3 CLASS DETAILS Friday-Saturday 9 th -10 th March pm Fit to Finish (2-day class) kit Looking for the perfect fit? If so you ll need a fitting block /template. From this block you can create any design that you can imagine. This is the easy way to pattern cutting. Using a commercial pattern you will be personally fitted for a top and a skirt. Learn to read the signs of a bad fit and how to correct it. At the end of this two days workshop you will leave with a pattern block, skirt and top toile that fits. Also the manual will help you tackle any alteration you need to make in future. Tuesday 13 th March pm Sewing with twin and triple needles Twin needles sizes 2mm, 3mm and 4mm and triple (drilling) needles. Twin needles can be used on all machines, which can sew a zigzag. They can be used for embroidery, heirloom sewing, quilting, pin tucks and practically, for shortening garments and fine edge finishing both garments and furnishings. Tuesday 20 th March pm *NEW Cushions and Totes This class is for those of you who want to start making bags. We will design a tote bag with or without pockets in a size and style to suit you. Bring your fat quarters and cotton remnants, turn it into a unique bag. Cushions for beginners learn how to measure and cut for a cushion cover. Make a cover with ties or button back trim, each cushion will require 75cm fabric.

4 Wednesday 21 st March pm Brother Open Day - FREE A free day for all CCB customers. A great opportunity for anyone who has a Brother sewing machine, or is looking to get one. Rachel will be covering everything from the new accessories and great sewing techniques to how amazing the machines are! Beginners to advanced, everyone is welcome and you ll be leaving having learned new tricks! Wednesday 28 th March pm *NEW* Styles & Fabrics Guidance Day This is a day for those who have fabric but no idea what to make with it or have a pattern and can t decide what type of fabric would be right for it. A chance to learn the trade names for fabric, making ordering online a bit more straight forward. Bring your garments and we can restyle it or repurpose the fabric. This is a great opportunity to have some wardrobe planning, colour analysis and styling advice. Friday 27 th April pm Sweetpea Roadshow with Brother - FREE A free day for all CCB customers. Sweetpea Machine Embroidery Designs are coming to visit us! Along with Brother Sewing UK, Sweetpea are touring the UK and have chosen CCB s as one of their stops! This day will be a great chance to meet the Sweetpea team, see some in-hoop demonstrations, have some Q&A s and see some amazing samples that will no doubt get your imagination running wild!

5 Saturday 12 th May pm Zips, zips and buttonholes This class is a must for both dressmaking and soft furnishings. A class of easy and reliable methods of inserting PERFECT zips, including zips in cushions, skirts and trousers. We then unlock the mysteries of inserting invisible zips for a perfect dressmaking finish and then make PERFECT buttonholes, with and without cording. You cannot afford to miss this one! Tuesday 15 th May pm Working with stretch knits Knits are an important part of every wardrobe and because of their elasticity, knit garments do not require a lot of fitting and they shed wrinkles well. Most knits do not ravel, making them quick and easy to sew. Knits come in a variety of fabrics that vary in texture, elasticity, fibre content, weight, and design. On this workshop you will make a simple stretch garment. Choose your pattern and fabric, come along and learn how to deal with any stretch fabric. Wednesday 16 th May pm Trouser Fitting Well made trousers, with or without lining, are joys to wear. On this class, you will learn the correct way to measure, cut and adjust those tricky areas to have a perfectly fitting toile. You will be able to make any style of trousers from one correctly fitting toile. Your entire trouser fitting problems solved in one day!

Wednesday 23 rd May pm *NEW Mastering Patterns kit This is pattern cutting 101 understanding shape, form and how to achieve the balance between art and science. For those of you who have done the pattern adaptation class and wish to advance to more technical designs this class is for you. We will 2d and 3d pattern cut. Learn the advantages and how to avoid the pitfalls of these two methods. If fashion design and making your own unique garments is high on your wish list then you need to be on this class!

7 Friday 1 st June pm Trouser Making Following on from the trouser fitting class, we learn the correct way to make a pair of trousers. Plenty of tricks and tips for a professional finish. Construction process, seaming, neatening, lining, zips and pockets all made easy. Bring your toile and pattern from the fitting class, your fabric and notions. Leave with trousers that fit in your choice of fabric and colour, perfect! Friday 8 th Saturday 9 th June pm Making a tailored jacket Whatever style of jacket you choose, it needs to be properly made. This course will teach you the inside secrets to a great looking jacket. Interfacing/interlining, what's the difference? To fuse or not to fuse? How can you achieve the perfect lapels and sleeves in a few easy steps? All the details and secrets explained and a beautifully fitting jacket made on this two-day course. Thursday 14 th June :30 pm Cushions, cushions & cushions Cushions for different uses, for lounges and sitting rooms, bedrooms and children s rooms; cushions with ruffles and/or piping; Oxford style and many others. Cushions with neat and easy zip fastenings or with buttons. Let us inspire you to make your own designer cushions.

8 Saturday 23 rd June :30 pm Fantasy Embroidery Work with a selection of materials, tulle and threads and experiment with all types of machine decorative work using the presser feet and free machine sewing with and without a hoop. Use straight stitch, zigzags, patterns and a variety of techniques to create unique, quick and effective embroidered textile work. Saturday 30th June pm *NEW Lounge & Lingerie Day Those of you who want to make onesies and fleece pajamas can. This class will concentrate of working with fleece and flannels. Get the perfect size, learn how to add ribbing to collar and cuffs. Zip insertion into fleece can be tricky but with this method it s easy. Be ready for when the cold weather strikes with these unique holiday lounging around outfits.
