What does process oriented art mean? No cookie cutter projects, EVER! Providing children with HUGE sheets of paper Painting with mediums other than paint Using tools other than brushes Creating art that doesn t have to look like anything! 7 YOUNG CHILDREN The Clay Studio for Young Children In KAC s clay studio, children will learn about the properties of this wonderful medium creating a variety of sculptures and pottery. 9 KIDS NEW! SCULPTING ANIMALS Gr. 5 & up Learn to sculpt realistic animals in this creative clay class. We will study the anatomy of different types of animals as you create the animal of your choice. Students may also morph their form into something mythical such as a unicorn or dragon. An additional $2 per week clay and firing fee will be applied at checkout. Clay has a calming effect which keeps them engaged in a single task while their imagination takes over. Students will make a variety of forms in this class, learning the basics of hand-building techniques as they design and create their own masterpieces! Create props, rehearse your lines and have fun writing dialogue for characters in these one-act play reading & writing classes led by author and creative writing teacher, Kim Kovach. 11 KIDS STEAM (SCIENCE + TECHNOLOGY + ENGINEERING + ART + MATH) MAKE A FILM & MORE Grades 3-5. Students will design and shoot their own movie from a script they write themselves! Class will cover screenwriting, storyboarding, shooting, acting for the camera, and editing on imovie. Our film will then be posted on YouTube/Vimeo to be shared with friends. 12 KIDS COMPUTER SKILLS FOR YOUNG ARTISTS Grades 1-5. Motivated by curiosity, creativity and experimentation, our youngest students will quickly learn to navigate Powerpoint, Word and Photoshop as well as building their foundational computer skills. In this class students will play with these programs to create amazing illustrated stories (Powerpoint), book covers or birthday cards (Word), and photomontages and digital paintings (Photoshop). Students will stretch their creative thinking and learn the computer skills they need for middle school projects and presentations. Thur Fee: $516 A. Kanaris 12wks ANIMATION FOR KIDS Grades 3-5. 14 TEEN FASHION ILLUSTRATION Grades Learn the tools and techniques specific to the fashion industry while designing and illustrating your own fashion line. Students will learn to draw the elongated proportions of the fashion model and other concepts such as color and pattern, fabric selection, shape, line, texture, and composition. This class will also cover perspective, background design, special effect techniques, and body language. 18 ADULT & TEEN WORKSHOPS ACRYLICS / IMPRESSIONIST LANDSCAPE If Claude Monet were painting today, he would most likely be using acrylic paint! Acrylics dry very fast, allowing for layering without the wait time, making it a great choice for outdoor painting. Acrylics may be used opaquely or transparently, and with the addition of various acrylic mediums, they can impersonate almost any other type of paint! 19 COLOR MIXING Although it is one of the most essential tools an artist may have at their disposal, this fundamental is often overlooked or rushed.
