2 2 LETTERO COLOR MATCHING The program LETTERO COLOR MATCHING provides optimal coditios for assessig ad measurig of color o all types of workstatios i accordace with the requiremets of ergoomics ad ISO lightig stadards. RGB CMYK RGB CMY(K) CIE Lab COLOR MANAGEMENT The color impressio is formed by the stimulatio of the eye cells by light of differet wavelegths correspodig to the three additive primary colors of RGB color model. I the pritig process a color image is created i the devices which are a source of light themselves (moitors) ad o aalog prits viewed i reflected light. I the former case, the color impressio is formed uder the ifluece of light emitted by the device of the above-metioed three colors of RGB color model, i.e. the so-called RGB color space. I the latter case uder the ifluece of achromatic light (R=G=B), filtered through complemetary CMY colors ad achromatic black (K), i the so-called CMYK color space. Withi each of such spaces it is possible to obtai a differet rage of colors, kow as color gamut. Also, each device ad each pritig techique is characterized by its ow limited color gamut, resultig from techical parameters (eg. the properties of the pritig substrate). For istace gamuts of moitors are poorer tha the rage of colors distiguished by the huma eye, ad gamuts of the pritig devices (CMYK) are poorer tha the color gamut of RGB moitors. For this reaso, it is ot possible to achieve the perfect color reproductio, but oly the most similar colors. For optimal color reproductio all the colors that the huma eye ca recogize are defied i the deviceidepedet color space CIE Lab whereas ICC (Iteratioal Color Cosortium) itroduced the tables called color profiles associated with each device ad pritig techology to allow the color coversio betwee the gamuts of differet devices ad matchig with the most similar couterpart. Color maagemet techique is used for covertig by CMM modules (color maagemet modules) the colors betwee the color spaces of idividual devices via the Lab (PCS). This techique is ot perfect ad there are always differeces betwee the origial colors ad the colors of reproductio. All of the light source used i the color matchig lettero meet the requiremets of ISO 3664 ad , as well as idustry stadards applicable i the EU ad are paited i eutral colors accordig to the recommedatios of these stadards (N7 or N8 Musell scale).
