Have you ever used crayons to enhance your quilt? In the Fall Harvest class you will be learning (or perhaps reviewing) how to do the embroidery back stitch by hand. You will see how easy, quick and relaxing this age old craft can be. When you are done with your block you will learn how to enhance your quilt by coloring it with crayons -- again quick and easy. Except for an embroidery hoop, all supplies will be included in a kit. Kit fee-- $7.00. Please call ahead to register. SERGER QUILT AS YOU GO Saturday, September 27, at 10:30 am. This Flip n Strip quilt-as-you-go features a ruched sashing, and uses your serger s gathering foot. Finished size 36 x40, but could be made any size. Instructor: AMY. Fee: $18 plus supplies. ALPHA TO OMEGA Interested in learning to quilt? A sampler quilt is a great way to begin. Learn the basics, from fabric selection and rotary cutting to machine piecing, one block at a time! This class will meet twice a month, normally the first and third Mondays of every month. This month s project turns a tea towel into an embroidered fall placemat and trivet. $25 class fee includes the Dunroven towel! Fee: $ STRIP N FLIP TABLE RUNNER Tuesday, October 14 at 6:00 pm. You want to talk about easy, this as easy as it comes. With this technique, when you get to the end of this reversible table runner, all that s left to do is the binding. Perhaps you have chosen to have autumn on one side and Christmas on the second side no problem. You will learn how to make a binding that matches these two very different seasons. Instructor: Jan Hutchison. Fee: $10 plus supplies. FOLDING CHAIR MAKEOVER What a great idea! Refresh that boring old folding chair into a real conversation piece! SASSY QUILTERS: Triangle Frenzy Hexagon Table Topper --This handsome, sophisticated table topper makes use of the wonderful border prints you see in the quilting shops. It can be extended from a Hexagon topper to a table runner. During the first class we will experiment with using portions of your border print to get the look you were hoping for. The second class we will learn how to finish this runner WITHOUT binding it by hand. Class held October 28 and November 11 at 1:00 pm. Fee: $20 plus supplies. BORDER PATROL - In this 3 session class you will learn how to bind your quilt after you have added borders with interest. You will learn: A. How to adapt a border to your specific quilt measurements. B. How to make Prairie Points C. How to make a paper pieced border (1 among many). D. How to make a very traditional border for a very traditional quilt. E. How to apply binding to a scalloped edge.
