The supply list is limited to the essential items. Supplies were selected to accommodate field trips and travel to and from various locations. Please get a backpack to carry your supplies in. Try not to deviate from this list. This class will introduce students to drawing and watercolor painting while studying abroad in the historic city of Paris, France. Course content includes in-class presentations about the history of watercolors in addition to watercolor lessons and demonstrations. Students will visit the art museums of Paris and paint on site at various locations within the city such as the Louvre and Tuileries Gardens. Emphasis will be placed on direct observation, composition, color, and drawing. The course is designed for all levels of students.

Learning Outcomes: Apply the elements of design (line, shape, color, texture, space, form) and relevant issues to the creation of works of art using water-based media. The weblinks below will take you directly to what you need. You can click the items, place them in your basket and complete the online order. If you order supplies, keep in mind you will need them by our May 12th meeting. Option 2 is to purchase your supplies from Hobby Lobby. The price below is a bit higher because the items are listed at full price. The kit will average around $80 with the 50% off and the coupon (see info below). Please read: I did my best to keep supply costs low and I limited the list to the essential items. I also took into consideration the field trips that we will take and travel to and from various locations. I do encourage you to have a backpack to carry your supplies in. Please do not deviate from this list. If you choose to purchase supplies elsewhere, I cannot guarantee that you will get good results on your paintings while we are in France. Keep in mind that you may have to purchase additional paper at a local art store in Paris if you run out. Again, please have your supplies with you at our May 12th meeting. OPTION 2: From Hobby Lobby Type Brand Item Number Quanity Price (Each) Price (Total) Brush Masters Touch Golden Talkon Size 8 N/A 1 $8.99 $8.99 Brush Masters Touch Golden Talkon Size 12 N/A 1 $12.99 $12.99 Paint Set Windsor Newton Travel Set N/A 1 $35.99 $35.99 Paper Strathmore W'color Spiral Pad 9x12" N/A 2 $11.49 $22.98 Plastic Cups/Tops Twisterz Storage Container (9oz Cups) N/A 2 $3.49 $6.98 Eraser Faber-Castle Medium N/A 1 $1.99 $0.62 Sharpener Helix Sharpener or equivalent N/A 1 $1.99 $1.65 Pencils "HB"or mechanical pencil N/A 2 $0.99 $1.98 Small Art Spray Bottle Hobby Lobby N/A 1 $2.49 $2.79 $94.97 Total Estimated Cost (Tax Not included) Hobby Lobby 40% off one item coupon: Using this coupon can be applied to the highest priced item such as the $39.99 paint kit. Also, many of the brushes were 50% off the day I researched supplies.

EXAMPLES OF SUPPLIES; HOBBY LOBBY The travel kit t to the left was chosen because of the colors and palette size. It is pricey but use the 40% off Hobby Lobby Coupon if you purchase your supplies there. Brushes--my advice for brushes: Purchase the two below if you go to Hobby Lobby. DO NOT PURCHASE PACKS OF BRUSHES. The two below are all you should need for class.

Get 2 of the Twisterz containers: one for clean water one for dirty water Below: Kneaded Eraser does not have to be brand specific--you can get General brand or others depending on availability. Same with the pencil sharpener. Stathmore Watercolor pads are good, quality watercolor paper. Avoid other (cheaper) brands. You get what you pay for!

OPTIONAL SUPPLIES: I recommend the F or M if you decide to purchase these pens.
