I am quite proud of myself because in September I reorganized my sewing room and got rid of lots of stuff, mess or crap, whatever you want to call it. I had a friend help me and she is wonderfully brutal which is what I needed. The last thing she said was Keep it as neat as it is now. My UFO s are all in containers or bags ready to go and I can say that I have finished 3-4 of them!!! The trouble is that I always want to start something new, but I think we are all guilty of that. 5 LIBRARY The library will be open from 6:30-7:00 and for 20 minutes during the break at each Guild meeting. Each member can take out 5 books at a time but please return them the following month. There is a $2.00 per month charge for late returns and that charge is doubled monthly. If there are any books that you would like the library to buy, please let us know and we will do our best to purchase them. See you in October. 5

6 CUDDLE QUILTS November 20th *Potluck*. Time -9:30 till 2:30 pm. Place --Harmony Baptist Church, 1763 Upper James Street above Rymal Road across from the Egg and I Restaurant. Supplies needed - A project to work on, or a kit will be available for you. Bring your sewing machine if you wish. We supply a cutting station (with cutting boards and rotary cutters), plus irons and ironing boards. We usually have hand sewing to be done, so if you don't want to bring your machine you don't have to. We will be bringing quilting kits to the Guild Meetings for those of you that can't make it on Cuddle Quilt Day. So come see me at the back of the room. If you are making your own quilt for Cuddle Quilts, please remember that 100 % cotton is appreciated. If you need batting and backing to quilt your quilt please Pam Smith. I will bring it to the Guild meetings for you. Placemats -If you are making placemats the size is 18.5" 12.5". Brenda Lupton and Pam Smith are collecting them until the December Meeting. Next cuddle Quilt day is January 15th. There is no meeting in December. **The September, October and Cuddle Quilt pictures are now available for your viewing on our website. 7 Submitted by Karen Laposa: Wrtitten by Hélène Blanchet: "I was listening to a CBC Radio show on salty language and I came to the conclusion that just like colourful language can make an anecdote more amusing so too can embellishments make your quilts that much more interesting. The radio piece ended with someone saying, "Colourful socks are not necessary. The cushion on the couch is not necessary. But it's the things that aren't necessary that make life more interesting, isn't it?" I think that goes for quilts, too. Embellishments can turn an ordinary quilt into a work of art. PUBLICITY & ARCHIVES Thank you for your assistance with the bookmark and poster distribution. I would appreciate your feedback regarding the venues that posted our advertisements.
