2 Page 2 Round Tuffet Wouldn t it be fun to use our favorite fabric to make a piece of furniture? If this sounds interesting, then this is the class for you. In just two classes you will create your own unique tuffet. If you know how to use a rotary cutter and can sew a straight line, the class will be nothing but fun. In the first class you learn the technique to make the cover to your tuffet. You will then have time to complete your cover before the second class. The second class we put it all together. Required: Upholstery kit - $120 fee payable to the instructor. Rotary cutter experience. Instructor: Julie Fee: $63 Saturdays, January 13; 12 3 pm and February 3, 12 4pm This is a Serger! Quilted Tote Bag This is a fun bag that can be quickly completed with the serger. The center has a gathered puffing strip and an inside pocket for items you don t want to lose in the bottom of the bag. By the time you are finished, you will have lined the bag with channel quilting. A unique handle that holds the top of the bag secure adds to the usefulness of this bag. Don t have a serger? Instructor: Coleen Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses The beloved children s book author Lucy Boston was also a prolific quilt maker. In this class you will learn how to use the English Paper Technique to make her most famous quilt, The Patchwork of the Crosses. You will also learn tips and tricks for perfect fussy cutting. 3 Page 3 Square Tuffet As with the very successful round tuffet class, the square tuffet will require sewing skills. With the use of templates, you will cut out all the pieces you need to finish your unique piece of furniture. The remainder of our time is spent learning how to sew 1/4 of your tuffet cover together. This will give you the confidence to go home and sew the remaining 3 sections. In the second class, we get out the power tools and you put it all together. Required: Upholstery kit - $120 fee payable to the instructor. Instructor: Julie Fee: $90 Saturdays, January 19; 10:30 am 3:30 pm and February 16; 12 4 pm Our embroidery club is planned to help you make a new project each month, each designed by Kimberbell Designs, and each featuring a new technique to learn or practice. Most of the materials needed will be included in your class fee. Register for each month. Chenille Heart Pennant Those who love machine embroidery will spread the love with this darling chenille heart pennant. The appliquéd heart features two variations for the chenille stitches, diagonal or chevron, on two pennant sizes. Make a single pennant or a banner of coordinating colors. Lucky Stars: A Start to Finish Quilt Count the number of stars you want to make, select that many fat quarters and some background fabric, then put them together in a setting that is both unique and easy. From the first cut to the last stitch we ll be with you all the way. The quilt we will make in this class is 60 x75. It requires a pattern. Instructor: Kim Fee: $72 Fridays, January 18 and 25 and February 15 and 22; 10am- 12pm Beginner Machine Quilting Your quilt top is finally pieced and your pattern ends with those three scary words quilt as desired. Now what? Take a deep breath, drop those feed dogs and start machine quilting! In this class, you ll learn to free-motion quilt some basic designs including curved lines, meandering, echoing and loops. We ll also discuss needles, threads, batting and tension. 5 Page 5 Quilts for Kids On the first Tuesday of each month (exceptions starred) a group of experienced, charityminded quilters meet at PQW to sew for the organization, Quilts for Kids. Quilts are donated to care facilities to be given to children who are ill, abused, or in difficult situations who could use the comfort of a handmade quilt. Although all the spots for sewing participants are filled, we can certainly use more volunteers to sew quilts at home. Kits will be provided. Meets: 10:15 am 3 pm January 15*, February 5, March 6*, April 2, May 7, June 4 English Paper Piecing Group 2019 Sew excited that you will be joining us for the 4th year of the Pennington Quilt Works English Paper Piecing Club. In this club you will receive EPP advice from the instructor, see what others are making, and sit and stitch for two uninterrupted hours. Along the way you will visit with friends old and new, learn the benefit of slow sewing and make a lovely project by hand. We will be focusing on the following EPP project: Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses Required: **If you are new to English Paper Piecing, you must attend a how-to session for an additional fee or the Lucy Boston class. A supply list will be given or sent to you at that time. 100% of class fees are refundable or transferable to another class if cancellation is made at least 72 hours before class. No credit, refund or transfer to another class will be given if 72-hour notice is not given. Our teachers prepare for each student in each class in advance of the class. No-shows forfeit any refund or exchange. Private Class For times when a regularly scheduled class just won t do, we offer private classes to fill the void. Let s say that a class you're interested in requires rotary skills, and you re still snipping along with scissors. Well a 1-hour private class will bring you up to speed. Or say that you really want to get the hang of paper-piecing or some other skill. Or maybe our classes just don t fit in your schedule. Talk to any one of us and we ll find you the right person at the right time to teach you what you need to know. $25 per hour per person.

The mission of the QoVF is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts since The Peacemakers formed just over a year ago, have 27 members and have over 100 quilts either presented, in process or ready to be presented. We will be sewing at Pennington Quilt Works from 10:30 to 3:00 on the following Mondays: January 4, February 11, March 11, April 8, May 13, June 10, August 12, September 9, October 14, November 11, and December 9. Beginning Hand Quilting For some, the relaxing rhythm of hand quilting is the best part of quiltmaking. See if it will be for you, too. First you will learn the basic quilting stitch, and the best of batting, designs, preparing your top for quilting. We will discuss big stitch quilting."
