Black and white photography and color photography are emphasized through the use of digital cameras and Adobe Photoshop. Emphasis throughout the course will be placed on strengthening photo composition, manipulations, display and Photoshop techniques. Materials and Fee - 1 or 1 ½ inch binder with notebook paper - pencils and/or black pens - optional - USB flash drive (the cheaper the better) The fee for Photography and Communication Design is $15 for the year. Please make checks payable to Grafton High School. Classroom Expectations 1. Please leave food and drinks outside the computer lab and studio. 2. Show respect for yourself, each other, and equipment. 3. Be prepared and on time. 4. Listen during instructions an follow all directions. 5. Participate, do your best! 2 Grading Policy Grading for Photography will be based on a point scale. Projects and assignments will vary in points possible based on length of time, concept and skill level. Students will be given a rubric before each project letting them know the specific requirements for each project. The range for possible points will be: Projects/Tests: points Quizzes/Mini Daily Projects: points Classwork/Homework: points Participation: 5-20 points Projects and daily assignments make up a large percentage of students grades. Projects must be completed in class and student s with excused absences should arrange to stay after school to make up missed work. Points will be deducted for late assignments and students will need to stay after to finish their work. Second semester the skills will be combined to focus on product and print designs.
