2 General Conditions 1. All taxes must be included. 2. Tenders which are incomplete, conditional, obscure, or qualified may be rejected as invalid. 3. Deviations from specifications must be noted with the bid proposal. Deviations will be considered informalities in bidding and may not be accepted by the Town. 4. In case of tie low bids, the Town reserves the right to use the most expedient means available to arrive at an award. 5. Public Tendering Opening: 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, 2016 at the Town Office, 5 High Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL A2A 2J8. 6. Faxed tenders will only be accepted as a change to the tender already received. 7. Prices quoted must be F.O.B. Town Hall, 5 High Street, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. 8. The Town of Grand Falls-Windsor reserves the right to reject any or all tenders and to accept any bid deemed to be in the Town s best interest. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. 9. 4 SPECIFICATIONS FOR BRONZE PLAQUES Tenders are invited for the supply of bronze plaques for the Memorial Grounds Cenotaph as per attached drawing. (a) Typical corner of plaque line border as shown in details 2:L5 and 3:L5 on attached drawing. (b) Bronze Panel #1 Text as shown on attached drawing. Text height approximately 26 mm. Line border as shown in detail 2:L5 on attached drawing. (c) Bronze Panel #2 Text to present names of fallen from: - WWI ( ): sixty-two (62) names total - WWII ( ): forty-one (41) names total - Korean War ( ): two (2) names total Full list of names to be provided by the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor. Text height for year headings to be approximately 20 mm and laid out roughly as shown on attached drawing. Text height for names to be approximately 16 mm and laid out roughly as shown on attached drawing: - in three columns for WWI and WWII - in two columns for Korean War Line border as shown in detail 2:L5 on attached drawing. 4

5 (d) Notes applying to both plaques: Plaques to be stud mounted flush with granite surface as approved by the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor. Line border and all text to be of polished bronze finish. Alternatives to line border design may be proposed in consultation with the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor. Plaque background to be textured finish with brown coloration. Exact texture and color to be determined in consultation with the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor. All text to be approximately 2 mm in depth. Font to be determined in consultation with the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor. Contractor to provide measured shop drawings of plaques showing final text layout and line border details to the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor for approval prior to fabrication. Contractor to provide samples of bronze text, line border, and background in specified finishes to the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor for approval prior to fabrication. 5
