1 Taarangan Division, Human Resource Department, Head Office Ref No: HOlTaarangan/SMS/ /-1763 Date: 16 th Dec, 2013 TENDER FOR DESIGNING & PRINTING OF OUR HOUSE JOURNAL "TAARANGAN" Sealed Tenders are invited in two-bid system from reputed Printers having Office I Printing Press at Mumbai I Navi Mumbai for the captioned job. Detailed list of Specifications / Terms and Conditions is enclosed as Annexure-I. Please go through the specifications and get fully acquainted with nature of job before submitting tender. Technical Bid and Financial Bid as per Annexure-II and III respectively are required to be submitted in separate sealed covers and the same should reach us on or before am on 6 th January, 2014 (Monday). Technical Bids to be accompanied by a Demand Draft / Payslip Issued / Banker's Cheque in favor of "Bank of India" for ~50,000/- as EMD. Parties/ Companies / firms who would not submit EMD along with their Technical Bids will not be opened. The Tenderers may submit performance samples of similar nature executed I being executed by them, along with the Technical Bid. Financial Bid to contain price bid only. Covers to be clearly marked accordingly. Successful Tenderer whose tender is accepted will have to execute an agreement prescribed by the Bank. EMD submitted will form part of Security Deposit. EMD of other parties whose tenders are not accepted will be refunded without any interest thereon. Tender forms will be available from the Taarangan Division, Bank of India, Head Office, Star House, 9 th "floor, C-5, "G" Block, Bandra Kurla Complex, Bandra (East) on payment of ~500/- by pay order only on Bank working days from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm from the date of issue of this tender. In case bidder downloads the form from our site, then a DD/Pay order for the cost amount to be enclosed in separate cover clearly marked accordingly. The Bank reserves the right to reject any/all tenders invited, without assigning any reasons thereof. 2 Annexure-I SPECIFICATIONS 1. Quantity 21,000 copies per issue. 2. Periodicity Quarterlv- Everv December, March, June and September 3. Language Bilinqual (Hindi & Enolish) 4. Size 8.25"x 10.7" (Trimmed) 5. Number of Cover 4 pages + Text 56 pages = Total 60 pages Pages (Hindi and English matter will be equal and have a mixed layout) 6. Color All oaoes (lncludlno cover) in 4 - colors 7. Perforation 4 pages, if required-as per our choice. Actual Perforation (Perforation marks shall not be accepted). 8. Process Photo offset process. 9. Photo type Photo tvoesettinq to be handled by you. i) Layout / design / dummy artworks to be prepared by your designer/artist, exclusively assigned to us. Six color positives/transparencies should be provided by you per issue. ii) Typed / neatly handwritten manuscripts in Hindi and English and color photographs/ transparencies will be provided by us. 10. Setting / iii) All costs for typesetting, all color transparencies, design, proofs, Designing designer/artist's fees, artwork making etc. to be included in the rate. Illustrations, sketches, and drawings required will be treated as part of design. iv) Every stage of the process will be finalized in consultation with us and should be finalized with our approval. We will check only the final proofs of both languages before final setting. Printer will be solely liable for any discrepancies found in final printing. It may result in the rejection of printing of forthcoming issues. Processing costs to be included in the rate for 6 full, 150 medium sized color photographs, and 94 passport size color photographs per issue on an adjustable basis during the period of contract. Gang scanning quality is not acceptable. Color photographs printed may be suitably corrected while scanning. -All color pages may involve use of multiple flat screens. Combinations, mixing or super imposing of color pictures. An exclusive representative of the printing press should be made available 12. Liaison to the Bank for co-ordination between Bank and other persons / agencies involved in the process of printing the House Journal. 3 Every stage of the above cycle to be approved and okayed by us. Digitall Machine proofs of full 60 pages to be shown to us for our approval. The printer will be held responsible for delay at any stage (except stage iv). In case of non-adherence to the time schedule as above or any such time schedule as may be mutually agreed upon, the Bank will at its sole discretion will have right to levy a penalty of 5% per week on the bill amount, recoverable from the Bill. In addition, if printer expresses his inability to print magazine at any stage & for any reason during the contract period, the bank shall have right to levy penalty as it may find deemed fit. Delivery Text Pages, 56 pages, 4 color-130 GSM Imported Art Paper (Gloss) Necessary wastage of paper while production will be on the Printer's account. Delay due to non-availability of paper will not be accepted. In case, it is found that the paper used for any copy is not of the same quality and specification as selected from those mentioned above, the bank would be at liberty to levy penalty, as decided by the Bank, or even refuse payment for the entire issue. Specimens of the said quality of papers should be sent along with the technical bid. Collated and Perfect binding and cut to size along with UV Varnishing on the Cover. Packed as 50 copies for delivery. The printer will arrange for the inspection, by the Bank, of the quality and quantity of the finished copies, at the premises/ godown of the printer. Over and above the delivery of large number of copies to our Mailing Agencies I Couriers, the printer will also be required to deliver around 6,000 copies to about 20 destinations in Mumbai I Navi Mumbai area without additional cost. The delivery to be completed within 2 days after receiving the delivery instructions.. Escalation of any kind in the accepted rate shall not be permitted during the currency of the contract, which shall be for two years, unless and otherwise specifically stated. The entire performance of the contract to be undertaken by the tenderer; any job work to be given to any outsider shall not be accepted. The Bank will not compromise on the quality, quantity and delay. Any type of variation in the quality of paper and printing, quantity of copies will not be acceptable in any case and the Bank has sole authority to hold the payment of relative bills, levy penalty (as decided by the Bank) or even refuse payment for the entire issue. It may also result in the rejection of printing of forthcoming issues. No advance payment will be made for any purpose. In case of performance and service being found to our fullest satisfaction, the duration of the contract may be extended by one year or more years, on the same terms and conditions, with or without improvement in the specifications, at the same or reduced tender value.
