I am joining my mother and sister on our traditional trip to Nancy s Notions Sewing Weekend in Beaver Dam, WI May 3-6. This marks 30 years of Sewing with Nancy, so there is bound to be lots of excitement. Mary Jo, Claudia, and I will be heading to Quilt Market in Kansas City May I know we will come back with exciting new notions, projects, and fabrics to share with you. Snippets from Sandy Since we will be traveling on Monday, May 21, the Stitcher s Garden BOM will be moved to Tuesday, May 22. I hope this works for everyone. We are offering the T-Shirt Quilt again in May. There is still plenty of time to get those quilts done for graduation. We are offering several new classes, so... try a new tool, laminate some fabric, dust off your computer... Try something new! Happy Mother's Day to all! May Day Baskets Tuesday, May 1: 1-4 pm Join us to make a basket out of snippets of fabric and thread. The project will look like you ve been stitching forever but is a snap to put together with some quick straight stitches. Bring your sewing machine and we ll supply the rest. $10 includes supplies

You will make your first quilt... BYOM Sat., May 12: 1-4 pm Tools Galore Tumbler Baby Quilt Make this darling little baby quilt using the Mini- Tumbler template. Shop from our collection of charm packs or pick a variety of fabrics yourself. This quilt is so quick and easy that we will be teaching a BONUS tool instruction along with this class. $10.00 plus supplies and fabric. BYOM 1 session of 3 hours Thurs., May 24: Red Delicious Learn to use the large Apple Core and how to sew easy curves using this fun template. You can chose from our many fabrics or follow our lead and make a beautiful flannel quilt and be ready for cooler weather (but we won t talk about cold weather right now). $15.00 plus fabric, supplies, and tool. This question and more will be answered as we learn the computer in relation to our embroidery machines. We will cover creating files, downloading, transferring, and more. BYOM Saturday, May 26: 1-4 Introduction to Quilting on the Crown Jewel The class will cover how to load your quilt onto the Crown Jewel Quilt Frame and do free motion quilting. The cost of the class is $40 and includes a coupon to receive a set of zippers and a package of bobbins for $30 (regularly $36.98). Wednesday, May 16: 1-3 or 6-8 Thursday, May 31: 1-3 or 6-8 Serger Basics If you have always been a little intimidated by your serger, now is the time to conquer the feeling. From setting tensions to doing a perfect rolled hem, you ll learn to enjoy your 2/3/4 thread serger. No charge for sergers purchased at Rae-Bon, $50 for others. BYOM Call for appointment.

Saturday, May 5: 10-4 Jo Morton Club The memoires of Jo will be brought to Rae-Bon in Jo s Little Women Club. Eight patterns for lap or doll quilts and wall hangings will be used through the year. These are exclusive to the Jo Mortons club 11. Meetings will include sampling foods, guests, great door prizes, show and tell, and possibly even field trips. $60 for 12 months Tuesday, May 8: 2-4 or 6-8 Paper Piecing Club Join us each month to work on a new paper piecing project. Club members help choose projects. $5 plus kit fee (varies by project), BYOM Monday, May 28: Stitchin with Wool Love the look of felted wool projects, but don t know where to begin? Come sit and stitch with us and learn the easy techniques by creating a different wool project each month. $5 plus kit fee (varies by project) Tuesday, May 15: 5:30-7:30 Stitcher s Garden Party Day We will be covering month two of the Stitcher s Garden Block of the Month. 5 P A G E 5 Class Policies Call or stop in to sign up and pay for the class of your choice. Class fee is due when you register. Phone registrations ( ) accepted only with a charge card payment. The class supply list will be available when you register and pay for the class. Supplies are not included in the class fee. Please have supplies purchased before class. Kits required are available at the store. BYOM means bring your own machine. No photocopied patterns or books will be allowed in classes. We consider your enrollment to be a commitment by you to take the class and we in turn make a commitment to the instructor. No cancellations are allowed on classes. Thank you for not asking us to make exceptions. Your sewing machine or serger must be in top working condition before you arrive at class. Students whose equipment is not working properly disturb and slow down the class. We service all brands of machines and sergers so come see us prior to the start of the class. If you get together a group of 2 or more friends, we would be happy to setup a class date and time just for you.
