2 STERLING HEIGHTS REC CENTER 2508 St Charles Place Village of Tamarind Come out and sew with us all day from 11:30am to 3:50pm. Lots of fun for everyone. They even have special themes going on some Sunday s. 3rd Sunday is Scrappy Sunday

3 SOME IMPORTANT DATES COMING UP.. UFO S ARE DUE ON APRIL 18 TH HONOR FLIGHTS ARE IN DESPARATE NEED OF RED WHITE AND BLUE QUILTS, THE NEXT FLIGHT IS MARCH 29 TH AND 26 ARE NEEDED. WE WILL ALSO NEED QUILTS FOR THE SEPTEMBER 6 TH FLIGHT. Quilts should be 54X62. Please make them red, white and blue. FEBRUARY 28 TH will be our luncheon with the B s. Hope everyone signed up to bring something yummy.

4 QUILTS OF THE WEEK NEED VOLUNTEERS DESPARATELY.PLEASE SIGN UP. The book is always out and you all have such beautiful quilts, they should be shared. We need some new people to show off they work. Wanda calls this Chicken Little and the Sunflowers. Marge and her teamed up and took a class with Judy Porter and this is a reversible quilt them doing side A, batting and side B at the same time. Lot of fun according to her. Quilt of the week from January 27 th Quilt of the week for February 7 th. We were on a sunflower theme for this newsletter. Sunflower quilt done with 1930 material and possibly quilted in the 1980 s. This was given to her by a very good friend who passed away in She believes it was bought in the Appalachian Mountains.

5 The next block of the month is presented by Arlene and looks like this. It is called A Clover Blossom and is due by March 14 th See Arlene if you need help with this block. It s not as hard as it might appear to be. Show and Tell.Diane, Joyce and Patti MARCH 18 TH IS THE GARAGE SALE AT SAVANNAH CENTER. MARCH 28 TH IS OUR SHOW WITH ALEX ANDERSON AT THE NEW COVENANT CHURCH AT WEDGEWOOD DRIVE. NEW CLASSES ADDED TO QUILD PROGRAMS.MEMORY, SIMPLE SQUARES BY OUR OWN DONNA PARAISI AND STAINED GLASS. MARCH 14 TH ALL DAY SEW AND WE WILL LEARN HOW TO DO AN ENGLISH PAPER PIECING BOWL.

6 Congratulations to Delores for a special ribbon for her Star of Bethlehem quilt. I have put this picture in before but I think it is worth putting it in again. Jan s challenge quilt was done as a square within a square and has 3 embellishments. It has the theme of music inspired by her husband who played in a band. Nice job Jan. Would you believe Joan called this quilt a white car!!!! It was done in fleece for a friend in an assisted living home.

7 And some more show and tell Donna, Barb and I think Judy Rosemary on the right with her UFO and Janet on the bottom with her pillow from a class. Show and tell is so much fun because we see so many different projects.
