Check our website for more details: Club Needle Pushers Club - 1 st & 3 nd Tuesdays, $25/six months Jan 15 th, Feb 5 th, 19 th, Mar 5 th, 19 th, Apr 9 th, 23 rd : 6-8pm Join the club!! This is the perfect opportunity to socialize and finish those hand stitching projects including your hand appliqué, hand piecing, embroidery work, and even knitting and crochet of all kinds. Appliqué Class! The Bouquet Block From Elizabeth Mac Cullough Hervey Quilt Pattern Three Part Series - Cynthia Balzer - $75 Series runs: Jan 20 th, Feb 17 th, & Mar 17 th : Sunday 1pm-3:30pm This beautiful bouquet of flowers is from a Baltimore Album Quilt, circa The pattern was lovingly reproduced by a small group of women from The Baltimore Applique Society. Those of you who love and are excited about Baltimore Album Quilts are invited to see how a block that looks so difficult can really be quite easy. After you have made yours, you need not tell anyone how easy it is. So come join us and share your love of applique. If there is interest, we will continue to offer more blocks from this beautiful quilt. Note: The full pattern includes the history of the quilt, full pattern of the 25 blocks, all border patterns, information sheets, as well as a CD-ROM containing a picture of each original block. Floriani Embroidery Club - Ollie Gray - $25/month Jan 24 th, Feb 28 th, Mar 28 th : 6pm-8pm Club Come learn the Floriani Embroidery software and practice with Floriani projects led by Ollie. 2 BLOCK OF THE MONTH Series NEW BOM Round Robin by Bits n Pieces Fran Noyes- $75 Saturday: 10am-12pm Starts Feb 9 th Series Runs: Feb. 9; Mar. 9; April 13; May 11; June 8; July 13; Aug. 10; Sept. 14; Oct. 12; and Nov. 9 Monthly for 10 months through Oct 12 th Great for any skill level! Pieced blocks and borders surround an applique center, includes 2 applique center plus variations and 42 pieced blocks. Wall Quilt (40 pieced blocks) or Bed Quilt (76 pieced blocks) available. Bring your machines to sew a block while in class! Limited kits available. Speed Bumps Lona Hull - $60 Beginners Class Feb 18 th : 10am-5pm Learn the basics of machine quilting. This class includes what you should know and practice before attempting heirloom machine quilting with trapunto and feathers. You should be familiar with your machine and its settings for needle down, freemotion quilting, dropped feed dogs and tension adjustment. You will learn ergonomic techniques for working with your machine for long periods of time, marking, basting, navigating the quilt top, grid quilting, echo quilting, continuous lines, stippling to enhance the top design and numerous background quilting design choices. (Additional pattern/material fee paid to Lona at class time.) Storm at Sea Kim Jalette - $50 Feb 23 rd : 9am-4pm Beginners Class! Using the Square in a Square ruler, make the traditional Storm at Sea pattern more easily than ever imagined, without cutting any individual triangles or using a paper-piecing technique. Everyone loves this design, with its optical illusions of curved piecing (no, there isn t any!!) Suitable for a confident beginner; you should be able to accurately rotary cut strips and sew a consistent ¼ seam allowance. No experience with the Square in a Square ruler is required. Pre-class preparation includes cutting your strips at home so that you can begin sewing almost immediately in class. Page 2 of 5

3 Traditional Cathedral Windows by Hand Cynthia Balzer Two Part Series - $40 Friday: Mar 1 st and 22 nd - 10:30am-12:30pm Have you been intrigued by the Cathedral Window, and always wanted to make one? Then this is the class for you! The Cathedral Window is a good take along project to do when you don't want to have idle fingers. Stitching by hand is very popular, and so relaxing. You can make your Cathedral Window with more traditional fabric colors, or choose a different look. The BEST part about the Cathedral Window is when you put the blocks together you are done, no batting or backing! Whether you want to make a pillow, wall hanging or full size quilt, come join us for some fun. March - Beginner Tote Series Betty Isemann - $20 Beginners Class! Thursday Mar 7 thh : 6pm-8pm - Tag Along Tote For a fast fashion statement, make this tote in your favorite colors. Tuck your cell phone or ipod in the pocket, add a dash of cash, and away you go! We will add the optional zipper closure in this class. Thursday Mar 14 th : 6pm-8pm Snap Happy II - $20 This cute little bag snaps closed by using a carpenter s metal measuring tape. It has no raw seams, an inside pocket and a boxed bottom. Great for cosmetics, sewing supplies, and as a travel bag. Size is 7 x 10. Crazy Goose Chase Kim Jalette - $50 Mar 16 th : 9am-4pm Beginners Class! From the book: Certifiably Crazy (Required for class) The buggy barn way! It s a fun, crazy pattern and can be made in any variety of fabric combinations. The Buggy Barn process of block construction uses a stack, slash, shuffle method, which is very organized even though the results look random. Be careful, because once you make one block, they are addicting! The book also includes 7 other quilts that are appealing, and very easy to make once you learn the Buggy Barn way! Page 3 of 5

4 T-Shirt/Memory Quilt Betty Isemann - $45 Thursday March 21 st, April 4 th and 18 th : 6pm-8pm What to turn your T-shirts into memories that will last? Do you have a special someone graduating from High School or College? Won t it be nice to have a little piece of home to go with them on their journey? Now is the time to learn to make a T-Shirt Quilt to take along with them! Part 1 on March 21 st, we will discuss how to prepare the shirts. Part 2 on April 4 th, we will discuss layout options including sashing. Part 3 on April 18 th, we will discuss borders on the quilt and suggestions on quilting and don t forget the Label! Hands On Embroidery Class Hoop Sisters Marine Compass Ollie Gray $50 - plus design CD Mar 23rd d : 9:30am-4pm Hands on machine embroidery class (aka bring your embroidery machine!). Mariner's Compass has never been simpler using the EmbroidaBlock method. This usually difficult design is a pleasure to stitch and very impressive when finished. Stitch four compass blocks to make a circle. We've even included a very simple alternate block for added impact. If you have Floriani Software, Ollie will show you how to modify the design. Formats:.art,.dst,.exp,.jef,.pes,.vip and.vp3. Quick Step Dottie Raab - $30 ***OPENINGS**** Two Part Sessions Tuesdays Mar 26 th & Apr 9th Have you ever wanted to know how to quilt as you go?
