3 1. Attach stabilizer to selected Hoop that support 8 x 8 stitch field. 2. Center the 10 x 10 background fabric on top of the hoop. 3. Load design: 22 file. 4. Attach the hoop. 5. If using a tear away stabilizer, use the basting stitch on embroidery machine to secure the background fabric to the stabilizer. If using Sticky Stabilizer there is not a need to use the basting stitch. 6. Make sure the background fabric is still centered and is flat. 1 White Placement 2 Use neutral thread color or thread color to match shape 2. 2 Gray Tack Down 2 Place applique fabric on top of Placement stitch for shape 2. Unfold applique fabric for shape 1.3. This will be a partial Satin stitch for shape 1.3; full satin for 1.1 & 1.2. Make sure the applique fabric for shape 1.3 is folded back after partial satin stitch to clear shape Lt Brown Satin 1.4 Recommend to use thread color to match shape Gray Tack Down 1.3 Unfold applique fabric for shape 1.3; make sure it lays flat on top of remaining Placement stitch. TRIM the remaining applique fabric for shape Brown Satin 1.3 Finish Satin stitch for shape 1.3. Fold the large block fabric in half and in half again and finger press the center. Open the fabric and place the fabric on top of the embroidery hoop Position the hoop so that the needle is positioned in the center of the hoop. Move the fabric to align the center crease below the needle. Smooth out the fabric; make sure it continues to lay flat during the tack down stitch. TRIM: Remove the hoop from the embroidery unit and place it on a flat Page 5 of 6

6 59 Tan Satin Background surface. Carefully cut a slit in the center part of the fabric, close to the tack down stitch. TRIM the inner circle of the fabric. Attach hoop back to the embroidery unit. Recommend to use thread color to match fabric. Cut or trim the threads on the back of the design to remove the stabilizer. Trim the 10 x 10 square about ¼ from the center circle. Trim the larger background block to 12 ½ x 12 ½. Page 6 of 6
