2 General Information and Hints No entry fees for any entry. 1 st & 2 nd prize cards for all sections, classes and ages. Sashes for most successful Open and Junior exhibitors in pavilion. $50 to most successful in pavilion overall. Various other special mention prizes awarded at judge s discretion. All Pavilion exhibits to be posted or delivered as early as possible to allow stewards time to display items before pavilion opens on show day. Deliveries accepted at the showground from 9.00am Friday 23 rd or by phoning Sonia Reichelt M: to arrange prior delivery. Stewards at pavilion from 7.00am show day. No entries will be accepted after 8.00am as judging will be underway. Prize cards not to be taken off exhibits before 3.00 pm. All enquiries to Sonia M: GARDEN PRODUCE Section GP FRUIT & VEGETABLES This is an Open Competition. Must be grown by exhibitor, be clean, insect free, blemish free, of even sizing and placed on white paper plates. Please leave a touch of stem attached to your fruit/vegetables. Class: 1. Three Tomatoes, same variety 2. One Cucumber 3. Two Capsicum, same variety 4. Three Root Vegetable, same variety 5. 6 Climbing Beans, same variety 6. Selection Of Five Different Vegetables 7. a hand tied bouquet from your vegetable garden. any flowers & foliage of vegetables or herbs presented in an attractive hand tied bunch. Own Vase. 3 THE GREAT BACKYARD PUMPKIN CHALLENGE This is an Open Competition. Find some quality seeds and some space and see how big you can grow a pumpkin for The Great Backyard Pumpkin Challenge. Class: 1. Pumpkin under 50kg 2. Pumpkin over 50kg EGGS This is an Open Competition. Eggs presented in an egg carton, clean and of similar size, one variety. Class: 1. Six Chicken Eggs 2. Six Bantam Eggs 3. Six Duck Eggs VEGETABLE CHARACTER Entries presented on a white paper plate. Can use toothpicks to secure parts and craft eyes, or texta for eyes only if needed. No other non-fruit or veg props allowed. OPEN CLASS 1. One Fruit And Vegetable Creation of your choice PRIMARY SCHOOL CLASS 1. 4 CUT FLOWERS & FLORAL ART Section CFFA CUT FLOWERS This is an Open Competition. Must be grown by exhibitor. Be sure flowers are fresh. Single bloom, one flower only on stem. Exhibit HEALTHY plants only, check for insects. We have green bottles to display all cut flowers. Class: 1. One Cut Rose 2. One Cut Dahlia 3. One Unique Flower Of Your Choice 4. One Vase Of Full Bloom Roses, Three Stems, Same Cultivar FLORAL ART This is an Open Competition. Class: 1. Australian Native One vase of mixed native cuts. Vase any style. Maximum display diameter 500mmm 2. Posy Of Your Choice, tied firmly and placed into a clear glass jar, selfgrown 3. Artistic Arrangement Of Your Choice. Can use props and need not be self-grown POTTED PLANTS Clean pots and plants. Wipe dust off leaves. Maximum pot size 30cm diameter. OPEN CLASS 1. One potted Succulent or succulents PRIMARY SCHOOL CLASS 1. One potted succulent or succulents. Extra points for creativity. First prize $5, second prize $2 Page 4

5 JAMS and PRESERVES Section JP This is an Open Competition. All exhibits to be made by Exhibitor. Amateurs only. Jars to be minimum of 250gm capacity & easily opened. Clean with old labels removed. Points for presentation, consistency and flavour. Class 1. Jar of Plum Jam 2. Jar of Strawberry Jam 3. Jar of Marmalade 4. Jar of Tomato Chutney 5. Jar of Any Relish, NOT Tomato 6. Bottle of Any Homemade Sauce 7. Jar of Any Other Preserved Produce such as, olives, pickled onions, sun dried tomatoes, pickled vegetable HOME MADE BEVERAGES Section HMB This is an Open Competition. Home Brew. Clean bottles, no commercial labels. Class 1 One Stubbie Of Home Brewed Lager CRAFT Section Craft All work to be work of exhibitor and not having won a prize previously at this show. This section is an Open Competition. 1. Recycled or Upcycled Clothing Class Google photos of clothing from recycled materials for ideas and inspiration. No direct copies please. 9 CHILDREN S ART Section C ART Ribbon First prize plus $4.00 Ribbon Second prize plus $2.00 PRE-SCHOOL AND PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILDREN ONLY. Art must be entered by 4 pm. on Wednesday 21st and remain in the Pavilion until 3 pm on Saturday. CLASS 1. Paper Mache Easter Eggs 2. Hanging Mobile 3. Collage 4. Painting African Theme 5. Painting of Ducks 6. Painting of Animal(s) FINE ARTS Section Fine ART All decorative art must be delivered to the Walwa Bush Nursing Centre by Thursday 22 nd March and remain in the Pavilion until 3pm on Show day. All exhibits must be the work of the exhibitor, the onus of proof of bonafides will rest the exhibitor. All work must be mounted and framed ready for hanging. Exhibitors name, return address and title must be clearly printed on the back of any exhibit. All wrappings of exhibits must also have return address clearly printed on the back of any exhibit. The JDAPH Society Inc will exercise all reasonable care for work submitted but will not be responsible for damage or loss while exhibits are in their custody, or for insurance in transit. If art work on paper is not mounted on card with a rope hanger on the reverse side, stewards reserve the right to hang these artworks with pins. Art work to be collected at the end of the day (before 5pm). Page 9

11 PHOTOGRAPHY Section P Amateurs only No previous prize winning exhibit at the Jingellic Show will be re-accepted for entry Maximum of 2 entries per class Print size limited to 15cm x 10cm (6 x 4 inches) All prints to be mounted on thin white or black cardboard with approximately 25mm (1 inch) border of equal sizing Exhibitor s name and section on the back. Age included for Junior Section. Monochrome prints (classes 1 & 5) may be black & white or have one overall tone e.g. sepia Creative prints (classes 4 & 8) are images created by digitally altering aspects of photographs which must be taken by the exhibitor.
