3 Overview Antarctic Meterlgical Research Center (AMRC) has been cllecting and prviding a unique dataset f US Antarctic meterlgical data fr ver 24 years As f August 31 st, 2015 the AMRC (the grant) is nt lnger funded by NSF New plar cyberinfrastruture prject with these bjectives: Opprtunity t decide the future US Antarctic meterlgical data enterprise Data flw frm the surce t archive with access t real-time and nn-real-time users alike Define a sustainable infrastructure

4 Current Status AMRC is still functining at very minimal level Mnthly data archive f USAP main statins, field camps, and research vessels Only real-time data generated are AWS bservatins/prducts and Antarctic Satellite Cmpsites Antarctic-IDD still peratinal ASC t becme a primary relay/nde AMRC t remain a backup relay/nde Stpped creatin & archive f GTS/NOAAprt available data Pint surce bservatins (synptic, aircraft, etc.) Numerical mdel (GFS, ECMWF, WWFM, etc.) Sme satellite (Metp, NOAA GAC & LAC, etc. frm SSEC Data Center) Only maintenance f the existing AMRC infrastructure

After AMOMFW the Task Frce will meet fr ne day: 9 June 2016 (This Thursday!) t discuss pssibilities fr the future US Antarctic meterlgical cyberinfrastructure Expectatins and recmmendatins will be detailed in a reprt t the NSF, written and submitted by the Task Frce in Summer f 2017 AMRC s current minimal data archive rle ends in ~September f 2017 with the cnclusin f this prject
