18 EMBROIDERY STEP 1 Prep fabric by applying 2 sheets of StabilStick TearAway to the wrong side of the fabric. Note - this stabilizes your fabric so it isn t too limp and produces a nice, crisp project. STEP 2 Hoop two sheets of Aquamesh. Sew placement stitch. STEP 3 Place fabric over placement stitch and make sure to cover stitches completely. Stitch cut line and tackdown. Optional - use TearAway tape to hold items in place. 18
19 EMBROIDERY STEP 4 Remove tape, carefully. Remove hoop from machine, DO NOT unhoop fabric/stabilizer. Trim along cut line. Stitch outer cover stitch. Repeat placement and cut line steps for the remaining appliques. STEP 5 Stitch inner design work. Stitch inner cover stitch. STEP 6 Remove from hoop, trim Aquamesh ¼ -½ away from fabric, be careful NOT to cut your eyelets or buttonettes! Wash away stabilizer and let dry. Note - for instructions and tips, see last page. 19
20 ASSEMBLY STEP 1 With the right side facing up, attach the stem to the slice using alligator clamps. Repeat this process for the remaining pumpkin slices and stems. STEP 2 Attach the the bottom of the slice to the base by inserting the buttonettes from the base into the eyelets of the pumpkin slice. NOTE - For lace pumpkins, make sure the base fabric faces to the inside and vice versa for applique pumpkins. STEP 3 Once the slices are attached to the base, attach each slice to its neighbor. NOTE - buttonettes should be facing outwards. 20
21 ASSEMBLY STEP 4 Once the slices are attached together, attach each stems to its neighbor. NOTE - buttonettes should be facing outwards. STEP 5 Attach the leaf by inserting the buttonette into one of the provided holes in the middle of a stem. Repeat step to attach the vine. 21
22 INSTRUCTIONS General Freestanding Lace Guidelines Supplies: General Instructions Embroidery Thread: 1. Hoop two layers of OESD AquaMesh Stabilizer. Use the same embroidery thread in the bobbin as the needle. 2. Attach the hoop to the machine and select the design of your Needles: choice. Use an Organ 80/12 Titanium needle for extended needle life. 3. Stitch the design. Stabilizer: 4. Remove the hoop from the machine and the design from the Use OESD AquaMesh stabilizer. hoop.
