1 March 16th, 2019 RCTC Heintz Center, Rochester, MN SESSION 1 (ALL MORNING): 9:15 am - 12 Noon Cloverbud Day Camp I Each participant will go home with a few items that they make. Participants will be busy creating, learning and having fun interacting with each other and youth leaders teaching this class. Presenter: Rebecca Lofgren & Fillmore County Ambassadors Grade Level: K-2 nd Cost: $8.00 Limit: 20 Fun with Pre-Cuts Come to this class and learn a few tricks with pre-cuts and make a pillow top or table runner to take home! Materials furnished, but bring a basic sewing kit (scissors, pins, etc.). Sewing machines are provided but if you want to bring your own sewing machine, you are welcome to do so! Presenter: Janet Beyer and Volunteers Grade Level: 3rd and up Cost: Free Limit: 8 Exploring Painting Projects include swipe painting with a plastic card, dab painting on canvas and Dot painting on poster board. We will spend some time discussing famous paintings and what we like about each style. **Youth should wear clothes that could get paint on them. Presenter: Lisa Dierks Grade Level: 3rd and up Cost: $10.00 Limit: 10 Egg Carton Wreath Paint a wreath with recycled egg cartons! Presenter: Patty Zabel-Duden Grade Level: 3rd and up Cost: $2.00 Limit: 15 SESSION 2: 9:15-10:35 am Design Your Own Custom Spring Wreath! Come and create your own custom spring wreath with Celene, the owner of Country Lane Floral! She will teach you floral arrangement techniques and guide you through the process of creating your spring wreath! Presenter: Celene Holst Grade Level: 3rd and up Cost: $12.00 Limit: 12

2 SESSION 2: 9:15-10:35 am (Continued) 4-H Science Lab Do you love STEM (science, engineering, technology and math)? This session is for you! Each participant will have the opportunity to learn and experience fun and cool science projects. Presenter: Patrick Jirik Grade Level: 3rd and up Cost: $8.00 Limit: 15 4-H Agronomy Join us as we kick off 4-H Agronomy and learn about field and vegetable crops, as well as, learning about agronomy career opportunities! Youth will get kits to take home to get a head start on their crop science project for their local county fair! A great session for any youth interested in flower gardening, vegetable gardening or field crops! Presenter: McKayla Wingert Grade Level: 3rd and up Cost: Free Limit: 40 SESSION 3: 10:40 am - 12 Noon DIY Robot Car Using a few simple supplies learn how to build a robot car that moves on its own! Presenter: Cooper Hancock Grade Level: 5th and up Cost: $6.00 Limit: 15 Eat the Rainbow Participants will learn about the importance of eating the rainbow when it comes to choosing fruits and vegetables. Youth will get to sample different types of fruits and veggies and will get to make a fun snack to take home! Presenter: Kaitlin Bruun Grade Level: K-3rd Cost: $8.00 Limit: 20 AI Technology & Cattle Reproduction Join us for the Artificial Insemination (AI) Technology session to learn from local AI technicians about reproductive strategies in cattle. We will cover topics like AI techniques, equipment, careers, genetics and reproduction. Youth will get a hands-on opportunity to explore the reproductive anatomy using a cattle-training simulator. 3 SESSION 4 (ALL AFTERNOON): 12:35-3:20 pm Cloverbud Day Camp II Join the Olmsted County 4-H Ambassadors for a fun-filled afternoon! Presenter: Olmsted County 4-H Ambassadors Grade Level: K-2nd Cost: $10.00 Limit: 20 Spa and Relaxation Class will focus on a variety of ways to relax in your day. Projects include making sugar scrub, salt scrub, lip scrub and foot soak to take home plus coloring a mandala. We will learn about different meditation techniques and might even have time for some yoga. Wear comfy clothes! Presenter: Lisa Dierks Grade Level: 3rd and up Cost: $10 Limit: 10 Piñata Creations Each participant will make a piñata to take home using some basic supplies. We will use a balloon as the base and slowly layer on paper mache to then create the perfect piñata for you! SESSION 5: 12:35-1:55 pm The Power of Pressure Do you know how powerful water pressure is? Come find out when you shoot 2-liter bottles high into the air! This program is happening outside, so please dress for the weather. Another activity may be substituted if we cannot be outside. Presenter: Rebecca Lofgren Grade Level: K 8th Cost: $5.00 Limit: 20 Pasta Creations Youth will become Italian Chefs in this fun, hands-on cooking class! They will learn how to make and cook FRESH PASTA with sauce! Delizioso! Presenter: Rebecca Paulson Grade Level: 3rd and up Cost: $5.00 Limit: 12 Learn to Make a Corsage Youth will learn how to create a corsage using fresh flowers. They will explore the types of flowers that work best and how to arrange them to create a beautiful corsage. Presenter: Patty Zabel-Duden Grade Level: 6th and up Cost: $5.00 Limit: 10

4 SESSION 6: 2:00-3:20 pm Wildlife Experience During the wildlife experience you will get a glimpse of what the 4-H Wildlife Project is about. Some activities we will do is animal identification, orienteering, wildlife games and crafts. Presenter: Doreen Goodman Grade Level: 3rd-7th Cost: Free Limit: 10 Upcycle a T-shirt into a bag Use an old t-shirt and make it into a bag to carry your stuff! Presenter: Patty Zabel-Duden Grade Level: 6th and up Cost: Free (bring your own t-shirt) Limit: 15 String Art Fun Learn how to make fun pieces of art using: string, nails, a wood board and some glue! Presenter: Katie Ketchum Grade Level: 6th and up Cost: $7.00 Limit: 20 All Project Day sessions are put on by industry volunteers and 4-H volunteers and staff.
