With all your support, how could I not get better. staff made it possible for me to recuperate and not think Baske about the business. My family worked hard to make my life easier, especially the first few weeks at home. I am happy to say I feel wonderful. Now, it is back to the business I love. Don t push the panic button yet, you have almost four months until Christmas. We have fabrics that are beautiful, like our Asian fabrics, different textures like our silk dupioni and linen or maybe you should check out our new denims and burlap for bags and garments. Not only do we carry a variety of fabrics but when you combine it with hand or machine embroidery, your project choices become endless. OESD Holiday Collections starts in September, so be sure to stop in, as there is a limited number of free CDs, with purchase available. OESD released a free standing Haunted House design which the Sewing Room just completed, WOW, you re going to want to make it. If you have not participated in the OESD Holiday Collections, call and we will explain how it works. We have two binding classes, each one covers a different area of binding. Take both classes and you will have all the information and techniques to finish your quilt. Sally will be teaching a Quilting Class for beginners or for someone who wants to review the basic skills on cutting, measuring and sewing. Mary and Carolyn will be teaching classes machine and software classes, so check the schedule. We will have events featuring our new machines, 880, 560 and the Chicago 7. Be sure to call the Sewing Room if you are interested in any of our machines. We will call when we schedule an event featuring your machine. Most of our events are handson, making a project with a light lunch to keep your tummy happy. Sandra Larson Swick is a certified BERNINA technician with extensive knowledge of sergers, embroidery software and design. Sandra has been selling, sewing and teaching on BERNINA machines professionally for more than 5 years. She is an award winning quilter, with the honor of making the first Quilt in Space. One of her prize quilts traveled to the International Space Station with Astronaut and Teacher in Space, Barbara Morgan. Monday, Oct 4, or Machine Quilting with Walking Foot Pam Varner Beginners Welcome Create interesting designs without free motion. Using only the walking foot, learn techniques for quilting that will make your projects look professional. Different threads, needles and marking tools will be explored. Discover the secrets to stitching in the ditch or add a simple decorative stitch. This class is filled with tips galore to help you design and quilt your own tops. Please bring instruction manual. Learn how to make stunning jewelry on your serger! A pendant necklace and beaded pin will be made in this class. Fun and easy!! Wednesday, Oct 30 Machine Appliqué Pam Varner Look of hand appliqué with the speed of your machine; learn how to make appliqué shapes and then sew them on with your machine. Pam will give your tips and tricks for easy turning and getting pieces to lay flat. Add dimension anywhere you want by stuffing your shapes. A little or a lot of appliqué can add new dimensions to any sewing project. Tuesday, November 5, PM Beautiful Bindings Helen Achieve smooth bindings with perfect corners and learn a great method for joining the ends. Practice sewing angled and scalloped edges and try new gourmet bindings, such as two-color and faux piping.
