Follow cutting and piecing instructions found in Baby/Lap Quilt Showcase pattern, using these modified directions as you go: - Fabric A is for the log cabin block centers, large blocks and the outer border. - Fabric B and C are the same fabric for the logs of the log cabin blocks. - Fabric D, E, and J are the same fabric for the logs of the log cabin blocks and piping/flange. - Fabric F and G are the same fabric for the logs of the log cabin blocks. - Fabric H, I and L are the same fabric for the logs of the log cabin blocks and the binding. - Continue to follow the pattern instructions to complete the lap quilt, quilting in step 8 with the Simply Hearts Quilting Embroidery Designs. To prepare the quilt for embroidery quilting, refer to the instructions on the CD under "Tips for Stress-Free Quilting with Embroidery". Optional: In lieu of hooping the quilt, use the Wash Away Extra Self Adhesive Stabilizer rather than hooping the fabric. Simply hoop the stabilizer, score and remove the paper, then adhere the fabric to the sticky area of the stabilizer. Design placement and alignment tip: To ensure proper placement of designs, we recommend that you print templates for each of the designs used (as noted on the following pages) and arrange them on the quilt top. Although you can use conventional printer paper to print templates, using Translucent Foundation Paper will allow you to see through the paper, making it easier to align the designs. Be sure to trim away excess paper around stitch field for easier arranging. Once you are satisfied with the placement, tape them in placewith Sewer's Fix-It Tape. Tape templates down with Sewer's Fix-It Tape. The low tack adhesive allows the tape to be removed easily without leaving adhesive residue on your fabric. 5 Outer Border Corners Special Instructions for corner designs: Border corner designs are stitched in color Use Bonus Design 1 for the corner designs. Repeat the corner designs in each of the four corners making the appropriate rotations. - Upper left corner - no rotation - Lower left corner - Lower right corner - Upper right corner Bonus Design 1
