3 WELCOME! I m sure you've already discovered that having a passion for success does not necessarily mean success will come. You have to go after it! Of course people laughed when Beachbody trainer, Chalene Johnson, was in her early 20s and said what she really loved to do was teach fitness classes and wanted to make her living by doing just that. Any instructor knows, then and now, you cannot make a living just teaching fitness classes... but she was determined, and more importantly, she had a plan of action. No, it wasn't going to be simple. Yes, it would take years. Yes, she would fail several times before her dream would come true. And no, she didn't give up when others made negative comments or when things weren't coming to fruition quickly enough. Every day of every week, of every month, of every year, she had lists of tasks that would take her closer to her goals. This business is no different in that sense... there is truly an unlimited potential for earnings with Beachbody. Fortunately for us, unlike many others who've become successful in other businesses, we have top-earning coaches who are making close to a million dollars, if not more, with this, so we already know it can be done. We just have to duplicate their passion, duplicate their steps... and why not try to set a new standard? Who says any of these top-earning coaches are any better than any of YOU?!? The problem is that some people do not want to tackle the tasks that require them to go even slightly out of their comfort zone. It's easier to just say, "I don't have time, "I tried, but it didn't work for me, I'm not cut out for that, "I'm not smart enough, "I m not fit enough" blah blah blah! GET OVER YOUR EXCUSES! If you want to be leaner/wealthier/happier than you've ever been, you have to take some steps you've never taken. You have to stop believing that your situation is somehow more difficult than someone else s. Yes, we all go through busy times, tragic times, and some really unfortunate circumstances, but your thoughts, decisions, and actions will dictate whether you re knocked down permanently or you rise up as a result of learning from your experiences/weaknesses. One of the most impactful tips you can implement is to generate enough leads to present the business to 3 solid prospects per week. That doesn't mean signing 3 people per week. It just means presenting the coaching opportunity to them. Realistically, anything short of that is likely to produce slow growth, if any. Some coaches are actually presenting the opportunity to 8-15/week. This isn t a get-rich-quick type of scheme, which is a good thing, because that means it s legit and something that is going to last. If you commit to following the 3 Vital Behaviors daily, having the right mindset, and being consistent with this business, in about 3-4 months, you should expect (on average, but you could definitely do more) $ weekly. I have seen coaches outdo this, but this is an average for someone working part-time. At around months, you could be earning around $ weekly. This isn t a guarantee. You can earn more or less than this, but it s all about YOU and up to YOU. I am here to answer your questions and support you and know for a fact that you can achieve whatever you set your mind to achieve as long as it s followed with action. 4 WHAT IS AN ACTIVE COACH VS AN INACTIVE COACH? All new coaches start out their first week as inactive. The Beachbody system checks every Wednesday night at 12pm, EST to see if each coach has bought or sold at least 50 PV (point volume) in the last 35 days. See your price list in your Coach Online Office for PV amounts, or log into TeamBeachbody.com and click SHOP to go to an item in your store to see PV amounts). If you have 50 PV, it posts your new "active" status, or higher status, the next day Thursday afternoon. The various Coach ranks are Coach Inactive, Coach Active, Emerald, Ruby, Diamond, One-Star Diamond, Two-Star Diamond, and so on. So even if you bought or sold 50 PV worth of goods today, it would stay inactive until Thursday afternoon. PV is about equivalent to what YOU pay, dollar for dollar, for products as a Coach. For example, Turbo Jam Max Results is around $45 for you as a Coach and 45 PV. If someone buys it from your webpage, they pay around $60, and you still get your 45 PV and your commission check. It's the same PV points whether you buy it for yourself or someone buys from your website. You can even buy it from your own online office for someone else and then collect a check from them made payable directly to you for retail price. If you ever see anything in your Coach Online Office that seems incorrect, you can always call coach relations at or coachrelations@teambeachbody.com. What does being "Inactive" really mean? Again, your status only changes on Thursday morning of each week, and that status stays with you all week until the next Thursday, regardless of what you buy or sell. As "Inactive, you are still a Coach. You still have your webpages, but inactive status is a pretty good indicator that you're not really actively buying or selling and, therefore, not getting much out of the coaching experience. If you re not using product, you re not likely to be talking about it, and REALLY not likely to be able to genuinely convince others to try products. Live the Beachbody coaching lifestyle, and the sales will come naturally. If you have bought or sold at least 50 PV of products in the last 35 days, you'd be listed as Active. Again, the system looks at your activity every Wednesday night, at 12pm EST, to see if you've bought or sold 50 PV in the last 35 days. Why would it be important to be Active? The first level of higher earnings is to become an Emerald Coach. You are eligible for Team Bonus and the Customer Lead Program where Beachbody assigns you customers. To become Emerald, you are active, and you have at least 2 coaches under you who are active: one active coach on each side, right and left. So, you could be Emerald for a few weeks, but you may have a coach who hasn't bought in 35 days, and you would fall out of Emerald status...not a show-stopper, but you DO lose your carryover volume (the unused volume that accumulates from week to week on your legs) when you drop to Coach status. Plus, the more coaches you have, the easier it is to maintain your Rank and go higher. If you're using products yourself each month, and/or have a regular customer or two, your status remains active easily. Achieving Emerald can actually happen pretty quickly even as a BRAND NEW COACH. As a new coach, you should IMMEDIATELY make a list of everyone you know with whom you could potentially share Beachbody, then scale that list based on who you think are leaders and go-getters. Start connecting with those people! Let them know you ve started this new business that has a huge Super Stars Coaching Manual ~ 4

5 opportunity for residual income within a couple of years of building it, and you want to see if they are interested in pursuing it, as well. Look for like-minded people. Super Stars Coaching Manual ~ 5

6 New Coach Checklist 1. COMMIT. Mindset in this business is huge, so right off the bat, commit to this, and plug into your upline and star diamond upline coaches. This is absolutely doable for you, but it starts with YOU believing that! 2. Get active on Shakeology Home Direct. It s not required - just highly recommended. Shakeology can be the biggest asset to your business. Ordering it on home direct will save you shipping and handling expenses every month. You can always cancel/pause your order for up to three months and still retain the Super Saver Shipping. I recommend single serve packets your first month (24 servings), and then you can switch to the bag. Packets are great so you can share Shakeology with a potential prospect. 3. Be a product of the product. Drink Shakeology, and workout daily. 4. Create your Team Beachbody Coach Profile for your retail webpage (see next section). 5. Go to login, go to Coach>Coach Online Office>My Business>My EFT Management. To avoid a per commission check service charge of $2.50, enter your bank deposit and routing numbers. 6. Know your retail site to send to customers (see first page of manual). 7. Print out the 7-Day Quick Start from your welcome or from the resources section in your Coach Online Office (COO). 8. Order Business cards through Vistaprint. Use the login: mdb.stephanier@gmail.com. The password is Stephanie. You can often find some great discount codes for Vistaprint at 9. Schedule a meeting with your upline coach if you haven t already. Keep a running journal of questions and thoughts you have to bring to the call. 10. Start checking your Coach Online Office under Breaking News and Alerts 11. Commit to the National Coach Call on Mondays at 11 am, EST and the Legacy Training Call on Monday nights at 8:30 pm, CST. It s very important to learn from the top coaches on our team and other teams. 12. Have FUN! Work with the willing, meet people and look to HELP, not sell! Realize that this business takes time to build. DON T TRY TO SELL. Make recommendations, connect and help one person at a time (via private messages) even if sometimes your advice has NOTHING to do with recommending a Beachbody product. It may take 6 months of building a relationship before you ever even mention Beachbody. We re about helping people first and foremost. Be authentic. That approach is more rewarding, will get you MUCH FURTHER, and it will get people coming back to you. Developing trust and credibility with one person at a time is key! If you want people to get interested in you and what you re doing, be interested in THEM and their lives first! This business is a business of duplication, so feel free to copy everything and anything the leaders in the business do. For example, use this manual to pass on to your own coaches. 7 SETTING UP YOUR PROFILE AND WEBSITES PART ONE: YOUR PROFILE Completing your profile as fully as possible will help you get the most out of your Team Beachbody and Supergym experience. 1. Add Basic Information Choose a screen name for yourself (it'll need to be one that isn't already in use and easy for customers to remember). Enter your birthdate, your gender, your home time zone, and a brief biography that lets others know a little bit about your life, your goals, and what you'd like to get from your fitness program. If you intend to make your biography public, don't include personally identifying information such as your home address, phone number, or place of business. When you get to "Privacy Settings," you can decide whether to keep these details private or let your Workout Buddies or all your fellow members see it. 2. Add progress and goals Select your main goal, add the date of your first SuperGym workout, your transformation story (which you can add to as you progress), and whether you'll be measuring yourself in customary or metric units. Note: The next time you visit this page, it will show your current Overall Goal and Fitness Story selections. To change or add to them, click "edit." Now, fill in as many of your current physical statistics as you can. This is very important because keeping track of your improvement from week to week is a major factor in staying motivated to succeed! Next, add your projected goals for each category. You can always change these later as you become more fit. You may realize you have more potential for improvement than you thought! Once you've filled in some categories, you'll see spaces in the chart to add your new statistics on a regular basis. Every two weeks or so (or less often for slow-changing figures such as cholesterol), you can measure, weigh, or test yourself again and add the new numbers. Choose one measurement, such as "Weight," as the default graph view. This will become the Progress Tracker displayed on your dashboard at the top of the site. 3. Add your meal plan This will display the meal plan you've selected. If you haven't chosen one yet, go to "Create your personalized meal plan" under "Eat Right and Lose Weight" below. 4. Add your workout program In the Programs Library, check off the Team Beachbody DVD fitness programs you own. Choose one as your primary program. If you own two or more, it'll be the program you intend to use most. 5. Choose your activities Use this to add other physical activities you participate in, such as biking, weightlifting, or yoga, to your SuperGym workout choices. If you'd like, you can also designate one of these activities as your primary program. Super Stars Coaching Manual ~ 7

8 6. Select your gear and supplements Add any Team Beachbody workout equipment you own. Add any Team Beachbody nutritional supplements or workout recovery formulas you use. 7. Upload your photos First, add a basic photo which will appear in your profile and in the SuperGym when you're working out. This can be a head shot or a full-body shot. Next, upload a "before" progress photo, preferably a fullbody photo that shows your physical condition at the start of the program. Later, you'll want to add a new "current" progress photo every 30 days or so. This will give you a visual impression of how well you're progressing over time. You can now add up to 20 photos to your gallery to show off your new and improved body. Click on any photo to edit the title or to delete. Click on "browse" to locate a photo on your computer, and upload it to the site. Photos must be in JPEG format and no larger than 750k in size in order to upload correctly. Body-revealing clothes are allowed, but nudity is not; any photos considered inappropriate may be subject to removal. (For information on photo rights, read the Terms of Use on that page). 9 PART TWO: STEPS TO BUYING YOUR OWN WEB ADDRESS This part is optional. It s useful because your website with Team Beachbody is often long and hard to remember. Domains can be purchased easily and affordably through GoDaddy.com. 1. Go to 2. Click on create new account in text near the top of the homepage. 3. Enter all of the required fields. 4. Write down your login and password so you can manage this account in the future if need be. 5. Once completed, it will take you back to the homepage, and you are now logged in. 6. Type in the search bar (towards the top) the desired URL name you want. Ex: CoachStephanie.com, YourName.com, GetFit.com 7. Keep trying until it says you have found one that s available. You DON T want one that s a premium. 8. Once you ve decided on one, click the.com box. 9. Ignore additional promotions at the bottom of the page, and click proceed to check out. 10. There may be additional offerings. Ignore them, and choose no thanks, proceed, and continue. 11. Click on the boxes to agree to the terms. 12. Continue to click to your payment and method. Pay. 13. Once the URL has been purchased, it will take you back to the homepage. 14. Click on domains and then my domains. 15. Click on folder, saved searches, and then unfiled. 16. To the right, your new URL should show. 17. Click in the check box directly to the left of your new URL to enable the icons at the top. 18. Click the GREEN ARROW for forward domain. 19. Type your team Beachbody address ( NOTE: you MUST use or it will not work 20. Click the permanently forward box Within 24 hours or less, you ll be able to go online and test it to make sure it works. 10 COACHING FAQ AND IMPORTANT TERMINOLOGY What is the Coach Business Opportunity? It s a breakthrough income opportunity that lets you turn weight loss into profit. In order to make money, you let people know about getting fit and losing weight with Beachbody s best-selling line of products. You succeed by helping others succeed! You get paid weekly commissions when people buy Beachbody products and Team Beachbody Club Memberships through your personal website. You can also earn cash bonuses based on your team s sales. What does it cost to begin? It only costs $39.99 to start a Beachbody business. That includes your first month s Business Services Fees and your Coach Business Kit, which comes with everything you need to begin earning income. Or, you can purchase a new challenge pack, and your coach sign-up fee of $39.99 is waived. The fee is also waived for active military personnel/spouses. Do I need to be a fitness expert? No, you don t need to be a fitness or weight-loss expert to become a Beachbody Coach. You just need to be ready to commit to changing your life. Do I need to be a salesperson? Not at all the fact is, just about everybody already wants to get fit or lose weight. Our products can get them there we have thousands of real-life success stories to prove it! To make money as a Beachbody Coach, all you have to do is let people know that they can finally achieve the health, fitness, and weight- loss goals of which they ve dreamed. What kinds of help and support will I receive? Once you become a Beachbody Coach, you ll be part of a whole network of successful coaches who are there for you from whom you ll learn and with whom you ll share. You ll also get full access to your online office, which has everything you need to market and manage your business with ease including your own sales website and account, a full set of sales and marketing tools, and extensive training guides and videos. In addition, our Coach Relations team is available to answer your questions via or over the phone. And you ll have a Coach of your own for extra motivation and guidance. Will I have to purchase products for resale? Unlike marketing programs that require you to buy a lot of products in order to participate, the Coach Opportunity has no inventory requirements. 11 Will I have to handle product inventory, billing, shipping or customer service? No when customers purchase products through your website, Beachbody takes care of the rest. Is it easy to set up my website? Setting up and customizing your Beachbody Coach Website is lowtech and simple! Beachbody provides you with an easy-to-use system that allows you to add text and photos (or you can just use ours), and you can choose from a number of Beachbody marketing banners to help make sure your site is viewed. How does Beachbody promote its products? Beachbody spends millions of dollars every week advertising these home fitness programs on the major TV stations and cable networks. (You ve probably seen the famous infomercials for programs such as P90X, Insanity, Ten-Minute Trainer, etc., as well as the magazine and Internet ads.) Millions of people already know about Beachbody, and every time they run an infomercial, they get thousands of new customers. Beachbody wants those customers to shop through your store, so you get the commission on those sales! How much of a discount will I get on my own Beachbody products? As Beachbody Coach, you receive a 25% discount on all Beachbody products available in the Team Beachbody store. Super Stars Coaching Manual ~ 11

12 SPEAKING THE BEACHBODY LANGUAGE Emerald Coach You become emerald once you have two personally sponsored (PS) active coaches (50PV in the last 35 days). Personally sponsored coaches are different than the coaches your upline coach adds under you. After achieving emerald, you are eligible for the customer lead program (if you are also a Club Member, which came with your Challenge Pack when you started), and can earn team cycle bonuses ($14). Ruby Coach You become ruby once you have 2 personally sponsored active coaches on each side/leg, including one emerald on each side/leg. In addition to a bigger cycle bonus ($16) and more frequent cycles, you can earn 5% of the weekly team cycle bonus check amounts earned by your personally sponsored active coaches. Diamond Coach You become diamond when you have four personally sponsored active coaches on each side/leg, including one emerald on each side/leg. Diamond coaches earn $18 for every team cycle bonus. Max is $2000/week. As a diamond coach you also earn a 10% matching check bonus. Diamond coaches range from one-star, two-star all the way up to 15-star. Super Stars Coaching Manual ~ 12

13 2-Star Diamond Coach A two-star diamond coach must have two personally sponsored coaches reach diamond status (one in each leg) and are eligible to participate in the ½% quarterly diamond bonus pool. 5-Star Diamond Coach A five-star diamond coach must have five personally sponsored coaches reach diamond status (3 on one leg; 2 on the other leg). An additional ½% is added to your quarterly diamond bonus pool. 10-Star Diamond Coach A ten-star diamond coach must have ten personally sponsored coaches reach diamond status (5 on each leg). An additional ½% is added to your quarterly diamond bonus pool. Superstar Diamond Coach To become a fifteen-star diamond coach (aka Superstar Diamond), you must have fifteen personally sponsored coaches reach diamond status. An additional ½% is added to your quarterly diamond bonus pool. Super Stars Coaching Manual ~ 13

14 Personal Volume (PV) The amount of personal volume points you have bought for yourself from your own online shop with the coach discount price and/or points you have SOLD. Total Volume (TV) Total volume consists of Right Team Volume (RTV) and your Left Team Volume (LTV). This is important once you ve reached emerald rank because it determines how many times, if any, you will cycle for a team bonus. Preferred Placement Refers to the right or left leg of your organization. The level of placement is irrelevant. The side, right or left, helps determine if, and how many times, you will cycle in a week. Coach Online Office (COO or backoffice ) This is where you ll go to run your business and track your business-building activities. Super Stars Coaching Manual ~ 14

15 SETTING INITIAL GOALS First Goal: Become an Emerald Coach. Your first goal should be to get yourself to EMERALD COACH as soon as possible. If you are serious about this business (and you should be), you should be able to do this in a week or less. Why do you want to be an Emerald Coach? Because when you become a qualified Emerald Coach, you are eligible to start receiving paying customers from the Team Beachbody Customer Lead program. You just need to complete the following simple tasks: 1. Be an Active Coach by having a minimum 50 point volume (PV) order placed within the preceding 5 weeks. An easy way to accomplish this is by having your Shakeology HD order placed. If you have a surplus of Shakeology bags, switch to packets, so you can sell them as samples to future customers. 2. Personally sponsor two Active Coaches who have also purchased at least 50 PV worth of products - and ideally, they are on Shakeology Home Direct. You will need to sponsor one Coach in your left leg and one Coach in your right leg. 3. You must have posted a completed profile page (it must say that your profile is at least 95% complete) with at least a bio and a before photo. Super Stars Coaching Manual ~ 15

16 Free Customer Lead Program New customers who order from Beachbody are assigned a coach who is Emerald or above. Yes, you heard that right Beachbody gives you FREE customers. Other companies don t do that! Take care of them! Make sure these things are in place in order to receive your leads: 1. Be a club member. This is the fully customizable meal planner portion of the Team Beachbody website. The fee to be a club member is $38/quarter. 2. Upload a before and after picture into your profile. 3. Complete your profile information. 4. Make your profile public. Team Cycle Bonuses As an Emerald Coach, when you accumulate 100 team volume points (TV) in one leg and 200TV in the other leg, you will cycle. Each time you cycle, you make $14. Unused points carry over as long as you stay Emerald. If you drop from Emerald for just one week, you will lose the points you are carrying over. Example: Coach Sally in your left leg sold 220 PV, and Coach Bob in your right leg sold 100 PV. You will now cycle and earn $14. The remaining 20 PV in your left leg carry over until you add up enough points to cycle again. Team cycle bonus is really where you see money start to accumulate! Importance of Preferred Placement If you always have PV in one side and not in the other, then set your preferred placement to the weak side so the next coach joining you is placed there. You can maximize your team cycle bonuses if you are somewhat balanced on both sides in terms of how PV calculated (the number of coaches is irrelevant since some neither buy nor sell). DO NOT LET THE SYSTEM SET YOUR PLACEMENT. In your Coach Online Office, go to My Business, My Preferred Placement, and set your placement to one leg or the other, never first available. You will want to build your business to look like an upside down V. Coaches on your left will go on your far left and coaches on your right will go on your far right. You have 72 hours to change a coach placement if they have been placed incorrectly. To make a change, coachrelations@teambeachbody.com. Request that your coach be switched to whichever side they need to be placed, and don t forget to include their coach ID number in the . Viewing Your Downline To see where your personally sponsored coaches are placed, go to your Coach Online Office, click My Business, My Downline, Graphical Genealogy. Your personally sponsored coaches will show in blue and have a PS under the name. You can also go to My Business, My Downline, Sponsorship Drilldown to see who is projected to be active for Wednesday night to start the week off on Thursday as active. The Sponsorship Drilldown should be your #1 report to run every Wednesday (end of pay period) to see the status of your team and, therefore, your rank. Super Stars Coaching Manual ~ 16

17 Is It Beneficial To Sign My Spouse Up? Yes. In fact, one of the first things that you need to do is sign up your spouse, even if they aren t active, so that they solidify that spot in your organization. By doing so, he/she will earn volume points from all of the coaches that are placed underneath him/her. There are many financial benefits because the money comes to the same place. For example, when your spouse sells a product, he/she will earn a commission for the sale, but you will also earn volume points. Thus, it makes sense to send retail through your spouse s business. Once your spouse hits emerald, you will start earning matching bonuses from his/her cycles. What Next? The next rank advancements are ruby and then diamond. As an emerald coach, you need to help your coaches grow their teams as well as continue to grow your own and also help your customers with their fitness goals. Continue to work on the plan you and your sponsor coach have set, and you will be on your way to reaching your goals! Super Stars Coaching Manual ~ 17

18 Second Goal: Earn Success Club Success Club is a point-earning system that rewards you for consistently participating in activities designed to help you grow your business. Since we launched the program in January 2010, monthly participation has grown steadily from dozens to hundreds to thousands. Not only that, but over the past two years, coaches who qualified for Success Club every month watched their paychecks increase by an average of 68%. As a Success Club member, you'll have the following opportunities: Get exclusive leads and commissions from Shakeology, Ultimate Reset, and Challenge Pack customers. These leads are in addition to the Free Customer Leads that you receive for being a qualified emerald. Participate in monthly coach incentive programs and promotions. Earn once-in-a-lifetime travel opportunities to exotic destinations all over the world. Be mentored by some of the industry's most influential experts and recognized on stage at big Team Beachbody events. But, most importantly, every month you're in Success Club, your business grows, you make more money, and you're on the fast track to greatness. Success Club qualification periods begin on the first day of the calendar month, at 12:00 AM ET, and end on the last day of that calendar month, at 11:59 PM ET. How to Qualify Have at least 90 PV Home Direct and/or auto ship order(s) produced by you. Again, enroll yourself on Shakeology HD, and drink it daily! 23 PRESENTING THE BEACHBODY COACHING OPPORTUNITY TO OTHERS Like any business, to be successful, there s a learning curve. The biggest mistake you can make is to try to explain ALL that coaching entails when presenting this opportunity. In fact, your best and most effective presentation of the opportunity should be a brief but appealing one. Sharing the opportunity should actually take you a few messages back and forth. After you ve started the conversation, do NOT just follow up with asking whether they re going to join you or not. That is undermining the value of your relationship, the value of this very important business decision and the commitment that needs to follow it. Of course, you will sometimes have people wanting to join JUST for the discounts GREAT! Do not turn those folks down! Many of those people end up selling without even trying anyway! Prospecting Conversation Tips 1. If they are not from your challenge group, use a simple step 1 to initiate the conversation. Have you ever considered becoming a Beachbody Coach? You would be great at it because. 2. Once you ve briefly explained the opportunity, don t try to convince. Follow up a couple of days later and ask if they are still interested. Continue to connect on other topics in that same message. Do NOT be single-mindedly reaching out to recruit a coach. People don t want to feel SOLD on an idea. They want to feel that you know their situation and that you re going to help them find a solution. If 1 out of 10 invited join, you re doing great! Don t be disappointed with the no. 26 CREATING AND GROWING YOUR LISTS Your LISTS are your method of organization for your contacts, prospects, and customers. They are ALWAYS written down. Instead of leaving your business to chance, be intentional about how you spend time building your business. Systems aren t meant to micro-manage, they are meant to provide you with the freedom to spend your time building your business instead of guessing what to do. YOUR MACDADDY LIST This list is your main contact list. It s your general list, and you re expanding it daily! If you re constantly adding new people to your list of contacts, you ll never run out of people with whom to share. When you completed the 7 Day Quickstart, you came up with 20 names. That was the beginning of your MacDaddy list! I encourage you to brainstorm well beyond 20 - shoot for as many as you can. Use the Memory Jogger from your Coach Online Office to get you started. These names can be written down in a spiral notebook, a calendar, a Smartphone or an Excel spreadsheet. Regardless, you need to find a way to make sure that you are writing them down in the same place and staying organized. YOUR HOTLIST The Hotlist is a smaller list of names taken from your MacDaddy list. These are the people that you intend on inviting to your challenge group or talking to about the coach opportunity throughout the week. I create a new Hotlist at the beginning of every week. It s a good idea to set a goal for the number of invites you will have each week. Your goal should reflect your pace. If you are just getting your feet wet, start with 10 invites in the first week. Or set a goal for 2 per day. If you re ready to sprint out of the gate, bump it to 20! As the week progresses, I place a tally mark beside my hotlist names as I send out Step 1 invites. I also make notes that help me remember our conversations. When I move on to Steps 2-5, I designate those with tally marks as well. 27 USING YOUR LISTS: INVITING WITH THE 5-STEP PROCESS INVITE, INVITE, INVITE is the 1st vital behavior of this business! Your Coach Online Office is FULL of resources that show you how to invite and why it s so important to a successful business. The Beachbody 5-Step Process is an excellent example script to help you gain confidence in talking to others about joining you. Remember, this business is about RELATIONSHIPS. Slow down and approach people individually. Group blasts or general posts on your Facebook page generally do not work. Beachbody Challenge Group 5-Step Invite Process Beachbody Challenge Group Training Part 1: Part 2: Part 3: This is close to what I send out to my prospective challengers. It s what I ve found works for me. I use it flexibly and tailor each response to the person to whom I m communicating. This does not mean that you should abandon the original 5-Step Process sent out by Beachbody. It is EFFECTIVE. It has taken me a long time to fine tune how I respond to people, and it is ALWAYS a work in progress. My purpose in showing you this is so that you can see how I ve tweaked things a bit, but I m still doing the 5 steps. So use both formats however you see fit, and work on finding your own voice as you invite more people! Step One: (Invite - Keep it Short.) Hey! How are you? <Make a personal comment> You were on my mind because I thought this might be something that was up your alley. I have a new challenge/accountability group starting up on, and there are a couple of spots left. We focus on fitness, exercise and support! I wanted to invite you before it fills up. Can I send you some more information? You don't have to live close! Hope you're great! Step Two: (Explain and ask for Their WHY) Sounds great, I think this is a process that you will love! It s really helped me. The short and sweet of the challenge group is this: 1. You do all of your workouts from home, on your own time and schedule. 2. 28 3. We replace a meal a day with Shakeology to make sure that you are eating cleanly and taking care of the nutrition side of things. Clean eating is a big focus in our group. 30 OBJECTION HANDLING Expectations When putting together a challenge group or presenting the coach opportunity, you may have 1 in 10 people decide to join you. That s considered a great ratio! It s an awesome opportunity, but some people will not see it, or it s bad timing for them. Or they just aren t go-getters! There will always be objections. Choose to look at objections as opportunities to dig deeper and understand that person s perspective. Be genuine. Plant seeds and build relationships. The rest will follow! STAYING FOCUSED It s easy to get distracted in this business. Take Facebook, for example. It s great to build your business on social media, but if you re constantly getting sucked into the black hole of the newsfeed while you ve set aside time to work, you re not really working. Growing your list, inviting new challengers via private messages to your group and following up with them are the key components to getting your business up and running. Although blogs, fitness pages and flyers are fun, and sometimes even effective when done correctly, they are usually not the first things you should be considering as you start. There is a big difference between business-building activities and business-related activities. Always place priority on business building before you venture out! 31 SOCIAL MEDIA 101: ATTRACTION MARKETING The various forms of social media are HUGE in building this business if you make a point to reach out to new people EVERY day and learn about them. That s the fastest way to get people interested in YOU and what YOU do. Get yourself on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Plus. I recommend one at a time, though. Master one form of social media before you move on to the next. Each platform has a field for you to input your website. Make sure you mention your business website in these areas. FACEBOOK GET YOUR CONTACTS TO CONNECT WITH YOU ON FACEBOOK: When you are out talking and meet new people, say Hey, are you on Facebook? I d love to connect there and continue our conversation. Look them up right then and there, and send them a friend request (via your phone). This helps you continue to build relationships, and they also see your posts. Once you ve built a relationship by FORMing them, you can use step 1 of the 5-Step Challenge script. They might also ask you more about what you do you as a coach or about your Challenge. Add an signature with a small note asking people to join you on Facebook. Say, something fun, for example: Are you on Facebook? I d love it if you joined me there so we can connect further or so we can share healthy tips, motivate each other to reach our dreams, etc. Find something that works for you and your niche (to be discussed below). Then put a link to your FB page. When someone accepts your friend request, or you accept their request, go to their wall and say hi, thanks for the new connection. Share how you are excited to get to know them more! Build a relationship. Daily, say happy birthday to everyone who has a birthday that day. Many times that will spark them to come check out your page. Remember, people are always watching. Start building relationships this way. When posting about Challenges or Shakeology/fitness program, tell people to LIKE your status if they d like more information. This works better, as many people are reading this from their cell phone and hitting the LIKE button is easier than messaging you. It is NOT recommended that you make it obvious in your profile that you re an Independent Beachbody Coach. There are 100,000+ coaches out there and that can turn people off from friend-ing you or following you on Twitter as they may suspect you ll try to PUSH products on them. 32 TIPS FOR FINDING CONTACTS: Focus on a niche for your brand. What do you love to do? What are you passionate about in life? Family, kids, dogs, reading, knitting, running, sailing, did you just get married? WHAT MAKES YOU SPECIAL? Make that your niche. It doesn t have to be health/fitness. It s something you love and love talking about! Then build on this niche using these tips: Find groups on Facebook that are in your niche - whatever it is you re interested in (mommy groups, groups for brides, running groups, etc.). JOIN them, and interact on the pages! Interact with people individually, and make connections with them. Become a friend. Share your knowledge and comment on what they are sharing. ENGAGE! Then, as you build a relationship with a person, private message (PM) them saying, hi. we are both members of. and I think we have a ton in common. I would love if we could be friends here and really (share more on this topic together). I sent you a friend request. I hope you will accept it. As you start building a niche, share a tip or post something on your personal page relating to it. This way, all those people who you are inviting to LIKE your page or to accept your friend request will see that you have things in common. If it s about your favorite tv show, then post a comment about the show. If it s a run, share a tip or how your run for the day went. Give them something with which to engage even more. Why should they like you? Because you have stuff in common! WHAT TO POST ABOUT and WHEN: Have a personality. What does this mean? Well, how would your friends describe you? Are you funny? Serious? An extrovert? A stick in the mud? Your posts should reflect who you are as well as what you strive to be. A lot of coaches just post inspiring pictures and quotes, which is definitely a good thing, but this alone will not give people a sense of who YOU are as an INDIVIDUAL. Ask yourself: What kinds of things could I share that would allow people to see who I truly am and what I m about? Share things about your day, examples of status updates: WOOT! I just had made the best oatmeal pancakes! I just had a great call with my coaches. I m so proud of my challenger (name)! She s lost 15 lbs in her first 60 days! Ugh. I didn t get much done today. Did you? I m thinking about reading. Has anyone read it? What do you think? Super Stars Coaching Manual ~ 32

33 Let your followers be the experts, and learn from them. So ask questions pertaining to skills such as cooking tips or how to do something or the best place/ day to find sales on clothes. Be funny/nice/vulnerable. Whatever your personality is, be a real person. Ask questions relating to your life circumstances. Posting PICTURES gets more attention than no picture. To get people to engage and watch you more, post a picture. And remember to accompany your photo with a comment or question that will ENGAGE your audience. Don t just state what you are doing. i.e. If you are going to Starbucks for a cup of coffee, you could post something such as, I m headed to Starbucks to get my plain old cup of joe! How do you order your coffee at Starbucks? You could post a picture of a cup of coffee with this to keep it fun. FREQUENCY & QUALITY: HOW MUCH OF WHAT AND WHEN One time a day, post something about health/fitness. A tip, a motivational photo, a recipe. Try to provide value for others. One time a day, share about Shakeology/your workout/something Beachbody. Keep it fun. Don t post links. Share your shake recipe, how your pants are falling off, how you are sore, whatever applies TO YOU. The more you talk about what you re doing, feeling, seeing, the more people will relate to you. Then they will start asking more about what you are doing, drinking, and how you are getting results. The rest of the day, keep personal. For example, share what you re doing with your family or friends, what you re up to this weekend, how you feel about Wednesdays, in general. Let people get to know you! Recap: 80% of your daily activity is personal, 20% Beachbody. If you find yourself short on time, use a program like Hootesuite.com to schedule 1-2 posts a day to keep your page interesting. Ask questions so people engage with you! Remember, keep it focused. Share a tip to help people in your niche. Best times are 6a, 9a, 12p, 3p, 6p, 9p. All Eastern time zone. POSTING DON Ts Spamming: Don t post your website/blog/information links all over the place, especially not on BB product FB Pages. Don t add every person you come across before building a relationship. Don t be rude or negative. Don t air your personal laundry. It s okay to share that someone at the grocery was rude to you, for example, but your fights with your significant other really should remain personal. Remember that you are a business owner. A good rule of thumb is that if it is considered gossip, it should be cut out. Go to a close friend, pastor, mentor for advice instead of spreading it on Facebook. Super Stars Coaching Manual ~ 33

34 Don t post inappropriate photos, racist remarks, or pictures that show you or others in an unfavorable light. Don t add more than two to three people per day to avoid being thrown in Facebook jail (your Facebook privileges can be revoked) Do not engage in an argument through comments. POSTING DOS Do message people before sending links out. Only send links AFTER the relationship is being built. Do reply to comments on your page, especially if they are questions. Remember, you are trying to build relationships and create a dialogue. Make sure your profile picture is YOU! Not your dog, husband, P90X logo, etc. People want to get to know YOU! Again, be real! Do create photo albums. If you head to a Beachbody event, add it to an album that is titled appropriately. Or if you have a success story transformation, have an album that shows your journey. Have favorite recipes you make, and add an album for photos of the meals with the recipes. INSTAGRAM: Ask your Instagram followers to friend request you on Facebook When people make comments, make sure to reply at least with a. Don t post too many Beachbody product-related photos Like other people s photos. You can create new contacts that way. Use hashtags to search like-minded people. TWITTER Connect with your Twitter followers, post often (i.e. share your Supergym workouts on Twitter everyday, and you ll get new followers regularly) Make sure to use # if you want to get new followers (i.e. #health, #fitness, #beachbody #fuelband, depends on what you are tweeting). Post as if you were talking solely to your specific niche! #4 - SHARE, DON T SELL! What does that mean? It means don t be an icky sticky pushy sales person!!! Focus on sharing emotionally driven success stories. SHARE your story... and be REAL and vulnerable! People don t relate to links on a page... or posts promoting that you are now a coach... which basically says, WHO WANTS TO BUY SOMETHING FROM ME? - - YUCK! Think of it from an outsiders point of view... If your friend just started in another business... let s say skin care products... and they were raving on how they were a rep now and you just HAD to try it and become a rep yourself... Would you JUMP IN not knowing if #1 - The product ACTUALLY worked #2 - If your friend was even going to stick with it. #3 - If it was one of those Pyramid Schemes ---- Probably NOT. Through your consistency, results and then THEIR research (with or without your being involved in the process) you will start to see more people show interest. SHARE your journey, but don t shove it down people s throats... Don t make it the ONLY thing you ever post about. Be relatable in multiple areas of your life... and stop trying to force the solution down their throats! LOL. #5 - IT S SO NOT ABOUT YOU! It is SO tempting to keep the focus on what YOU want for your business... I WANT to be a diamond... I WANT to find a rockstar coach... I WANT to make $500 a week... I WANT, I WANT, I WANT... and sure, we ALL want success, but in THIS business, YOUR success is determined by the number of people YOU HELP to succeed in reaching THEIR GOALS, not YOURS. Listen to their story, learn about what is important to THEM, what their strengths and weaknesses are, help them to see the bigger vision for their lives and how BEACHBODY can help them to get there! Be sure to share these 5 concepts with them and explain how to use their lives to inspire others! it doesn t happen over night... but with consistency you WILL achieve results! Understand you can t make them do anything they do not see value in.. So show them the value according to their goals and dreams! Coach DAILY Checklist As a new Coach, you may feel a little overwhelmed and don't know what to do each day. If you focus on the 3 Vital Behaviors, then you are on your way to a thriving business. But, the "3 Vital Behaviors" is vague so I decided to break it down for you. Here are some tips & a guide on what to do each day: 1. DRINK YOUR SHAKEOLOGY. :) 2. WORKOUT. 3. FIND 2-5 NEW PEOPLE (via facebook, out and about, etc.) and add to your contact list. Start building that friendship with these people. (WRITE down their names to have a running list.) 4. SHARE WITH 2-5 NEW PEOPLE about the Business, Shakeology, or to join your Challenge Group. (WRITE down their names to have a running list and make notes about what you talked about.) 5. FOLLOW UP with people you have been talking to. (The FORTUNE is in the follow up...they aren't going to chase you...they are BUSY and need to be reminded) 6. POST ON FACEBOOK 4+ TIMES A DAY (use hootsuite if needed) 7. READ 10 PAGES OF A PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT BOOK (i.e. Go Pro, Compound Effect, Slight Edge) 8. LISTEN TO 15 MINUTES OF AUDIO (personal development) and/or work on trainings. Tips About Facebook: 1. Post things NOT about Beachbody. 2. Your goal is to ADD VALUE. 3. Always think to yourself, "Would you want to be your friend on facebook?" 4. Post motivational photos, recipes, tips, photos of you working out, photos of you drinking shakeology, etc. 5.
