIC 8 Ÿ Stitch down the fabric.

5 9 10 LINE UP STITCH EDGES Ÿ Turn the hoop upside down. Ÿ Cut and stick down a piece of fleece. it down. Ÿ Remove the hoop from the machine and trim off excess fabric, compressed batting and fleece from the top flat edge as shown in step 8's photo. Ÿ Onto the final assembly. Ÿ Take the BACK stitch out and lay it with the fabric (stripe) side facing the other fabric side. Ÿ Check that the stitch edges for both sides line up carefully. Ÿ Stick it down. 11 Ÿ Stitch out the zig zag stitch. Ÿ Remove the stitch out from the hoop. Ÿ Remove the excess stabilizer. Ÿ Trim excess compressed batting down to the stitching. Ÿ Trim excess fabric down close to the zig zag stitching. Ÿ Turn the stitch out inside out. Your lacy Ereader Sleeve

6 The Mens Compass Sleeve front To make the Mens Compass EReader Sleeve, you follow steps 1 to 6 of the Sleeve Back. Use Your choice of fabrics for this. Make the sleeve front as shown below and assemble as in steps 10 and 11 of the Sleeve Front. 1 Ÿ Hoop up some stabilizer. Ÿ Stitch out the die line. 2 Ÿ Cut a piece of compressed batting to cover the entire die line area. Stick it down. Ÿ Cut a piece of olive cotton twill and stick it over the larger part of the die line as shown in the red box in photo 1. 3 Ÿ Stitch out the tack down and the design.

7 4 Ÿ Stick down the remaining piece of hook and loop tape (hook piece). 5 FOLDED EDGE Ÿ Cut a piece of brown coarse weave fabric larger than needed. Ÿ Fold one long edge over by about a ½". Ÿ The folded edge must overlap the bottom stitch line by a fraction. Ÿ Stick this down. Ÿ Refer to the arrows in the photo for the folded edge and placement. 6 Ÿ Stitch down the fabric and the piece of loop tape. 7 Ÿ Turn the hoop upside down. Ÿ Cut a piece of fleece (I used some tartan). Ÿ Stick it down. Ÿ Stitch this down.

8 TRIM OFF EXCESS FABRIC Ÿ Remove the hoop from the machine and trim off the excess fabric out the satin stitch edging. Ÿ Repeat steps 10 and 11 in the Front Sleeve part of the tutorial to assemble this sleeve. Your Adventurous Compass Ereader Sleeve
