Before adding embroidery, seam side front to jacket front and press up hem on upper sleeve pieces. Use Fusible No-Show Mesh Stabilizer in conjunction with Hydro-Stick Tear-Away Stabilizer. First, stabilize the entire wrong side of the pieced fabric with Fusible No-Show Mesh Stabilizer. Next, use the Hydro-Stick Tear-Away Stabilizer rather than hooping the fabric. Simply hoop the stabilizer and adhere the fabric to the sticky area of the stabilizer. Economize by using stabilizer on a roll. Instead of cutting the stabilizer to the size of the hoop, keep the stabilizer on the roll when you hoop. After embroidering the first section, carefully tear away the fabric from the stabilizer. Give the stabilizer a quick press to smooth out the wrinkles from the first hooping. Then rehoop the next section of stabilizer and continue embroidering. All design components are pictured on the following pages. Each grouping indicates the order in which the various designs making up that grouping should be stitched. In each instance, start with background designs and work toward foreground designs. Some designs are embroidered over portions of other designs. Please note special instructions for the left front, right cuff, and left cuff. Remove excess stabilizer according to stabilizer instructions after embroidering each section. Layout and Modifications The guides on this and following pages indicate which designs were used, where those designs were placed on the jacket, and how the designs were modified (resized, rotated, mirror imaged, colors skipped, and/or thread colors modified from those indicated with the designs), as well as the design stitching order. 4 Left Front Stitching Order #138 #101 # # **15 = 1147/1133 **16 = 1181/1366 ** Color 15: Thread color switch in the middle of embroidering so ribbon stitches as 1147 Christmas Red and ornament stitches as 1133 Blue. Start embroidering with 1147 Christmas Red. Stop machine when right portion of ribbon section is stitched and starts stitching the ornament. Change to thread 1133 Blue and stitch the ornament section. Stop machine when ornament section is stitched and starts stitching the upper ribbon section. Change thread back to 1147 Christmas Red and stitch the remainder of the ribbon section. ** Color 16: Thread color switch in the middle of embroidering so ribbon stitches as 1181 Bayberry and ornament stitches as 1366 Eggplant. Start embroidering with 1181 Bayberry. Stop machine when right portion of ribbon section is stitched and starts stitching the ornament. Change to thread 1366 Eggplant and stitch the ornament section. Stop machine when ornament section is stitched and starts stitching the upper ribbon section. Change thread back to 1181 Bayberry and stitch the remainder of the ribbon section.

Special instructions: To give the appearance of the ribbon wrapping around the pine bough, the two designs must be merged together; then thread juggling will be required. Thread juggling means portions of a design will initially be skipped, then embroidered later by returning to the skipped portion. For the right portion of the cuff, merge together designs #121 and following the modifying instructions above, with design #121 to stitch first. Stitch design #121, color 1, to the point that the first two curly sections of the ribbon are fully embroidered. Stop the machine when underlay stitches start to embroider the third curly section. Advance machine and embroider design #121, color 2, and design, colors 1 3 as normal. Advance the machine back to the third curly section and continue embroidering until curl is complete.
