11 EMBROIDERY STEP 1 Prep fabric by applying 2 sheets of StabilStick TearAway to the wrong side of the fabric. Note - this stabilizes your fabric so it isn t too limp and produces a nice, crisp project. STEP 2 Hoop two sheets of Aquamesh. Sew placement stitch. STEP 3 Place fabric over placement stitch and make sure to cover stitches completely. Stitch cut line and tackdown. Optional - use TearAway tape to hold items in place. 11

12 EMBROIDERY STEP 4 Remove tape, carefully. Remove hoop from machine, DO NOT unhoop fabric/stabilizer. Trim along cut line. Stitch lace and outer cover stitch. Repeat placement and cut line steps for the remaining appliques. STEP 5 Stitch inner design work. Stitch inner cover stitch. STEP 6 Remove from hoop, trim Aquamesh ¼ -½ away from fabric, be careful NOT to cut your eyelets or buttonettes! Wash away stabilizer and let dry. Note - for instructions and tips, see last page. 12

13 ASSEMBLY STEP 1 Attach each head section starting with the top 2 buttonettes (place buttonettes inward) working your way around and connecting the remaining buttonettes at the base of the head. Note - buttonettes are inward for a rounded head STEP 2 To start assembly of the body, align and attach slices as pictured for the front and back halves. STEP 3 Align and attach front half to back half using buttonettes and insert bow into center slice on back half as pictured. 13

14 ASSEMBLY STEP 4 WIth the front facing towards you, insert apron buttonettes into corresponding eyelets as shown. STEP 5 Attach arms by inserting the shoulder buttonette into its corresponding eyelet. Then insert the buttonette on the cuff into the front slice. STEP 6 Repeat in reverse on the other side. Cuff buttonette and then top shoulder buttonette. 14

15 ASSEMBLY STEP 7 To attach head to the body, face body and head forward, align tabs and slits. Pull tabs through slits by way of the open base. STEP 8 Wrap the collar around the neck, placing the buttonette and loop to the back and fasten. STEP 9 Attach foundation to body by pulling the foundation buttonettes through the remaining lower body eyelets. 15

16 INSTRUCTIONS General Freestanding Lace Guidelines Supplies: General Instructions Embroidery Thread: 1. Hoop two layers of OESD AquaMesh Stabilizer.
