But nn-prfits are als an integral part f the ecnmic well-being f ur state and natin. New Jersey nn-prfits: Emply 314,000 peple nearly 10% f the state s private wrkfrce and mre than cnstructin, finance, insurance and many ther large cmmercial industries. Spend ver $38 billin annually much f it within the Garden State. Marshal the energies and talents f 1.5 millin vlunteers every year. There s n dubt that ur plicy, legal, and philanthrpic landscapes are shifting. Organizatins that are prepared t navigate change and transitin whether unexpected r purpsefully planned - will be better equipped t influence change and adapt as needed. Including stakehlders f all stripes, using effective cmmunicatins fr change, and frging strng and diverse partnerships are just a few f the strategies needed fr strength, impact and sustainability. Our 2016 cnference, attended by nearly 500 peple and widely praised fr its breadth and cntent, featured internatinally recgnized speakers as well as experts in a variety f fields pertinent t nn-prfit peratins. The cnference was prmted bradly thrugh direct mail and electrnic utreach t ver 4,500 rganizatins as well as in the mass media, the Center s website, scial media and multiple ther venues. We expect ur 2017 cnference attendance t tp 500 nn-prfit decisin-makers and champins. Abut the Center fr Nn-Prfits Since its funding in 1982, the Center fr Nn-Prfits has been, and remains, New Jersey s nly umbrella rganizatin fr all charities in the State. We prvide public educatin and advcacy t address the cllective needs f nn-prfits; management and cmpliance guidance, wrkshps and publicatins t help nn-prfits strengthen their peratins; and cst-saving prgrams and member services t help nn-prfits stretch scarce resurces. The Center gives nn-prfits the infrmatin and tls they need t pursue their missins mre effectively, strengthening nn-prfits as individual rganizatins and as a cmmunity.
