2 Making a Felted Wool Hat Baby, it s cold outside! Do you know how much body heat is lost through the top of your head? Lots! This is a great recycling project if you have a favorite old wool sweater that has holes in it. Or, you can go to your local thrift store and peruse the choice of 100% wool they have. Cashmere sweaters are wonderful for this. You will take your sweater, and put it in the washer with a pair of runners or laundry balls and hot water. After it has washed, put it in the dryer. You will be surprised at how much it will shrink, so make sure you buy a large sweater! After it has been felted, bring it to class and we will transform it into a beautiful fashion statement that will keep your head warm. We will supply the pattern. 4 Learn to sew series-beginner s sewing This is a class for those of you who want to learn the basics. We will be starting off learning how to take measurements, adjust the pattern to fit. We will be making pyjama pants or boxer shorts. Your choice, so you will learn how to sew a straight line, how to insert elastic etc. I recommend Kwiksew patterns, because they fit the best and are the easiest to follow, however you are free to choose. 4 sessions - 3 hours each = 12 hours classroom time Tuesdays 6:30-9:30 pm March 5,12,19, 26 Cost $ Bag of the Month with Joanne/Courtney In this class we will be doing a different bag each month, starting with a simple All aboard train case. 5 Learn to Sew Series - Basic Lingerie We will be making a pair of panties, camisole, and a slip. You will learn how to mitre corners, make spaghetti straps and make panties that really fit. Would recommend a kwik sew pattern for the best fit, but will teach whatever pattern you choose. A $30.00 supplies kit can be purchased for all 3 pieces from the instructor on the first night (cash only). 6 Margo Johnson - Learn to Sew Series - Get out your feet. How many times have you looked in your sewing box at all the different feet your machine came with and wondered how to use them. We will not be making a project but will be making samples of each application, so it would be handy to bring a notebook that you can staple samples into. Bring you sewing machine and the feet to go with it. You will also need thread any color is fine.
