1 Home Arts Department RULES: 1. All entries in the Home Arts Department must be home prepared, canned or packaged by the exhibitor within one year of the opening date of the fair. 2. Items may not have been previously exhibited at the Napa Town and Country Fair. 3. Exhibitors entering in a Professional Division, (i.e.: Cake Decorating), may not enter in any amateur categories directly related to that division (i.e.: layer cakes). 4. Items should be brought to the Fair on/in disposable containers, i.e. aluminum tins, cardboard cake forms, paper plates, etc. Do Not Bring items in or on something that you want returned. SPECIAL AWARDS HOMEMAKER OF THE YEAR The Napa Valley Exposition will award $ to the OVERALL HOMEMAKER OF THE YEAR. Exhibitors wishing to qualify for this award must enter in all four categories of the Home Arts Department: Baked Goods, Clothing, Preserved Foods and Textiles in order to qualify. NEW! Points will be awarded based on awards made by the judges, with a maximum of 6 of the highest awards in each of the 4 categories, with 3 points awarded for 1st, 2 points awarded for 2nd and 1 point awarded for a 3rd place. In the event of a tie, special awards (i.e. Best of, Best of Division and/or Best of Show, will be used to calculate the winner. Exhibitors wishing to be considered for HOMEMAKER OF THE YEAR should clearly mark so on their entry form. Ties will be broken at the Judge s discretion.

RULES: 1. A quilt is defined as a two layer fabric work with filler between being held together with fine running stitches, tied, machine or a combination. 2. The top of the quilt must be of pieced materials or whole solid cloth; no preprinted imitation piece work. 3. Each quilt must contain a 3" wide sleeve to be sewn by hand on the top edge of the back of quilt for DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY. 4. Not all quilts will be displayed hanging from the wall. The jars used must be standard canning jars. Any other variation will be disqualified and not judged. 4. The judged jars of preserves, marmalades, jams, jellies, bottled juices, canned fruits, vegetables, sauces, pickles and relishes must be picked up on Wednesday, July 25th between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 p.m. 5. Table settings shall be set on card tables, which the exhibitor will provide. 2. The table shall be set for two (2) only. 3. Tables must be covered with appropriate table cloth, with an overhang of at least twelve (12") inches. The table cloth shall not touch the floor. 4. Care will be taken to insure safety of the table setting; however the 25th District Agricultural Association assumes no responsibility to damaged or stolen items from the table setting. 5. One card, at least 5" x 7", explaining your table setting, is required. 6. The fair will move all table settings into their final display locations after judging.
