Hot with new ideas, new products, and the temperature in Las Vegas was 100 degrees plus! It really made us appreciate our beautiful NC mountains that are cool and green! This year s format will be a little different. We will have various stations for you to visit throughout the night. We will again have demoes, discounts, dinner, and door prizes. Bernina Club This is your opportunity to learn fun sewing techniques and tricks from Susan Fears, one of Bernina s expert educators! Susan will come to us virtually to present a lesson that incorporates pressure feet, accessories, Bernina machines, and overlock/serger techniques, and projects for everyday living. We will watch the recorded video presentation and practice some of the techniques that were shown using store machines. You will not need to bring your machine or sewing supplies for this club. Small supply fee may be charged depending on the lesson. The club is for sewers of all levels and abilities. If you can t attend the virtual lesson that day, you can bring your USB and get them after the class date. You must bring a USB to get the lesson downloaded to take home. Each class fee of $10 and begins at. September 16 Quilting With Rulers; Add quilted lines and shapes into your blocks with quilting rulers. Learn how to work with Bernina s newest foot, the adjustable ruler foot #72 October 28 Ruffle Your Edges; Just one tool can create many sizes and shapes of ruffles to compliment any edge. Great for clothing, home décor, and quilting. The ruffler foot #86 can create the perfect finish. November 18 Free Motion Effects; Thread painting and free motion quilting are easier to do with the correct pressure foot. Discover the difference between the Bernina quilting feet and which to use to be more successful.

4 Page 4 Beginning Quilting This class leads you through the whole process of making a small, beginner level rail fence quilt, from choosing and cutting the fabrics to sewing the top, to sandwiching the batting, then doing the quilting and binding. It is a great introduction to quilting for those who want to get started and will also help to hone skills for those who have already made some quilts. This is a six class series. October 4, 11, 18, 25, November 1, and :00 $90 Teacher Becky Shippy Beginning Free Motion Quilting The only way to improve your free motion quilting skills is to practice. We will be making 12 quilt sandwiches and learning new quilting designs while building a collection of samples to use for reference when deciding to machine quilt projects. Try various threads and battings to see which combination gives you the desired look. We will begin a variety of designs, learn to stipple, practice making pebbles and lots more. Gain the confidence you need to finish those beautiful quilt tops yourself. 5 Landscape Design Do you have a picture of a favorite landscape scene you would like to recreate in fabric? In this class, you will learn to make a pattern from your picture and select fabrics to use to make your scene. You will learn to construct the wall-hanging as well as techniques to enhance the designs using thread painting, free motion quilting, shading, and highlighting using fabric crayons or paints. September 25-4:00 $50 Teacher Patty Blanton Log Cabin in a Day What could more fun than completing a traditional quilt top with a modern flair in a day? Join Pam in this class to learn how to make a quick gift for this upcoming holiday season. September 30-4:00 $50 Pam Ayoub Hemlock Tee Lose the fear of using a serger and discover how fun it is to make your own custom t-shirt. Vanessa will show you what she learned at Bernina University. Come to the store to chose your size and fabric. October 12-2:00 Teacher Vanessa Clark Ruler Work You can do ruler work on a domestic machine using a ruler foot and various rulers and add a whole new dimension to your quilting. With the basic ruler foot you can set your machine to do ruler work. In this class you will learn to use the basic 12 arc ruler to do a variety of designs that incorporate both straight and curved lines. Straight and curved cross-hatching are easy to do with virtually no marking. Stitch in the ditch and echo quilting around patchwork designs is much easier using the basic ruler. Are you ready to kick it up a notch and take your machine quilting to the next level? October 18-4:00 Feathers and Beyond This class will take your free motion quilting to the next level as you learn to quilt various feather designs. Begin with a basic bump back feather and learn to add fills and frills. Learn to do border fills as well as background fills. Modify them to create ferns, leaves, and holly shapes. October 25-4:00 $50 Teacher Patty Blanton Ruler Work Bag Looking for a way to get more practice using your ruler foot and rulers? This little zippered bag was designed by Amanda Murphy and would make a great cosmetic bag or zippered pouch. The design possibilities are endless depending on the ruler and quilting designs used and the type of fabric and thread selected. The emphasis will be on using the rulers to create the quilting design. Once quilted, this bag is easy and quick to put together. The interior of the bag could easily be customized by adding pouches and pockets to accommodate a variety of uses. Get a head start on Christmas gifts.
