1 2017 Jefferson County Fair EXHIBIT HANDBOOK For Home Economics, Arts & Crafts & Photography July 20 23rd in Hillsboro, MO

2 Dear Exhibitor: Fair Exhibits at the Jefferson County Fair 2017 will be on exhibit July in the Civic Center Building in Hillsboro. Enclosed please find the list of classes. Please note that some classes have specific directions for displaying the exhibit. One item may be entered in each class subdivision per person, (example: 1-a, 1-b, etc.). Please fill out the enclosed entry form and return it to: Fair Exhibits, P.O. Box 497, Hillsboro, MO by July 12. Anyone planning to enter items MUST submit their entry form by this July 12 deadline. This will save time when you bring your items and eliminate waiting. You will be able to attach entry numbers and claim tags to your items at the Civic Center Building on Wednesday when you bring your items. Bring your items on Wednesday, July 19, between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. or between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. No entries will be accepted after 8:00 p.m. Wednesday. The exhibits will be judged on Thursday morning. Entry pick-up is Sunday, July 23, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. There will be no admission fee if you are only picking up your articles. So, mark your calendar for the Jefferson County Fair 2017 and share your talents with the community. Exhibitor may enter one article in any one class subdivision. Entry pick-up time is Sunday, July 23, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. The committee has the right to accept or reject any article. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ARTICLES LEFT ON DISPLAY. The committee will place all exhibits. There will be separate classes for adults and juniors (12 and under). The decisions of the judges are final. Ribbons are not awarded to all entries. 4 LOT B Canned Food All products must be exhibited in colorless standard canning jars, rings, and lids. Each product should be labeled to include NAME OF FOOD, YEAR, PROCESSING METHOD and TIME. Exhibit with rings on jars to protect seal. All classes must be in colorless jelly jars. No refrigerator jams will be accepted. To insure and promote food safety, entries must be canned according to USDA food preservation guidelines, available at the Extension office.
