They will never be alone with this. Fun & easy to make out of wire. *Time: 9:30 am-11:30 am *Cost: $20 *Teacher: Carolyn Poe *Students must bring: Small bucket for water Chicken Scratch A form of embroidery worked on gingham fabric. *Time: 11:30 am-1:30 pm *Cost: $6 *Teacher: Carolyn Poe *Students must bring: Small scissors & a 5-6 in. embroidery hoop
2 Corn Board Painting This painting will be completed on a long wooden board. You will be expressing your own artistic creations. *Time: 9:30 am-1:30 pm *Cost: $25 *Teacher: Bessie Bain *Students must bring: All supplies furnished. Pick Up Sticks Quilt Technique Pick Up Sticks will give you an opportunity to learn slicing fabric & adding a stick to change the color composition of the quilt blocks. Learn to slice again to add a second stick to rejoin with perfect intersections. *Time: 9:30 am-1:30 pm *Teacher: Rita Hardman with some sewing skills *Students must bring: 20 pieces of varying prints, solids, and checks cut to 9.5 inch squares; 20 strips cut to 1 inch long by 42 inches. These need to coordinate with 9.5 inch squares so solids work well. The more variety the better. Sewing machine, neutral thread, scissors, seam ripper, rotary cutter, design surface, cutting ruler, 1/4 inch seam marked for stitching. Woven Carolina Snowflake The Carolina snowflake is an eight-pointed star-like form made of cherry and maple splints that is a generous 15 inches in diameter. *Time: 9:30 am-11:30 am *Cost: $20 *Teacher: Nancy Lake *Students must bring: spring type clothespins

Upcycled Journal Turn an old book into a personalized art journal. *Time: 9:30 am-11:30 pm *Teacher: Melony Lane *Cost: $8 *Students must bring: Scissors, used hard cover book (not too large). Optional: Variety of ribbons, yarns to share, heavy weight papers, old calendar photos are perfect!
4 Specialty greeting cards Students will complete several (3-6) greeting cards, some simple, some more elaborate in the construction and folding. Students will have a stamping basics refresher. Finished folded cards are 4 1/4 inch by 5 1/2 inch. *Time: 9:30 am-12:30 pm *Teacher: Anita Poling *Cost: $15 *Students must bring: If owned: scoreboard, scissors, bone folder, favorite adhesive, paper trimmer Friday, November 10 (Afternoon Classes) Family Tree You will make a family tree using assorted fabrics for leaves on which you will write the names of family members. This makes a nice accent for any room. *Time: 2:00 pm-5:00 pm *Teacher: Harlene Welch *Students must bring: 8 x 10 picture frame, small pair of scissors, pencil Primitive Christmas Tree Basket This wall basket makes a great door decoration for Christmas. It has greenery and a primitive tree on the front. 6 Mini (single event) Scrapbook Students will use scoring, cutting, and folding, gluing, punching, and some stamping and will construct a fun folded album with an attractive cover that ties shut for storage and safekeeping. Approximate folded size is 6.5 inches by 6.5 inches. *Time: 2:00 pm-5:00 pm *Teacher: Anita Poling *Cost: $20 *Students must bring: photos of a single event, pet, person, or family; stamps or stickers to coordinate and if owned- big scoreboard or bone folder and/or stylus.
