3 Instructions This collection includes easy-to-make in the hoop door hangers for the tween. Does your tween need a biohazard warning outside their bedroom? Then hang the Biohazard door hanger on their door. There are a couple with pockets and one of them with chalk board fabric to write their own message. In the Hoop Tween Door Hangers #12581 are made just for them! Supplies OESD embroidery collection In the Hoop Tween Door Hangers #12581 Heavy weight wash away stabilizer OESD FiberForm Craft Interfacing Sheet Temporary spray adhesive Isacord embroidery threads Embroidery machine OESD Appliqué Fuse and Fix Fabrics for each door hanger: o Flower Pocket Appliqué - (2) 6" x 10" pieces cotton fabric (front & back) 4 ½" x 9 ½" piece flower fabric (pocket) NOTE: Wrong sides together, fold pocket in half and press to measure 4 ½" x 4 ¾". To create a more stable pocket, press a piece of OESD Fuse and Fix between the wrong sides, and then peel off the paper backing and stick together. o Blank Pocket Appliqué - (2) 5 ½" x 7 ½" piece chalk board fabric (pocket) NOTE: Fold down pocket 2 ½" to measure 5 ½" x 5". o Biohazard Appliqué - (2) 6" x 10" pieces cotton fabric (front & back) 4" square yellow fabric (appliqué) o Do Not Disturb Appliqué - (2) 6" x 10" pieces cotton fabric (front & back) assorted fabrics (appliqués) o No Boys Allowed - (2) 6" x 10" pieces cotton fabric (front & back) o No Parents Allowed - (2) 6" x 10" pieces cotton fabric (front & back) Cut NOTE: Print door hanger pattern for each door hanger. For each door hanger, cut FiberForm using door hanger pattern. Follow the Cut in Place Appliqué Instructions. Embroider NOTE: Design # Flower Pocket is used in the instructions. For the door hangers with appliqué, follow the appliqué instructions. Hoop 2 layers of heavy weight wash away stabilizer. Stitch first stitch of embroidery design which is the Hanger Placement Stitch. PHOTO 1 Using temporary spray adhesive, lightly spray the Placement Stitch. Center and place pre-cut FiberForm door hanger shape over the Placement Stitch. PHOTO 2 Photo 1 Photo 2

4 Instructions Lightly spray the shape. Center and Photo 3 Photo 4 Photo 5 place door hanger front fabric right side up over the shape. PHOTO 3 Stitch the second stitch of embroidery design called Cut Line and Tackdown. PHOTO 4 Take the hoop off the embroidery machine. Trim fabric along the outer and inner circle cut line. PHOTO 5 Put the hoop back on the embroidery machine. Stitch the next color for the design on the door hanger according to the thread chart. PHOTO 6 Stitch the next stitch called Flower Pot Placement Stitch. PHOTO 7 Place the folded piece of the pocket piece along the top of the Flower Pot Placement Stitch. PHOTO 8 Stitch the next stitch called Flower Pot Cut Line and Tackdown. PHOTO 9 Take the hoop off the embroidery machine. Trim fabric along the sides and bottom of the pocket. PHOTO 10 Stitch the next stitch called Flower Pot Cover Stitch. PHOTO 11 Take the hoop off the embroidery machine. Trim any jump threads. Lightly spray on the back of the hoop. Center and place door hanger back fabric right side out over the back of the hoop. PHOTO 12 NOTE: You may want to change the bobbin thread now to match the last color. Put the hoop back on the embroidery machine. Stitch the next color called Back Cut Line and Tackdown. Take the hoop off the embroidery machine. Trim fabric along the outer and inner circle cut line. PHOTO 13 The last color is the Cover Stitch. If you haven t already changed out your bobbin thread now is the time. 5 Cut in Place Appliqué Instructions In the Hoop Tween Door Hangers Appliqué Instructions 1. Hoop your fabric and backing. 2. Sew the pattern/placement. PHOTO 1 3. Place a piece of appliqué fabric over the pattern/placement so that it is completely covered. 4. Sew the trim stitch/tackdown. 5. Carefully cut away the excess appliqué fabric. PHOTO 2 6. Sew the remainder of the design and repeat for any remaining pieces. PHOTO

6 Instructions ATTENTION When printing this document, any page scaling or page fitting options in your print dialog box must be turned OFF or set to NONE so that your files will print out at their actual size. Images not printed at actual size will not function as intended. TO SAVE PAPER Only print the desired image by navigating to the image s page, go to File > Print and select Current page in the print dialog box. Repeat for each desired image.
