7 General Lace Guidelines: Needles and Threads: Use the same thread in the bobbin as the needle. sacord Polyester Thread is recommended because of the strength and durability of the thread. All designs were digitized to be used with 40 wt. polyester thread. Designs may be stitched using Yenmet etallic Thread, or Yenmet ridescent Thread in the needle and the bobbin. An Organ 80/12 needle should be use. For best results, use an Organ 80/12 Titanium needle. tabilizer: Hoop a single layer of water-soluble stabilizer. We recommend OED Aqua esh tabilizer or OED Badgemaster tabilizer. Note: Use two layers of water-soluble stabilizer if design begins to tear away from stabilizer prematurely in the hoop. Embroider the design and remove the hoop from the machine and the stabilizer from the hoop. Cut away excess stabilizer. Remove remaining stabilizer rinsing under warm running water. DO NOT RNE all stabilizer from those items that need to be shaped, or if you wish the lace to have a stiffer feel. However, do note that the thread may appear a shade darker. f you happen to wash too much out, easily re-stiffen diluting some stabilizer scraps in water and dipping the item in the solution. hape lace over whatever shape you want it to be when it s dry, such as an ornament or ball, bottle or flat surface. For very soft lace, rinse until all traces of the stabilizer are gone. Handy Hints: A pair of hemostats, tweezers, or a tiny crochet hook can be extremely helpful when inserting the buttonettes into the eyelets. nsert the tip of the hemostats or crochet hook into the eyelet, grasp the buttonette, and pull through. A stiletto could also be used to push the buttonette into the eyelet. ome of the three dimensional ornaments and designs may be easier to put together when they are slightly damp. They may be re-dampened at any time. f item becomes too limp to work with, dissolve scraps of Aqua esh in warm water and apply to the item. Construction Techniques: TO CREATE THE LACE CORNER (Designs #1, #2, or #3): Corners may be stitched on water-soluble stabilizer and then appliquéd onto project, or follow instructions below for stitching directly onto fabric. ake or purchase a napkin.
