2 Creative Classes Multi-Hoop Santa Dates: Monday, October 3 & 17 10:30 2:30 Cost: $40 + supplies Combine 9 individual Embroidery designs to form this impressive Santa. Each design can be stitched in a 5x7 hoop or combine several at a time in a larger hoop. Learn to place each piece properly to form one great design. Background fabric measures 21 x 29. Santa stands 11 x 21 ½. Learn to use all the advanced features on your machine like the laser light or camera. If you don t have these features you can still be successful. Christmas Magnets Applique & Embroidery in the Hoop Teacher: Laurie Lowe llowe671@gmail.com Dates: Wednesday, October 5 1:00 4:00 Cost: $25 includes kit + supplies Join us to learn how to create those wonderful and cute magnets that always decorate our refrigerators, filing cabinets and other surfaces during the Christmas season. This project only requires a 4x4 hoop. This is your opportunity to bring in and sew with your lighter weight, more portable embroidery machines! Of course, any machine with a 5x7 hoop works just fine, also. I will be supplying felt, fleece, stabilizer and magnets to complete two (2) Christmas magnets from my current group of seven (7) wonderful, decorative projects. Bring your own threads red, green, blues, gold, flesh colored, pink, white and black to make your project superb! If you do not have the dies, no worries, Jeannie will have them for you to use in the class. If you don t have an embroidery machine you can use your sewing machine to appliqué the fusible shapes for the blocks. Finished Size: 40" x 52" or you can make it smaller or larger to suit you. We will learn the difference between a normal Zig Zag stitch and a stepped Zig Zag. Feather stitch for stretch fabrics. Learn about all your special feet and how to use them. The overlock, the blind hem, the button hole and zipper foot. Finally, we will look at all the wonderful decorative stitches on your machine. This is a lecture demo class - no need to bring your machine! You have "homework" to practice using various parts of your machine that was demonstrated in the class. Your "homework" will become a sample to add to the pages of your purchased notebook. Please bring your notebook to every class as well as your show and tells. We will cover proper use of your sewing machine including threading, and seam allowances. Learn to choose a pattern, fabric yardage needed, thread and proper needles. There are many different cutting and measuring tools specially designed to make measuring fabric, and cutting fabric accurately and easy. You will be able to make a wall hanging or a quilt. This lecture/demo class will walk you through the Ovation Inspiration Guide and have you doing the most amazing techniques with these wonderful machines. Each month will feature a demonstration from the Inspiration Guide; you ll receive handouts and a kit to take home to complete your homework. Bring it in the following month and show off your new skills! Each block will be 12 x 14 and can be embellished with buttons and other materials. 12 months of fun, fusible projects. The fabric kits are specifically designed to make each block so all the fabric choices are already made and you just have to come, cut, sew and enjoy.
