1 The Northeast Region just completed a very successful conference in Ellsworth Maine. We now have 56 paid members, 33 members attended plus 3 non member day students. Barbara White had to cancel do to her husbands illness, Jean warren only attended one day do to her illness, and Donna Wolf was unable to attend because of her husbands illness! The conference was a success from every point of view: the From the keyboard of the President weather; the Acadia Birches staff and food; the activities and most of all the wonderful people that attended to complete the flavor of the whole! The teachers, without whom we could not have a conference, were fantastic! The volunteers, without whom I would be in deep do-do! I also want to extend a thank you to the supporting paint companies, our written thanks has probably been received by now, but I want to NEXT YEARS CONFERENCE THEME state publicity, they sure make our conference more affordable THANK YOU. 2 P AGE 2 NE TEAM NEWSLETTER Our 4th of July FIRECRACKERS at our regional meeting I asked for everyone to give me their ideas on who this person should be They came up with several LINDA COBURN: CHIEF FIRECRACKER BECAUSE SHE JUST KEEPS POPPING AND DOING, EVEN THOUGH HER STRENGHT AND FOR- TIDUE IS STRETCHED TO THE LIMITS WITH 16 WEEKS OF CHEMO! BEV AND ED BANKS: ROMAN CANDLES BECAUSE THEY JUST KEEP LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO DO SO THEY CAN GO BANG! AND GIT HER DONE! DOTTY WEAVER: A SPARKLER BECAUSE SHE IS AL- WAYS TRYING TO BRIGHTEN SOMEONE S DAY WITH HER SPECIAL TALENTS!!! DOTTY KAY STILLMAN: [ONE OF THOSE SPIRAL, TWISTY THINGS] because she was so good at -twisting- and she spiraled around taking 160 photos! Thank her for the ones in this newsletter! We had 50/50 drawings each day, the first day was won by Kathy McErlain, The second day Leslie Robbins won 40.00, and I am ashamed to say I do not have the other 2 days winners! Our money raising at the conference did very well. I will have an accounting in next newsletter. PEOPLE NEEDING OUR PRAYERS LINDA COBURN She is undergoing 16 weeks of Chemo after having 1/3 of her lung and 2 ribs removed, and if that were not bad enough, she is also facing an operation on her right shoulder, when all of this is over. Her right shoulder tendon is in shreds! BARBARA WHITE We are all wishing a speedy recovery for her husband, after a stroke. Brenda and Roger Harris Brenda was supposed to teach at our conference but I guess things seem to happen for a reason. Because of low sign ups for her classes we decided to cancel her commitment. Because of the cancellation she was home at the time of Roger s illness. His present condition is enough for Brenda to deal with right now. They are two of our dearest friends and all hearts and prayers go out to them. Painting tip using your own photo to paint from do a line drawing on the photo using clear plastic, then enlarge just the lines to the size you want. Saves printer ink!

Cheese Store left over cheese in aluminum foil. It will stay fresh longer and not mold. MEMORIES: Remember the cruise that Carole Weber went on well, David and I had to go one with them to see if we could have some of the same adventures! We were on the ship for 14 days, with Carole and Nick and I am afraid all I can report is a wonderful, relaxing time! I did hear from Cynthia Poole about her cruise from H---! They had a flood on their floor in the ship, broken pipe! And had a wet cabin for the entire trip! So sh-- does happen!
